good purchase
It would be awesome if the print was larger or could be made larger. Fixes could be made easier by highlighting the exact spot that needs correction as I find the directions somewhat vague with highlighting disappearing when the change is made.

Slow
I found the 2012 version to be slower than last year and noticed that it only uses one processor on my PC. It should support multi-CPUs.

Standard TurboTax
Turbo Tax is easy to use. It alows you to make adjustments and see the end result in your return. It allows you to enter you and your spouses entry together and then it gives tools to show you what would happen to your return if you move amounts for say charitable donations or dependant tuition between the two of you. Turbo Tax can answer questions on specific items on an entry by selecting the highlighted words. The hints are useful. This product is value for the dollar. You will need to set aside time to sort all your slips ahead of time so that the entry is smooth.

Preparing Personal Tax Returns
Started doing my own tax returns with Quick Tax 2001 to 2009 then Turbo Tax in 2010-2012 and all were very user friendly. If a question or problem arose Intuit.ca were there to address and correct the problem.

great to use but getting more expensive
Turbotax is a great product to use and easy to use. My only issue with it is that this year you actually had to pay to have the live advice section when last year it was free and also they are always pushing for one more thing that you should buy for ex the next version.

excellent for straight forward tax returns
I find turbo tax is a good value. one thing I am not sure about is why the cost is the same in the store as it is online. to me if I am willing to by online the savings that turbo tax has with online sales should be passed on to us. I don't find the community question adn answer section of any value at all. if these questions were answered by one of the pro's I think it would be much more valuable.

Takes Away Tax Pain :)
I've been using Turbo Tax since it was introduced...and prior to that I used QuickTax. Ituit keeps improving the software and makes it easy to use...for the most part.
One thing that was changed, however, is the way medical receipts are entered. I do not like the 'one-by-one' method where everything has to be typed in repeatedly for each new receipt. I like when I could 'copy and paste' the doctor or pharmacy name because that made entry of receipts easier. Unfortunately, the new method is tedious. You can do the 'one entry' amount of the total amount of your receipts, but I prefer to see each receipt listed, just in case, in a future year I get confused about which receipt I claimed the previous year.

Alimony and Child Support Deduction
My only suggestion for improvement with this product would be under the 'Income' section - the checkbox for 'Alimony and Child Support Payments' (Received) is hidden under the cover of 'other income' in a the category of investments. It needs its own check box for the sake of clarity! PLEASE!
Also, it would be better (for when doing spousal returns) if the font for the name of the person was larger and more prominent on EVERY page. Although it is in a different colour on some pages, it's just not obvious enough.

Confusion
I was really confused when I wanted to NETFILE my reutrn and I was told that I had to remove certain changes I had made. Then when I tried to remove them I could not. I had to reboot the computer to be able to remove these changes. Easier step by step with explanation is needed here.

cumbersome
I find this softwarew awkward to use whenever you want to find a particular point in any of the sections. For example if I want to view the review at the end of sections where one is available, I still have to go to that section and click all the "continue"buttons to get to the final page of that section, to see the review.

Window 8 problem
Turbo Tax wants to update itself but Windows 8 won't let it. Why didn't Intuit foresee this problem and fix it? Increasing numbers of people have Windows 8 now.

T-slips
When using easy step. All the boxes that appear on the paper version of the T-slip should be visible on the data entry screen. I had trouble entering some of the boxed information because I had to go back to the Forms view to find the box I needed to enter the information.

Solid User Friendly
This product costs a bit of money but you get visually pleasant and user frlendly tool. My pet peeves are that I couldn`t get the program in French and when entering amounts, you have to enter them with a comma (,) to separate the dollars and the cents...(really annoying). That would be enough for me to try another product. Though I like everything else.

Not too bad
I buy Turbo tax every year and I find it fairly easy to use except I havent figured out how to easily go back and enter information that I forgot or that wasnt asked for. The only way is to go back, back, back etc then go forward through it all when you have fixed the problem!
Other than that I love using this and find it pretty straight forward.

I WOULD LIKE IF THE DONATIONS AND MEDICAL EXPENSES WERE MORE EXPLAINED AND WHEN IT IS BEST TO CLAIM THEM. TO SHOW THE MINIMUM NEEDED TO CLAIM THEM IN ORDER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE ON INCOME TAX. MAYBE THE ALLOWABLE MAXIMUM COULD ALSO BE MENTIONED.
