Quick and Simple!
This is the first time I have tried a tax return preparation software product, and I was very pleased with the time I saved. My only suggestion is that the optimization options be better explained, but that's not a complaint. Turbo Tax Standard met my expectations completely.

good software
Pretty good software, WIN8 has a problem with menu and icons, some of the fields don't save, for some reason some fields are needed to reenter. Overall very good help for taxes calculation.

Another year...
CRA never makes anything simple, and overall Turbo Tax does a decent job of making the complex user friendly. This version did not seem as easy to navigate as earlier versions. It would be nice to see some more 'plain language'. I found it difficult to find the forms to enter pension income. Some supplementary forms appeared and printed even though I did not need them, and I asked that all unnecessary forms be closed. But, after several hours, the job is done.

First Time User
This was my first time filing with Turbo Tax. The program was pretty straight forward and easy to use. I wish it had more detail about what the qualifications for different tax credits were (I ended up Google-ing most of them). As this was my first time filing with the CRA, after I made the selection to Netfile I found out I was not eligible, but the program would not allow me to go backward and print out a 'mail in' copy of my return. It would be nice if they had a way of determining your eligibility to netfile BEFORE you were prompted to select it.

Consistently Easy Every Year
I've been using TurboTax and QuickTax prior to that for many years. The step by step guidance gets easier every year. My spouse and I don't have complicated returns but it helps to get the tax saving tips for balancing income and deductions. Some of the warnings and tips at the end lead me in a circle but otherwise, the software is easy and fast for me.

Great product
I have been using Turbo tax for 5 years now. I have never had a problem with any of the reutrns I have filed, and have always felt I claimed everything possible. The tips and warnings are very helpful. This program is so easy, anyone could use it.

Does the trick
logical, helpful, good HELP menu with online forum support.
Some pages when reviewing the return were a bit repetitive. Good to offer a "skip rest of interview " more often, once in the interview stage.
Overall fine; worth the price when you do more than one return.

Squinting
The product and functionality are good and in the years I have used it I've never had a calculation issue.
The one major issue I have with it is the fact the font used is so small. I work with a laptop and I sometimes have to squint to see what's on the screen. Either increase the font size or make it adjustable! Save your customers' eyesight. Please.

EASE OF USE
THIS YEAR THE FLOW WAS VERY SMOOTH EASY TO USE AS WELL AS TO GO BACK AND MAKE ADJUSTMENTS. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS ON THE LAST PAGE BEFORE NETFILE THERE IS A QUESTION 'DID YOU NOT HAVE ANY INCOME' WITH A YES OR NO TO CLICK, IT WOULD BE EASY TO ANSWER WRONG BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE QUESTION IS WORDED.

more then meets the eye...
The "Easy Step" process will do most of your tax returns but don't forget that you can search forms, T-Forms, and schedules using the quick find. Makes navigation easy for beginners and intermediate users.

better instructions

tuition transfer problem
TIP for next year. When a couple have two dependents in University; Turbotax makes only one parent claim both, unable to override the system. Therefore will get red-flagged and probably audited. I had to redo my files to file separately. Please fix.

Quick, easy and painless...
This is a great program and it can be used by anyone. It holds your hand through the entire process. It mentions credits you may not have thought of. It alerts you to possible errors.

Hard on eyes
Turbo tax appears to be very thorough and I have confidence that it prepares a good return. The only complaint I have every year is that the print is small and is not very vivid. Only reason I may have to look at different product in the future is that at some point I may not be able to read Turbo Tax on screen.

turbo tax 2012- standard
I was very disappointed that I was only able to download this product to ONLY 2 computers. As tax information is a very private matter it really offended me that my 2 adult children were not able to use this product without using my computer. I realize that some control is required, but 2 computers seems very stingy. I hope you will reconsider this very limiting number. I have used your program for many years and was really peeved about this.

Good product but lots of ads
As you go through your tax return, the program periodically advertises its audit defence and upgrades. This is annoying, since I paid for the product - I expect it to be ad free. Other than that, it is excellent. I have been using it for years, and have no complaints about the ease of use, accuracy and thoroughness.

I use pension sharing with my spouse, but wish to submit individual returns. The process for optimizing the amounts to split are not easy. I don't care for the section related to help taking one third of my screen. I would prefer to be able to hid this until required. I would also like the ability to print off individual forms to use as work sheets. Why can't we do this with your program?

Overall Good Value & East to Use
The software is as easy as previous versions to use. Intuit does a good job of keeping on top of software updates. The auto-checking (for problems) and suggestions (for tax savings) are wonderful.
The only problem I ran into was one that existed in the 2011 version as well (I was very disappointed the problem was not fixed this year). If you run at 100% screen DPI setting (in Windows Vista or Windows 7) the TurboTax software will not allow keyboard entry of text into ANY forms. Screen DPI setting of 125% MUST be used to avoid this problem.
4/5 stars - fix your problem for 2013 release and I would gladly give this 5/5.

Good Program
You need to make sure you answer all the initial questions properly or you will have problems later as
the program does not offer you the forms you need to fill out if you do not tell it you need to do them. I missed marking a question and had to backtrack to find where the error was.
