Needs extra prompts for income and expenses
I would like to see a few more prompts on how to enter occasional earnings such as receiving an honorarium for speaking at a seminar. Also could use more prompts on how to enter an expense like attending a conference or seminar to earn continuing education credits or upgrade training which is quite common in many workplaces. I would also like to be able to switch from one spouse to the other easily in Easystep without going all the way through one or the other's information.

Super easy to use, gets easier each year
3rd year in a row using this and each year it gets easier to use. I did my whole family's taxes in 1 hour....used to take me 4hrs.

A bit confusing at times
I like to be able to enter line items for tax deductions like the Children's Fitness Credit and have the software determine if I qualify for the maximum refund (e.g, $500). I don't like having to do the math outside of the program in order to enter the amount I think I qualify for. Shouldn't TurboTax figure this out for me?

I REALLY LIKE TURBO TAX. HOWEVER, I AM A FAN OF REFERRING TO THE WRITTEN TAX GUIDE WHICH OFTEN REFERS TO A LINE NUMBER. ALSO, I FIND THAT THE MY ACCOUNT SERVICE ON THE CRA WILL REQUEST A CERTAIN LINE OF YOUR RETURN. TURBO TAX DOES NOT GIVE REFERENCE TO CERTAIN LINE NUMBERS OF YOUR RETURN.

USED FOR YEARS...CHANGE IS DIFFICULT
ALL THE TECHICAL TAX STUFF SEEMS TO BE AOK. I EXPERIENCED A LITTLE TROUBLE AND PROBABLY WILL CONTINUE UNTIL I FIGURE OUT A LITTLE PROBLEM I HAVE. EVERYTIME I SAY CONTINUE IT GOES OUT COMES BACK AND SAYS "NOT RESPONDING" THEN A SECOND LATER I AM WHERE I SHOULD BE.
i CALLED TECH HELP AND THEY DID A GREAT JOB GETTING MY PRINTER WORKING. THE "NOT RESPONDING WILL BE WITH ME TILL THE END, OR I FIND THAT PROBLEM.
HEY IT IS A GREAT PRODUCT AND REALLY EASY TO USE.
THE TECH SUPPORT WAS EXCELLLENT AND MY REQUESTED REVIEW OF MY EXPERIENCE WILL BE AN "EXCELLENT JOB".

Needs some improvement in flexibility.
We have used this program(and its predecessor) for many years. If your income and taxes have any degree of complexity, then a program such as this is indispensable.
If filing together with a spouse, it would be helpful if the questions would deal with the first person completely before starting to enter the information for the second person. That would simplify the data entry. After the data has been entered completely for both spouses, then the optimization could be done(such as income splitting).
The program was not as user friendly this year compared to some past years.

Deceased Taxpayer Difficulties
In past years I have had no problems with the standard Turbo Tax product for both my wife and myself. However, my wife died in 2012 and I found numerous difficulties in preparing the final return for my wife and dealing with pension sharing. In my wife's return I indicated that I was doing it for a deceased taxpayer, but when it got to the shared pension section I had difficulty figuring out where to enter the amount being transferred to her return, and the electronic form 1032 did not allow me to enter the correct number of months up to her death.
This whole area really needs to be reviewed to provide better assistance to the significant number of taxpayers who find themselves in this situation.

Ease of use
I found that I had difficulty reviewing the documents once I had finished the return. I thought I had made an error and then didn't find an easy way to correct it. Once it was complete all the little icons at the top of the page disappeared....flipping the pages is easier for me.

Lot of choices - this is great.
But, when you open the Forms page and filled the columns, there is no navigation button to take you back the main page. This is frustrating.
Some times the entries do not get transfered properly into corresponding columns in other pages, for example "ohter income" does not get transferred into Gen Info page correctly.
It should automatically save the work every few minutes.

Big time help!
Turbo tax is an easy, time efficient way of doing a personal tax return. In addition, it's a lot less expensive than paying a professional to do it for you.

Used TurboTax to file my families returns.
Used the word "St.", however; kept getting a warning. Changed it to "Street" which seemed to satisfy the software as I was able to netfile all the returns.

Good program
I've used turbo Tax for many years, and it's easy to use.
The only thing I don't like, is that I sometimes have trouble finding the exact spot in income or deductions that I would like to update; this is using Easy step. So I needlessly have to scroll through several screens to get to my destination.
My other complaint is that it takes too long to scroll between screens!
Otherwise, this is a great program that I would recommend.

The program was easy to use and quite helpful in many aspects. However, I didn't like the area for medical expenses. It only really allowed for receipts to be entered. It didn't accomodate other medical expenses such as travel for medical procedures.

Medical Deductions
I would recommend that unused previous year's receipts be brought forward into the current years receipt list.
Also, when otimizing medical expenses a facility should be available to transfer the dates from the optimizing form to the medical form.

No version for the Mac. This year I installed Parallels on my iMac to run TurboTax. Next year I wouldn't buy your product unless there's a Mac version. Some errors description is quite ambigious

It would be useful if 2 returns could be open at the same time, especially for those of us who are pension splitting.
An option for printing a copy of our return to send to CRA would be helpful for those people who do not E-file.

Purchased this program months ago and did not want to use it (procrastination) as I do not enjoying the taxes every year.
When I finally got around to doing the taxes this took less than a day, even after looking for receipts.
Pretty easy to use, and straight forward.

When I tried to file my return thru netfile, I got an error message regarding my address. After much investigation, I noted that I had typed my street as St. When I spelled out the word street in full, it worked. It would be helpful if you were to indicate that to people.
