Great, but...
Please don't charge for live advice in the next version, that was a very nice and helpful feature to have in earlier versions that really completed the tax preparation package you provide. To charge for it now feels like a cash grab.

Good, but..
I found the software easy to use. much easier than my doing my taxes by hand which is what I used to do. The last 3 or 4 years I have used Turbo tax and completed my families taxes in about a quarter of the time. Changes are simple and great for trying different scenarios.
Gripes: I had warnings and errors that did not apply to me and I could not make them go away. (dealing with investments-which I am unclear on to start with) If the software identifies a problem, the link provided should take you back to the actual item and not just to the general page or location.

WTF
It carried the address forward from last years Turbo Tax, but it was not accepted for Netfile because it contained errors. It also wants to use Internet Explorer, a program that I do not use, my current version is Internet Explorer 5 and has not been updated since it was first installed. Please set this up so we can select our default browser.

Useful Tool if doing yourself
I was very frustrated trying to add Medical expenses because the date on top of the forms was for 2011 and should have been 2012 dates. Took me a long time to find this problem. This was the first year I had substantial expenses and therefore never encountered it in the last 10+ years....otherwise works well as in past years.

Radio buttons too small
Difficult to read for people with less than normal eyesight. I would suggest at least double the size of the radio buttons so it is easier to see where to click.

missing feature
I have used this software for many years and always asked Intuit to add "Copy and Paste" feature ,but so far unsuccessful!

Very Helpful
Overall we found the turbo tax software very user friendly and easy to move around. We questioned a couple of things but after discussing we came up with the required answers. We would recommend this method to others when submitting income tax - very helpful that it does all the calculating for you. Removes that human error element.

Still too stupid to handle seniors...
I try year after year, but nobody at Intuit cares that Turbo Tax asks questions that can not possibly be relevant.
- if I'm filing a return for a Senior who is not legally permitted to contribute to an RRSP, STOP prompting for RRSP contributions.
- when you've already asked, and determined, that the filer is single or widowed, don't ask about married or common-law spouses!

I found that I was "dropped" on some points and got lost. For example, never could get to "Federal Worksheet" to explain how line 301 was calculated.

Needs a User Manual
I have been disappointed for a long time that TurboTax does not supply paper copy of a users manual with the CD. I suggest putting a brief users manual with the CD and having a more detailed pdf version that can b accessed when using TurboTax.
The cardboard box supplied with TurboTax is a waste of material and inconvenient to store. All that is needed is a simple envelope.
I would like to be able to download TurboTax for 10% or more less than the cost in stores. This would save resources.

Income Tax at Home
This is the third year we have used this program. We find it excellent. It is basic and easy to follow and leads you through the whole progress. Ready "Help" assistance is available if required. The automatic calculations if wonderful.

another successful tax filing experience
I have used TurboTax for several years and find every year gets easier to file my taxes. This year I took advantage of the 1-on-1 Advice and Answers from a Tax Expert and found this tool very helpful in confirming eligible tax credits claimed. I definitely be purchasing the 2013 edition of TurboTax.

Ok but not as good as prior years
The notifications for errors were poorly given so that you were searching in the wrong place & the hints were poor eg. The error said don't put a percentage in for partnership as it was a sole proprietor but I did not have anything but system put in 0.00 and there were comments about the business numbers & it was highlighted in yellow. If the error message said see highlight in yellow - would have drawn my attention there; not to the percentage; and the problem was I had spaces in the business number - should have been an error message saying don't leave spaces - would have saved me lots of time; one exampe - another can't carry forward student load payments beyond 5 years would have been helpful - these are examples of the poor communication in errors or potential errors.

copy/paste options
For a person who has lots of medical receipts to enter, I found that the form method worked best for me. However, a copy and paste option would be nice when filling out repetetive receipt information
