Would like
1. In the old editions you could toggle between spouses, and there was always an indication as to which spouse' return was on screen. This seems to have disappeared.
2. Would like to be able to print one item e.g. the tax summary. This doesn't seem to be possible with the current edition.

Desperate Filer
The cost could be less cost to purchase this program and I never checked online for any other programs which could have been cheaper. I trusted the brand since it is widely known and used.

First timer
First time preparing my own tax return. I can't believe I waited all these years. The program made filling everything out so easy. If you are at all comfortable in front of a computer screen I'd say give it a go.

multi-year user
This years version did not load as simply as previous years. I required assistance to load the software but it performed well through the filing process. I closed the software before filing and was unable to open again without IT assistance. I tried again to open the product again a week later without using the IT method and it opened allowing me to file my return.

Easy steps makes sure you have likely covered everthing that is important. Answering the questionnaire is a little tedious, less graphics, bigger click boxes would make improve accessiblity, but overall it's fine.

Tricky but effective
I really enjoyed how well the program optimized the information I inputted. I had to play around to figure out how to share information between spousal returns. Overall, I was pleased with what I was able to acomplish.

good product - interface could be better
- I always find the fonts a little small.
- You cannot Zoom in and out
- When preparing couples returns at the same time; the name of the return you are looking at should be some type of HEADER, so you know you're looking at the right return; name should be more PROMINENT.
- Navigation could improve a little more friendly when using easy-step.
- It should include the ability to search the active tax return.

Good tool
This was an easy tool to use for the most part. In a couple of cases the language was difficult to use. For example, there was a double negative question about not having no income which got rather confusing. Fortunately, if you answer incorrectly the system flags it for you.

I have used the Quick Tax to Turbo Tax for about 10 years. I find it very user friendly. I use the easy step just to make sure. I wish it would transfer more of the information from each year but its good.

User Friendly Tax Software
I was happy with the step-by-step feature, it was user friendly and it was easy to come back to where I left off once I had the information. Also there were explanations along the way. The only glitch was getting the Access code to file - that didn't flow too well, but it worked eventually. And I would have liked the option of printing it all out and handing it in, but that didn't seem to work to well either. I have trouble saving it too .tax until I was actually efiling, although I could PFD. it as soon as I was done. But all in all, I was happy with the product and would probably use it again.

Great tool for personal tax returns
I found the turbo tax software very useful. Five members of my family used the software to file their income tax. We did not have to pay someone to prepare our taxes. Good savings.

Very good, but needs updates for managing deceased
Turbo Tax has a lot of tax advice built into it. I was submitted for my Mom this year who passed away in November. It would be very helpful to make it very clear which marital status is required to submit a form for a deceased person. It took me sometime to come to the conclusion that I needed to put in Married as the status since the question asks marital status as of Dec 31st, 2011 when she died in Nov 2011. Otherwise, lots of great hints and tips to ensure all programs are taken advantage of... Thanks, Brad...

Use of Turbo tax
I have been a user of Quick Tax for years and had little difficulty to attapt to Turbo Tax. I think Quick tax automatically searched for previous years tax returns and made transferring personal data almost automatic. In this year's Turbo Tax I manually entered all the data before I discovered the transfer of information feature

Worth The Money and Effort.
The Family uses the program and it is helpful with the easy step. When the program hiccups you can always go straight to the forms and slips that have been filled and edit. The ease of use is great, and the price and value for your money is excellent. Much better then a pencil and eraser of the old days.

There seemed to be some problems with the Save function as I lost data sometimes. I couldn't figure out the pattern for this.
Also, why, on the Netfile procedure, did I have to determine the split between mortgage and interest income? Should this have been done in the forms?

It has always got my taxes done and I feel the returns are as good as any pro could do. There still is little tax lingo the government and the program use which is confusing at times but being able to the refer to last years tax return on my computer and compare it to this years return allows me to remember how I answered the question last year when I get warnings or errors. Not changing things from year to year makes this possible.

It's OK but confusing and frustrating
Compared to other tax prep applications, this one was at times more confusing and frustrating, but it worked in the end. I wish that it was easier to get at the actual forms and make changes on them. The app seems to want the user to go through the question/answer format as opposed to entering information directly, which I would prefer, followed by any suggestions by the app.
