Should be able to do 20 returns - regardless of income level. Or have a purchase price that allows it.

Print out
TurboTax 2012 introduced " FILE COPY/Do Not Submit" printed across each page of of a tax printout. This is a waste of ink and in some cases it obscures an entry.
For 2013 it should be eliminated, in my view.

Easy to use.

Suggested Improvement
For older clients using TurboTax, a zoom feature on each page would be appreciated to ease reading and checking of pages and forms.

Re- Capital Gains: I had from IG Investments just the number of units redeemed, proceeds, and the Capital Gains, and the program would not let me put this in anywhere, it wanted to calculate the capital gains. This problem will keep recurring each year so why can there not be a spot to just insert the capital gains instead of having to put in other two fields that I had no knowledge about? and in frustration, gave up completely.

Out of date user interface
The format of Turbo Tax has not changed in many years. It needs to be updated with features such as back and forward buttons. Also the ability to view more than one form at a time would be very useful.
I use the "Forms" method as I am experienced in using the product and the Q&A method is too slow and tedious.

Helpful but
Minor adjustments required to make it easier and more compatible with the user approach and understanding.
Suggestions have been made in the past but no contact made or adjustments.
Last year's input was changed by the CRA due to user confusion with the step by step.

sugestions
I have a lot of medical expences and have been audited four times in a row because of that, and each time it has been accepted. On a previous net filing form there was a section at the end that allowed space for comments to the CRA. I used that space to explain my high medical expences and was not bothered that year.
So, I feel that many users would benefit from having such a feature within Turbo Tax.

Used for years and will again
Does the job. The only issues are clarity in some of the reports. For example Pension Splitting calculations work out, but do not appear right in the summaries.
Would like to see a forecast for the next tax year - it would help with pre-planning RRSPs and deciding on TD1 submissions. It should be easy using the broad assumptions that your income will hold and tax rates are the same, but would take into consideration ages of kids etc.

Some glaring faults
Good program but some faults.
1. Printing on screen is too small. Older people almost need a magnifying glass.
2.On capital gains worksheet the space for listing bonds is limited to only two lines. This is not enough and you need access to a second sheet. i had to flow a third entry down into the mortgage area.
3.Everyone is really teed off with the net filing procedure where we have some fault in our address and no one can find what it is.--really frustrating-just look at all the people complaining. You MUST fix this by giving clearer instructions at the outset.

Programme is easy touse, but:
there are too many hidden entries in the easy step process. The need to clickon things to see what lies below makes it difficult to find some items.
I paid for the programme and therefore am not impressed with the constant ad screens throught the process. If I wanted these extra services and upgrades Iwould have bought them. Move all of your advertising to a single page, out of the normal work flow.

Simple to use for the most part. The split income function could be easier if the program would simply suggest a split amount up front.
It was very difficult to find where to enter the past capital loss I wanted to use to reduce my present capital gains. If double clicking on line 253 in the T1 General form would take you straight there it would be better.
Overall everything was good and I will continue to use TurboTax in the future.

getting easier and easier

Good Product
Having used this product for at least 5 years, I must say it saves a lot of timeand makes the finished product satisfying and professional.
The most problematic areas i found is knowing at times where some items should go. The Q&As helps a bit but it's frustrating at times because the answer may fall short.

Medical Expenses???
The only issue that I had with TurboTax this year, was that it issued me a warning stating that I said that I had medical expenses. I did not choose that box. I hope that this doesn't affect my income tax return.

Improvments
Auto notation to input capital losses and income split. Add a "Planning Return" feature. Roll in current yrs info and modify for anticipated changes. Print worksheets.
