works well but hard to read
The font could be bigger - a LOT bigger.
It would be great if you could scroll up and down the interview pages instead of having to use the scroll bar.

Makes tax preparation about as easy as possible
TurboTax worked well for my return. It guided me through all of the hoops and helped me enter the necessary information to complete my return. Tax law is full of a lot of difficult jargon, but there is a help page for almost everything that you will have to enter.

# of returns
The # of returns should be 20 regardless of income... i always run out of those over $25000 and have to buy more even tho, I have licenses left.

Filing much easier than prior years.
Last year you had too have the access code from the previous year ..
This year just have to have enter the SIN # and DOB
and sve the fie as ".tax"

Easy Steps
I found it fairly easy to use Easy Steps to prepare my taxes. I was planning on taking a couple of days to complete them, but was able to do them in one afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised.

Over the years TurboTax has gotten much easier to use. I have one complaint. We have quite a few medical expenses and I cannot find away to print out the complete medical expense sheet. It only wants to print out the first page. I would like to review the second page but cannot find a way to do this.

Improve the grey text
The tiny grey text is extremely hard to read for anyone with less than perfect vision. You need to remember the demographics as well as the fact that many people of all ages have some form of visual impairment!

OK but limited
It works well but has some obvious limitations. Examples:
1. After all these years it continues to display birth date in opposite order from Netfile
2. It continues to make one go through tips and Warnings which a little self-examination would show are unnecessary such as medical and cahritable as well as credit claims where income is clearly too high
3. On the other hand, it doesn't highlight items which are more obscure like loss carry forwards and back where the facts require their consideration

Which tax return am I working on?
It would be really helpful if the person's name was located somewhere in the top line. When I am doing a return for each person in my family, I sometimes forget whose return I am working on. Otherwise, I find the software easy to use.

Good Program
Iwould recommend improvement in the review section. Once you have optimized your medical and donations and/or your pension splitting it would be nice if the program confirmed your selections and did not continue to ask you the same question in exactly the same way. It makes me think I have not completed the optimization (in the review section) correctly and I keep trying to go back and fix it when it is already correct.

I have purchased Turbo Tax Standard for the past several years, so eay to use, excellent help tools, and great price!!! wise choice
I continue to use Turbo Tax simply because of the ease of use and the amount of returns they allow you to do. We purchase as a family and we can all get our returns done for a low rate. It's easy to use step by step instructions and lets you know when there could be errors.

Would not load on my computer!
I have been using this program since 2008, so I was very disappointed when the 2012 disc would not run or load on my computer. I had to spend 30+ minutes on the phone to get things working. The disc never did work, I had to download the program directly with the help of an operator, who was very kind, patient and helpful btw! In the end, it all worked as it should. I think this is a common problem this year for users with older computers??

Good, but functionality issues this year
I use TurboTax every year, but this year is the first time I saw functionality issues. If you went through the interview and answered yes or no to something (in my case moving expenses and student loans) then had to go back and change your answer the program didn't update properly. I had to restart my return because I couldn't get out of the moving expense screen when I realized I didn't qualify. Then I had to go back to put in my loans and that screen wouldn't come up.

First Year with a Glitch
I've used TurboTax (and Quicktax) for years. This is the first year I had a few glitches. First of all constant requests for approval of use of Java during the final stages of filing (and completion of this review :)
Secondly, issues occurred with a first time filer in our family. We could not Netfile (CRA was contacted) so a paper return had to be completed.
Other than that, worked well considering the complexity of our family situation. I'll probably continue using it in the future.

Solid program
TurboTax is an easy to use, very straight-forward program. I've used it for several years now and it handles everything I need it to with ease (buying a new house, having kids, investments, etc.). There's always room to improve it, but each year it gets a bit better than the previous year, and I have yet to have any major issues.
I'm happy to suggest it to my friends and family, and I think it's the best solution on the market right now.
