No Dividend
May biggest complaint is the combining of the Dividend input for T3s. It is not done for T5s. Why is this nescesary? It makes checking against spreadsheets etc impossible.

One Small Problem
Had some difficulties entering on Money borrowed to earn interest, dividend, and royalty income as the total amount would only consist of the first amount entered. However, when I left the first column empty it would then total the other columns to arrive at the correct total.

Questionnaires cumbersome
Cumbersome questionnaires are irksome, especially given the tiny print. This software would be a lot better if the TYPEFACE ON IT WAS LARGER (really, most of us have 24" or larger screens).

Simple to use
Turbo Tax is simple to use, and fast if you have used it previously as it imports all of your data. If you have a basic tax situation it is very fast, but even with some more complicated items it keeps up.

Needs work
Great until you reach Ontario Tax Credits. The program knows how old I am; the program knows my income. Why does it propose tax credits that I do not qualify for? Poor coding.
Stop the advertisements for additional services. I have already paid for this program. Stop harassing me for additional programs and services. Seriously!

Good product
Intuitive and easy to follow. Just a shortcoming on the last questions about whether your spouse has been prison even though you are single. It does not make sense and no help is available. Pretty sure you are aware of that. But in general the program is excellent. I have been using it for the last 9 years.

Yearly Purchase

Confusing
The flipping back and forth between spouses makes the completion difficult. It would be simpler to complete one individual then the other when completing the input.

Good software
Have been using Turbo Tax and its predecessor, tax wiz for over 10 years. I'm very satisfied. But! To better understand and learn the interrelationships between various tax enteries, income, deductions etc., its best to do it by hand. So for first time filers use the paper forms for a couple of yeras then switch to Turbo Tax.

Good Product
Good overall. The one thing I would like to see added though, is to have it import the previous year's medical expense data into the current year. This would save a lot of manual re-entry work and time.

Great except for Quebec part
This software is very user friendly and pleasant, except for the part about Quebec. It was confusing. Please work on developing the Quebec portion!
Overall though, a very valuable software. We will be using it every year from now on.

Good Review
Turbo Tax is pretty good, accurate and easy to use. Two suggestions to improve are : 1) on a wide screen, the name on the left and the data entry field on the right can easily get misaligned. 2) Have a facility to do pdf's of specific forms (e.g., Donations worksheet).

Turbotax Canada
Used Turbotax in the US before moving back to Canada. The questions are a bit more complex to decifer but it may just be due to the tax code. The help screen always helped me get to the answer.

I still hate tax time...
I have used this product for several years and it is worth it. I hope to use the Mac version next year as this old PC is getting rusty. My only problem is going back to individual pages (e.g. Medical Expenses) seems to require hitting the 'back' button many many times...it would be nice to be able to select specific pages to go to.

Could Be Better

Makes it easier
Makes it easier to complete and file. Netfile and keep one copy. You can fix mistakes electronically so no messing up paper copies.

Font Size and Color Difficult to Read
I like your product, however, this year I found the font size and color to be terrible, and I wasn't able to increase the font size within the program, it was difficult to read. I was also not able to save my files until the end, I hit SAVE and nothing happened... resulting in a loss and start from scratch situation. No one likes having to do their taxes twice...

Very poor interface for netfiling. My preferred browser is Mozilla Firefox. Turbotax insists on trying to bring up Internet Explorer and when it can't a Microsoft window appears that is difficult to close or escape from

The basic Turbo Tax covers everything I need - even though I do have self employed and rental income. It seems to be taking more time than I remember from previous years as there are a lot of 'transition' pages to read through between sections. Even so, I suspect it is still quicker than the paper and calculator route.

2012 TT Review
Overall, a pretty good product.
Some of the help results could be improved.
Two major complaints I have are:
1) Any command that opens an internet browser automatically takes you to Internet Explorer and not the default browser you may use. This is archaic.
2) There is no way to increase the font sizing within the application. While I wear corrective glasses and have very good vision with them, even I find the majority of screens within the easy file section somewhat difficult and headache inducing. I pity anyone with any sort of visual impairment.
Fix these two issues and you'll have me as a repeat buyer for 2013, if not I'll need to move on.
And lastly, speaking of repeat buying, if you really want to have users buy directly from you on-line going forward, offer them some sort of price or other incentive. Your offer price is the same or higher than I can buy it at retail just about any day of the week, especially as the filing deadline approaches. Might this erode retail sales? Sure, but I'd bet only to a small degree and would be easily exceeded by an increasingly loyal on line following.
