turbo tax-not for windows 8\
we just bought a new computer with windows 8 and even though the program said it was compatibile with windows 8 i could not get it to install and had to go back to my old computer to complete the return this year. i hope this will be resolved for the 2013 tax year. otherwise i have used the program for several years and it is very easy to follow.

Pleasantly surprised
This was the first time I used TurboTax. For the most part it was pretty straight forward and easy to use. Some familiarity with preparing tax returns was helpful as some items can be a little tricky. That said, overall the program worked very well. I will use this product again next year.

I have used Turbo Tax for a few years but this being the first year I did my parents return. They are both seniors and I was not sure how to do returns. Turbo Tax made it easy and simple. thank you

add support for Trust returns
Turbo tax/Quick tax is a great product.
I have been using it for years.
It would be fantastic if Intuit would include in future versions the ability to do trust returns.
Many families with disabled dependents establish a trust to have money available for their disabled loved ones.
At this time you have to do the trust return by hand or have a professional to it for you at considerable cost compared to Turbo Tax.

MEDICAL and investment reporting sections are disjointed. It requires a lot of searching to find additional info to resolve warnings and errors . the solutions are not easily located. more detailed explanation is required for these areas. FOR EXAMPLE I see the same questions concerning errors and warnings that occurred back in 2011 are being asked in 2013. Those issues should have been corrected before the next edition.

Gets the job done!
I don't understand why once you've run the optimiser for donations or medical expenses the warning or tips suggest you do it. I already did and when I get the reminder I then worry that it didn't work.

Printing is NO FUN
I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent but I could not figure out how to print a return to file in hard copy. I NETFILE'd only because it seemed impossible to print a return.
Otherwise, it's as good as ever.

easy to use
This program is easy to navigate. there are lots of "blue" highlighted words you can click on to explain what it means. I like the Flag option so you can flag something you are unsure about or something you need to get back to and at any time you can open all your flags and it takes you back to where you need to.

Good program - BUT
There are a lot of questions asked each year, some over and over again which no one ever seems to answer. I have been using this program for over 9 years and all and all its still a very good tool to file ones tax return. The program gets easier to use with every passing year. THANKS.

Reliable, easy and complete
Have been using this software for several years and find it to be useful and complete for the 8 returns that I do for family members. Takes away the detail that can be too easy to miss or make an error. It is unfortunate that governments make it more and more complicated to pay them. Improvements to the software are implemented seamlessly.

Reliable and Secure
I have been using Turbo Tax for many years now and I like the convenience of being able to transfer some of the prior years information to the new year with a few simple clicks. I've never had a problem with my netfile submission and there are always lot's of tips and suggestions when you use the easy step method to complete your taxes. My only problem this year was that the font of the pages were much smaller than they were in previous years and I had a harder time reading them without moving in closer to my screen. Changing my screen resolution did not improve it either. Other than this, I like this product and will use it again next year.

Navigation difficult
Navigating through the application was difficult. I kept re-doing the same screens over and over, no matter how many times I hit the "Done with..." button.
I had flags on and the flag button simply disappeared despite the constant warning that flags were on. I had to go to the form through the forms menu.

profile pages confusing !!!!! This is the weakest part of the step-by-step format!
same question repetead causing multiple entries of income.
Some pages indicate questions on next pages, but instead there are only statements ...like : 'check all that appplies to you".

It's a good product and I enjoy being able to netfile.
However, my husband turned 65 in December. The program wanted him to enter an Old Age Security form - but with a December birthday, his first payment wasn't received until January 2013 - thus no statement.
The program isn't flexible enough to understand that and it wouldn't let me netfile - I have to mail his tax return.

secure
not sure if all tax tips and strategy is considered so I have to be confident that TurboTax has accessed all considerations....I have heard a few comments good and a few comments not; so what I do is create two returns and calcuate the differences in refunds or paymentamounts. Greater than a 10% dif in the two trail returns is a problem

It was alright
This product was alright. I just hope I didn't miss anything or mess anything up. My biggest problem was finding where to claim my rent and when I was finished it said that I claimed medical expenses when I didn't put any expenses on there at all.

The medical and pension optimizers are a bit confusing. It would be nice if the program allowed interchangable persons and amts and immediately showed the changes in refund/balance due

great program
love this program have been using it for years, just taught my son how to go through the steps for his taxes. Only one thing I am disappointed with is it does not work on the mac, we had to purchase a laptop just to do my taxes ..... wish I didn't have to!!!
But this is a great program will keep using it very user friendly.
