Great Package
Overall the software package was great as in the last couple of years.
One slight issue is that one cannot print the page with all the summary numbers (the one with refund, UCCB and GST info).

Good Software
This is good software that makes tax filing very easy.
however, one recommendation for improvement that I have is to increase the limit of moving expenses. The software only allows a total of 2 moves, but it was necessary for me to have 3 moves for my current claim. So I was forced to not claim one of them, and I now have to carry over to 2013's return, which is not ideal.

turbo tax
is a good product, but if you select something by error, it is hard if not impossible to de-select the item....that part is a real pain,.

Standard Software 2012 Best
Found this standard return software better than last year's 'premium' software. Still problems with saving the Quebec provincial ".mrq" file, but figured out back and forth how to do it. Good to see the "File Copy" now watermarked into the copies. Good move both for Intuit and for the user.

Product Great - Needs Password Protection
I've always appreciated how quick and easy Turbo Tax is to use. The one thing missing (unless I couldn't find the answer when I looked) is how to password protect the TTF files. If my laptop gets stolen, the thief would have my SIN #.
Also, I didn't appreciate you asking for access to all my FB friends for me to enter your contest. Liking you should be enough.

Some problems exist
I had trouble filing because it won't accept my address,which was transferred from last year's return.This seemed to be a problem for a lot of people.Please fix before next year.

Dependable product for general population
I have been using Turbo Tax for quite a few years now and find it to be a very reliable tool . The step by step entry through the process makes it very easy for even the novice in computer skills. I will continue to use this product and recommend it to others as well

Worth the money
The program works as well as it has for the years I have been using it. However, this year I had done one Daughter's file, printed and filed the return with no problems. Then I started my own file (after having done an update) and could not print. The program said I had to select a printer before printing but then would not allow a printer selection or to find a printer. Very frustrating. Had to save as a PDF then load the PDF and print it.

Use every year
My only complaint is when I get to the Netfile area that TurboTax asks for information with regards to interest and income information which I think should be carry forward information.
I like that you can flag areas where you have concerns or question that might require further investigation before data is entered so you can quickly and easily return to those areas.

Itemization
I really appreciate the ability to itemize rental expenses (i.e. utilities). However, I really had to search this year to find the "F" key that took me to that feature.

Live Tax Advice is great
This year my daughter started university and got her first job. Live Tax Advice was a real time saver when it came to tuition transfer questions. It would be great if TurboTax had examples of claiming different Tuition amounts for both parties. That is, to explain what the best strategy is for tuition claiming and who should claim and what amounts.

Turbo Tax could be easier to use
I have used Turbo Tax Standard twice in a row for filing my reutrn both in 2011 and 2012. For 2011, I was thrilled, had no trouble and evrything went smoothly and nice. For 2012, instead, when I was about to be finished, a series of tax tips continue to flow again and again, many of which where confusing and weird to use. That is the part of Turbo 2012 I did not like at all. I hope Turbo goes back to the way it was for 2011. Please make Turbo Tax user friendly and I will continue to use it in the future.

It's very easy to use because it's only a matter of inputting numbers from your receipts into the blanks.
Now that I've tried Turbo Tax, I will be using it next year and saving money on accountant's and tax preparer's fees.

Optimized?
I've use TurboTax to prepare income tax returns for my wife & I. The optimizers for medical and charitable donations confused me and I know I have missed deductions by not using them correctly in the past. I wronly assumed that no other action was required, that the optimizers transferred the deductions to my wife, which they didn't. Should be easier to use, like the pension income optimizer, in my opinion. Using them correctly saved us $800 this year.
Otherwise fine.

Suggest that the form DSUM-Detailed Tax Summary-have a line on the bottom labeled "After Tax Income". That is the computation of Tax Return Line 485, which is arrived at by subtracting Line 435 [Total Payable] from Line 260 [Taxable Income]. This provides a far better set of numbers for comparative purposes than the Balance Due (Refund) line.

Very Good Product
I have been using TurboTax for a number of years now and am quite happy with the product and its ease of use. At times though, I have found the written descriptions a bit lacking and difficult to follow. An example of this is changing a field which is precalculated by the program---the description and instruction to follow to change a precalculated field does not seem to work for me, in particular changes I tried to make to the CCA fields. Otherwise, a great product.

good purchase

Verg Good but ...
Over all I was happy with the Standard Version of this software but I was diappointed when I got to the end that this version doesn't allow me to review previous year's tax information. This version would allow me to transfer it from previous the previous year. The lack of this feature will cause me to check out other software packages next year.
