stuck in loop
the phone in help was great it was less than 5 minutes to talk to a person who listened then walked me though the loop I was stuck in .

only one problem
I had a problem with back up. When I back up to USB stick to save program does not revert to on computer program . I believe it should.

Best Purchase Ever (almost)
This program works well as intended. It might be almost perfect if the type font sizes were larger or adjustable, and if the online 'help' could be a bit more helpful. This is useful software in every respect.

No pain in the butt
This is what I call Tax made easy. This package does as good a job as any professional tax preparer for a fraction of the price with minimal time. As a matter of fact, it is quicker than going to a professional. You do not have to be an accountant or a tax expert to use this package - it is that user-friendly.

Finally finished

Hard to read
Many of your repeat customers are getting older. I would urge you to increase the size of your fonts as well as the BOLD (darker) aspect of the text. Far too much of your text (like this very one here) is small and pale. Several hours of squinting at a computer screen is not a pleasant experience. This is a digital on screen format so no need to scrimp on ink and paper is there.

Suggested improvements
1. Include in the search list phrases such as "Loss Carry forward" that are used in the program but do not show up in the "Take me there" boxes. There are many.
2. Add two more columns to the summary page so we can see both spouses current and prior year data.
3. And the really nice to have would be a more detailed summary page as a spreadsheet ehere we can do "what ifs". For example, my wife and I have both individual and joint investment accounts and a joint loan for investments. It would be nice to see the eeffect of one or other taking all the joint income and/or expense. etc.

Turbo Tax is a good product that leads you easily through the process of achieving your best return. It would be even better if you could jump more easily back and forth between claimants and sections to see the effect of alternate claim scenarios, especially when filing joint returns. AND -- and it's a big AND --
Intuit should offer a bigger cost break than that already available at the local big box chain or office supply to loyal return customers willing to buy direct. Surely your cost much be far lower and your profit margins far higher for direct purchases. How about a break for your loyal direct-buy customers? We'll be back, and we'll recommend you, but we're a little less enthusiastic about buying direct when we see the price just down the street.

The only problem I had was with the shared pensions. There is a big variation in tax owing depending on who does the sharing. By doing it both ways to see the benefits I lost information, or added information twice and it took time to keep reviewing and correcting.
Could this be calculated in the program and show the best way depending on net income as it is with the "Who claims medical expenses"?

The software is excellent, excelpt that the ability to report and align between various fields for review with an accountant is somewhat limited.
ie. there should be a report which shows every field inputted, and where it is used in the totals.

Excellent with One Small Glitch
I find Turbo Tax very user friendly with lots of appropriate support questions to make the most of my applicable exemptions. I've used it for 2 consecutive years & have had one small problem both years. When I am asked whether I want to print my tax return before filing via NETFILE, I am unable to do so from the Turbo Tax Website. I must close it and print it later from "My Documents". This is also a problem when filing via NETFILE as I am unable to print the confirmation page so have to note the confirmation number manually. Other than that I am more than happy with this software & would recommend it highly.

avoid the struggle

Better font size and colour needed

OK . . . But always leaves me wondering
I have used QuickTax and TurboTax for many years. I am always left wondering if I might have missed something. This is caused by the process of answering questions when I'm left wondering if there should not be other questions to answer. For example, it asks if I've paid for Management Fees for investments, but offers no help in telling me HOW to find out if I have! In other words, please offer links to clarify how to answer a question one way or another.
