Good Tool Despite Download Issues
The greatest issue with the program purchase at Costco
for the Standard 2013 TurboTax was that my purchase included a CD for downloading the program, however,
my laptop does not have a CD ROM hard-drive.
You should include instructions for using the installation key that comes with the CD to download the program.
It can be done but I had to visit several other web sites before I was able to do this download.
(I believe the site was: intuitglobal.intuit.com/downloads/CanadaTax/2013/dis/TurboTax2013_BLD<) Don't hold me to this website.
Alternately, they should provide a Help Telephone No. to call in order to download a CD purchase with install key to a laptop that has no CD hard-drive.

So easy...
As long as you have all your documentation in front of you, it only takes an hour or so to get taxes done...and I love that it calculates the most appropriate spouse to receive the deductions.

needs fixing
while doing the moving expenses the distances between old residence and new job and the distances from new residence to new job kept changing to random numbers. ie would change 500 km to 7 and 22 km to 5 after editing multiple times the correct distances would finally stay

I had trouble filing my return said I had an error. But would not point out what the error was. Had to go over the return twice. Found no errors, still could not send. Had to send the same way we used to browse click then send

overrides
Had trouble understanding how to deal with overrides due to medical deductions splitting and could not fix the problem. Program said "fix" but it just seemed to lead into a circle that did not fix anything. Multiple instructions on what to do just increased the confusion. I ended up just sending in the return in spite of the warnings to fix the override error.

easy tax return
only thing needs to be fixed is the finally page after sending to netfile - the confirmation page needs to be able to be printed off with the confirmation number the program will not allow this to happen a of now.

Easy to use, but sometimes problematic
I've used TurboTax for years and it's generally a great and helpful tool to file taxes. While I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, I would do so with one caveat. I find that the Charitable Donation Optimizer is rather hit or miss. For example, this year, it was more financially beneficial for my wife and I to split our donations, but the software couldn't recognize this. It also recommended that we claim ALL of our donations, when in fact, we could continue to carry some over. While that aspect needs work, I'm still quite happy with TurboTax in general, but for those not skilled in math, if you trust the software, you might be losing out on money that could be refunded to you.

Disappointed that after completing returns they were not available when I wanted to netfile. (I do not think this was the result of my actions?)It resulted in my having to once again fill in all information. Not thrilled, having used intuits tax file software for many years without any such problem, I found this utterly infuriating and shall think very long and hard before committing to Turbo Tax again.
I will say that after the second filling of the return, the actual filing online with CRA was simple.

Much Improved
I have been using TT for 4 years now and experience ease of use every year. Netfiling is almost a breeze now and easy. My only complaint is the repeated back page for printing. Oh well at least that will make the file current.

Excellent value
I have used Turbo Tax for at least five years and this year's was the easiest one to use, particularly because the software netfiled our returns with the CRA. I always found the CRA internet netfiling time consuming and sometimes confusing when I had to do all the work.
I was disappointed that our previous year's returns were not automatically transferred to this year's. I seem to recall that in previous years there was a question in the introduction that enabled this update to be done automatically.
I will wait for the CRA to accept our returns before I give my final rating.

I have a basic return... it is nice to just click and enter.. no more calculators. head scratching on which number goes where.
I've used turbo tax for years... I am so glad I picked up my first turbo tax in a box years ago. Set up right, and bought online you don't have to even think about it as they will sent you the download reminders.. thank you. one less thing to worry about in a busy life
