Quick and painless
Turbo tax was easy to use and very user friendly. Everything is laid out nicely for you. It took me less than an hour to complete my taxes and this was the first time I have done them myself! I would reccomend this product to anyone who wants their taxes done quickly and on thier own schedule. Thanks, turbo tax, for making this process so painless.

Wierd medical expense issue without answer
Overall good experience again, except for the 2 hours I wasted trying to figure out why there was a medical expense value showing on my return when I clearly didn't enter anything for medical at all. I was tempted to pay extra for the live support, but that seemed unfair that I'd need turbo tax support for an anomaly turbo tax created.

Use it every year!
I have used Turbo Tax every year since 1996 when it was Quick Tax and it has not failed me. I love the ability to quickly move back and forth between sections and the review is very helpful too. Any questions are quickly resolved with the side bar help sections. I feel much more confident sending in my tax return knowing it will be right. And it's a relief not to have to fight with my calculator, the program does all the calculations. Love it!

easy
I wish when you print at the end it would only print necessary form t1 s1 and prov 428 . 14 pages is a waste, give an option to print any other forms but default to basics.

shortcomings
Comparisons between spouces is difficult because subject matter does not open at the same page. Instead you are forced to scroll down each page until you find the subject matter to be compared. This is useful when deciding who is to claim a particular expense or income.
Of course, the summary function at the completion of the return should be maintained.

In my opinion the persons responding to the live community are not qualified to offer advice. I think at least some of the people asking questions are assuming that they are getting responses from tax experts.

Not as easy as 2011
The .tax file would not send out of my documents folder. Ths made for a very frustrating afternoon. I did find the answer in Live Community, to put the .tax file in the downloads file and this worked. Noticed a lot of others had this same problem. You need to work on this problem.

Quality Program at a Great Price
The easy form option is the best option for me. A step by step feature to assist in filling out your taxes without no paperwork to flip through. The ease to access information to clarify cetain lines is also a godsend. It is definately a program to check out.

Unusual limitation
In the mailing address section, where your CURRENT mailing address is required: NOT necessarily the address on record for the tax year, there is no provision to enter a change-of-country address if you changed country of residence after the tax year. It is assumed that any current address would still be in Canada.

Extremely helpful
I was quite worried filing my tax return by myself for the first time but with TurboTax I think I managed just fine. All you need is to have your receipts and documents ready and away you go. Thanks TurboTax!

First Glitch in 13 years of use
Have used QuickTax which morphed into Turbo tax for 13 years now. It has worked well and is easy to use. This year was the first time I encountered a glitch (for me). I used the transfer information from the 2011 button and when I finished for 2012 and went to netfile it showed errors and wouldn't let me file. I went back and it looked like the ".00" in % of business ownership was the problem. Tried to change it to zero but it wouldn't show just 0. Looked up last years return, same thing only it worked fine in 2011. Went on line and one fellow posted that he had changed his business number from 9 digits to 15 and it worked. I looked at my business number that had been transferred by the TurboTax software and noticed that there were spaces between the groups of numbers. I took out the spaces and now everything works fine. Just finished filing.
When you go to netfile you may still get warnings about changing your name, address, etc. but just ignore them if you haven't made any changes. It mentions that you may also get this error message if you have changed some other things on your file but it won't affect Netfile.

Printing Forms
In order to print individual forms, there was no instructions supplied. I discovered that going to "File" and then "Print" allowed me to print selected forms. I was not able to locate the saved PDF file to print.

The program is very easy to use and guides you through the tax submission with easy simple questions.One major drawback is the programs failurs to auto save so if you make any misttakes you don't lose your progress.This happened to me this year and was very upsetting as the first attempt took me a couple of hours and had to be reentered.

Carrying Charges?
Safety Deposit Box fees used to be deductible (under carrying Charges) but found no place to put this in to the software. If still deductible this is a gap in the software.

Just used to it.
I use this program because I am used to it and not necessarily because I like it. Too many ads. I would never subscribe because last time I ordered electronically, I was going to have to wait and wait and wait rather than just go the store and purchase.

Great, once you can get it to work
Great product, have used it for several years. Had trouble getting it to work this year with my new Windows 8 pc. Took a while to find the fix, but once applied, the product worked fine.

Turbo Tax 2012
In most the program is fairly easy (standard product used). I was a bit frustrated that I had to keep searching for a specific deduction form as it didn't put that out as a check box for deductions. On another form I did for a family member it kept changing the actual investment amount to a higher value.. and no matter what I did it refused to accept the value entered even though you could see the value on the form.

Omega savings!
Turbo Tax is the best! I can sit at home and file my return at my pace and learn how to do it with the programs tips and guidance! For a couple of dollars I can do my taxes as easy as 123!
