Another Tax Experience
Filing tax time is here again, never a pleasant task but has to be done. I have used Quick Tax/Turbo Tax for quite a few years and I find it makes the tax filing go pretty good. Any mistakes have always been my own.
If you are looking for an easy tax program it is good value, need a couple of friends to also use and share the cost, even better.

Saved Money

Easy as Pie
Once again this software allowed my whole family to submit their taxes.
The multi (2) host install is very good.
The limits set on number of returns filed are generious
The guided return is quick and even a first time user can follow them.

A lot of the automatic prompts for credits that were there in 2010 seem to be gone. It seemed I had to do more research on my own in terms of whether I was 'eligible' for different things, whereas the program used to prompt me with questions to determine that automatically in prior years. I came out of this year's return less confident than ever that I did not make errors.

My only complaint about this program is it does not walk you through any portion for apprentices. Would be nice to have a question included in the schooling/ tution catagory.

Consistent year after year
This program has helped me get over the hurdle of filing my tax return in a new Province.
Having moved from Quebec to Ontario last year, I was not certain on how to file

Compatibility with Mac
We love the program but recently changed from PC to MAC; very dissappointed in that we can use the program but cannot save our tax returns on our own computer; only on your server. This needs to be addressed so that Mac users can operate the same as PC users.

Reasonably Good
Overall useable, but a couple of issues. In your main screen where all of the steps for Easy step appear, you should be able to just click on any one of those icons instead of having to go up to the top of the screen.
Also, once you choose the rental property income choice you can't seem to get rid of it, even by going back to beginning and starting all over again. It should be eliminated if you don't enter any data into those fields.

I like the Easy Step and the Forms options. I have been showing my teenage kids how tax returns work and this program has been a great way to demonstrate the process.
The RRSP tool is excellent and I have used it for many years.
I like the Review steps; they simplify what could be a complicated process.

Constructive Criticism
I think it would be useful for a "continue" button at the top of the screen as well, and that doesn't move back and forth, so if you want to go back to a certain deduction in easy step, it is, well, easier.

As a visually impaird person the font colour should be black and a bit bolder. Consider contacting the CNIB for recommended font styles and sized.
