Got the Job Done
Long time user of previous product - QuickTax.
Found a couple of areas where scroll wheel did not function and had to use scroll bar.
It would be helpful to give cutoff levels [eg. Seniors credit] for income when you will not qualify, to avoid unnecessary calculations on line.
Some help details could be more complete.

TINY PRINT!!
The product is very good, I have used it for years. Only complaint is that the print font size is WAY TOO SMALL. And there is no way to increase the size ... i.e. ability to set View to 125%. Please change this for 2012!

Good product, but problematic with updates
I've used this product for several years, and have grown to know it pretty well. Wouldn't ever go back to manual preparation, as this product saves so much time. I would recommend it highly. The only thing I would say is weak is the updating. Each and every time I tried to update the 2011 software I was required to delete the program and re-install it. Kind of a pain in the neck. Hopefully the 2012 version is stronger in this regard.

Much improved Help section
I have used TurboTax for over 5 years now. In my opinion, the best version yet. I noticed a marked improvement in the quality of the Help section. Answers were relevant.

Good Product for specific user
This is a good product overall. I have been using it for years. However, as I get older, the text keeps getting smaller and smaller and there is no way to make them bigger. Because of this, I am now open to trying other products for next year's return.
If you have difficulty reading small prints, I suggest you try a different product.

Better than the rest
I've been using Quicken's tax return software ever since it was first released (1984?). I've also looked at other tax prep software over the years. Turbo Tax is the most complete. Since I use the forms, I can't comment on the walk through, but being able to click on a line to take you directly to the entry form is wonderful. Still, the warnings aren't limited to what is actually entered on your return & that can be confusing.

Getting Better Each Year
This is the third or forth year I have used TurboTax and I find Intuit is making it easier and easier to use. I like the ability to import previous tax returns or other files when building your return.

Interview sequence
I found it difficult to get to specific entry pages in the interview without going through each section over and over, so lots of time was wasted. There was one form I wasn't able to correct, so I left it as it was. Hopefully it's correct as transmitted.

Medical Receipts
One suggestion that Turbo Tax should consider is the input of medical receipts into each box area...takes a long time. There must be a simpler way to completed this process similar to an excel spreadsheet. One has to keep typing the same information in. As well there is no area to put in a full years worth of info as it each must be dated.

Generally a straight-forward program, does what it's supposed to do. However, I don't understand why it can't calculate the optimum balance for transferring unused credits and/or deductions from one spouse to the other; instead, I have to go in and edit them manually, to see whether it makes a difference, and where the sweet spot is if so.

Turbo Tax Standard
Used to spend a couple of days wading through all the papers and forms that had to be filled out... and then spend even more time going through all the figures looking for calculation errors. Now all that's necessary is to plunk in the amounts as they appear on the T slips and all the work is done for me.

Improvement Item
One improvement item:
Help talked about Charitable Donation Optimizer. But no where, in Help, did it tell you how to invoke the Optimizer. Finally found that it was part of EasyStep.
A suggestion. the Charitable Donation Optimizer would be useful to be able to invoke this tool anytime, not only within EasyStep.

Consistant Performer
Year after year Turbo Tax has done the job. Features
are the same from year to year. No surprises.
Not much new to learn each year. For a program that you only use once a year consitancy is important.

finding files a little problem
good product but there is a glitch...when you update and have more than one tax file, when you go back in you see only 1 file. You have to restart and go in to see all the tax files in turbo tax. Once you know what to do it is easy but the first time I almost had a heart attack....where did my stuff go...lol...they should put a memo with update to alert you of the problem.

Users questions should be answered by Turbo Tax employees and then others if they have some insights too- but experts are what is needed most.

The Help Component
In some areas I found I could not get answers to my specific questions. However, I believe that this may be because "help" did not recognize my 'keyword'.
Otherwise, Turbo Tax is, in my opinion, a good programme. I have used it every year since 2001 when it was named Quick Tax.
