Continues to be easy way to do your own taxes
When I first started using Quick Tax I had been doing my own taxes the paper way for years, and I double checked everything against my paper. Now I trust them - they ask for all the possible deductions, and have helpful tips or links along the way if you are unsure if something applies to you. Even the simple Turbo Tax at least asks about "other" income (rental, professional etc) and does offer the appropriate forms. This year's version seemed a tiny bit more cumbersome than previous years.

Suggestions for improvement
It would be more efficient to have the Continue Button in the same spot i.e. at the top of the page rather than having to search for it on each new page.
Also for people on Disability who wish to transfer this amount to an eligible party - there should be a statement in your code allowing this transfer. I.e. Do you wish to transfer this amount? To what SIN number for example.

Useful
The product is good as a tax system, but needs some work on the computer standards. Most notable is the lack of checking for local settings that effect operation. Specifically, it should check the registry for the default web browser, and launch that program for net file and other internet access instead of defaulting to IE, since the IE might not be up to date and insecure if it is not being used and updated.

OK experience
Did what it said it would do. I've used several different tax packages over the years (both installed and online) and this experience was OK.
Interface wasn't that great, but the one thing that set this apart from others I have tried was the Live Community for asking questions and finding answers.

A Conditional Recommendation
I would recommend this product only because it is marginally better than the few other tax preparation software I have used over the years. However, it is still NOWHERE NEAR the ease of use and functionality offered by professionally oriented products such as your very own Profile.

previous years needed
I have been using turbotax and formerly quicktax for at least 10 years. It would be nice to be able to open previous years returns using this years software. (rather than just importing relevant data on its own) I often have to go back to look up items like CEC amounts to bring them forward manually. Often have to reinstall previous version, etc.

Hard to Read Print
I have a large (21") computer screen and the print within the Turbo Tax program is still exceptionally small, particularly in the easy step interview process. I've tried adjusting my computer's font size and screen resolution but nothing has helped. This is the only program on my computer that I have this issue with so it is obviously the Turbo Tax program itself.

I did have problems just prior to netfiling, while checking out the items for review. In closing the window I did not return to the point of departure. Instead the turbotax window also closed and I had to search my way back, with the questions answered needing to revisited.
I'm still a fan of using Turbo Tax software.

Turbo Tax
I like Turbo tax and use it yearly. HOWEVER, there are a few things that would greatly improve it:
1. allow a choice of larger fonts and darker writing. I'm in my late 40s and it is VERY difficult to read the screens.
2. The Medical Expense years are inconsistently displayed and show as an error to fix at review time - allow access to it when entering med exp and allow a flag to be set there.
3. The optimizers are idifficult to follow (Charity and med exps) and should be made simpler and clearer.

Only One Problem
You need to investigate the section that transfers tuition credits to a parent. Your program allows the federal transfer, but blocks out the provincial transfer. In the Help area it seems I am not the only person with this problem.

Only one thing to mention
I use Turbo Tax and find it easy to use but - my main objection is using the big letters printed across the 'file copies' that say "File Copy - Do Not Submit" To me to keep or give to another person seemed to look unprofessional and made it tougher to read!!!

Writing too small
I like this program and have been using it for several years. That being said, every year my eye sight gets worse and I find it very frustrating that I cannot zoom in to make the pages closer. If something isn't done in the next couple of years I will have not choice but to find a different program

Turbotax is great
Turbotax is a great tax product for people with employment, self-employment, investment and income from rental properties. It is very easy to learn and provides great advice via the "Review" function and tax information via the "Help" menu. The only frustrating things are things like over-rides (as for terminal losses on capital property) but the rest is simple. Turbotax calculates foreign tax credits which are very complicated and recommends tax savings as well.

Do I qualify
for many of the tax credits the are offered, it would speed things up if you listed the qualifiying incomes. I always spend so much time searching your site and the internet to see if I qualify or not. If it depends on what your income level is then list it. It is have to figure out if you qualify for a certain credit or not when there is no information on whether your income is too high.

Simple and easy to use
This is the second year I have used Turbo Tax and it was very simple. I have 4 returns to do and it links mine, my wife and my two kids who are in school all together. It even carries forward information from the previous year to reduce re-entering.
