Good as Usual
I have used this software for many years. It continues to be a reasonably straight forward process to fill out four returns (wife + 2 kids). I would like the help information to be a bit more inclusive, so less searching is needed using the online forums.

Stressful submission
The current turbo tax product is good for individual submissions but not always easy to use if completing tax submissions for a married couple. It was not always clear which option to use when splitting income and where to put majority of deductions such as charity contributions. After several uses it did get easier. It doesn't do a good job of explaining the best strategy when it comes to transferring tuition expenses from kids to parents. More explanation or examples re such transfers would be very welcome.

Great Purchase
I have been using this product for years. I chatted with one of the helpers and he was great. Answered my question fast and he was very nice. I bought the audit protection for the first time this year we will see how that works.

Error came up re address (& or * in address etc). There was neither and it was very difficult to find the error. It was in as 333 33 Ave. N.W. Finally discovered that periods needed to be removed ie 333 33 Ave NW. this was not stated with the error and it was OK last year!

Very Good Tax Software
Very easy to use and able to see refund amounts.
Should have a better analysis on who should claim deductions to maximize return. Instead, I had to flip back and forth and did my own addition between filers.

When the prompt for 'update' comes up the user needs to be told that this HAS to be done otherwise you cannot progress to file on netfile.

so simple to use!
I've used Turbo Tax for the last 3 years, it sure is handy to transfer data from previous years over.
One thing that would be nice if you are paying spousal/child support to an ex partner, that their information would transfer over (name and SIN).
This year, filing was faster than last.

have used for many yers
Even when I indicated that I did not want Pension Income Splitting the program continued to prepare our side-by-side returns as though we had agree to the split. It finally accepted my correction. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the product and will likely use again next year.

Error Found
When entering amounts for Home Buyers repayment the software calculates a different amount than the tax assessment had and enters the difference in as income.
My actual assessment was half of the amount stated by this program.

Overall Good, but new stupid error
Generally good, but when I imported from last year's return. it kept my address th same. However, this year's version puked on the period for the contraction of St. for NETFILE. This is the first year I've had to write Street for it to accept it. Somebody goofed.

Suggestion
I wanted to delete a form that I thought I would need as I was being prompted through the "Easy Step" procedure but I actually didn't need it and couldn't see an option to exclude it and so I was prompted more than once for the information for this form. Maybe I overlooked the "Dlelet this Form" or some other message.

The only issue is with the question: "Do you have no income to report?" "Yes or No" -- this doesn't make sense, and it should be "Do you have income to report?" "Yes or No"... or Do you have zero income to report?

The final page needs more detail. Can you mail two returns in the same envelope re the income sharing?
make sure forms are identified clearly with the name and number. State if a form prints in one or more pages i.e. the T1 condensed form. Thank kinda thing.

Suggestion
It would be great if there was a clearer way to report the income (dividends and capital gains) from US investments. If you had the option of using the boxes that are on 1099 forms it would be ideal.

good utilty tool
It was helpful to have the SIN and file path info evident while performing Netfile;

CF Improvements
Turbo Tax would be more helpful by not only recommending carry forwards, but recording them and transferring them to next years return. eg. Donations, Rx amounts (help with the dates), etc

Preferred UFile
I actually preferred the UFile format, perhaps because I was already familiar with it and had to learn the new format with TurboTax.
The Ufile format had good interview questions to setup the forms you needed to fill out, and if you forgot anything it wasn't hard to find the section and add something. I had difficulty doing the same with TurboTax where I had to go back to the interview questions to get the program to add in the form I wanted and then I had to navigate all the way through the steps again.

Optimizers
This year the Optimizers do not allow the changing of the forms. This must be done manually. There is no help button (that I found) to tell you what needs to be changed on what forms.

Relatively easy to use

Constructive review
Over the last 2 years, I noticed that I have problem when updating Turbo Tax over the internet. It complains that the software was not properly installed. To fix the problem, I had to remove Turbo Tax and re-install.

could do better
The best I can say is TT is better than the program I used to use.
I think there used to be a way of quickly going between my own return and my wife's. But now I cannot find it. Sometimes I was not sure just whose return I was working with. It would be useful if the name was shown large in the upper right hand corner, and when scrolling it did not disappear.
2- The fade away boxes are annoyingly slow to go away.
3- I would like a way to magnify the page or simply increase the text size.
Maybe you can do better next year?

Value for money
As for many years, I found the product easy to use. What was awkward for me was to find, for example, where I had last worked with "Capital Gains".

I prepared returns for my wife and me and it went smoothly. The available hints and advice and the ability to move anywhere on the tax return, to use the help tab, to get explanations of terms or items on the return instantaneously and to call if needed made the task almost anxiety free.

premier a better product
I found the standard made me wait until review to make some tax saving decisions that produced a lot of going back and no quick way to get back where I was. I was offered the opportunity while using standard to get premier , looking back I should have done that. turbotax is an excellent product.
