TurboTax Standard
This program walked me through the steps easily and without any previous experience with a tax package. Could easily navigate and go back to sections and change or modify. Used chat and phone support and agents very helpful.

medical expenses
I have used this product for many years and I am very happy with it.It is very user- friendly.I experienced what i think is a glich this year withmedical expenses where I got a warning that I could get audited because my medical expenses were over 5% of income when in fact that was not the case. I ignored the warning.

Don't fix what ain't broken!!
Hey!!
Thank you guys for keeping your format simple and straightforward. If only all institutions/organizations and such could take the same approach to difficult scenarios that you guys do. I believe that if you folks handled city planning there would be no red lights, if you were physicists there would be perpetual motion machines on every block.
Please oh please don't fix what ain't broken. Just keep pumping out great products like this one.

Fairly easy to use
This is my first time using TurboTax, found it fairly simple to use, however it would be nice to be able to alter if you wanted to file together or seperate once you've started.
Program had all the benefits I needed and they weren't hard to find.

Makes Filing Taxes a Breeze!

2011 Tax Season
The new format to easy steps was really easy to navigate. Thought the process was not too painful. Hardest part was finding all of the documents. Maybe you can invent a program to search out all the documents that we leave around the house? Great product which makes filing taxes extremely easy.

Good tool but not a gospel
I used the program and found it kind of user friendly however there were certain things that it miss led me on. It was fortunately that I has someone that redirected the way I made the claim for deduction. Always ask if you have questions.

Easy to use
I've been using quicktax/turbo tax for years. It's easy to use. I use the step by step guide. Very rarely do I ever need to add a separate form.
The easiest and cheapest way to do my taxes for sure. I did them all in one evening.

Side bar help
I prefer in the older versions that the help on the side bar was the actual tax information. The online community answers can be from anyone and wrong, as I have seen. I think the sidebar information should be only correct, verified and helpful information and if you want further opinions or understanding you can choose to contact the community.

Can't print or copy
The 2011 version won't allow us to print a page as we see fit or to copy and paste information. This is not approecited and should be remedied as it could be a deal breaker in purchasing this product going forward, which is a big deal as I've been using it for over 10 years.

Problems
The program works fine but there are two things I don't like.
It does not enter the correct name of my province which is Newfoundland and Labrador. The name of the province was constitutionally changed over ten years ago and it is insulting not to use it correctly on official documentation.
This program take about 5 minutes to load. There is no indication of it working until it finally pops up.

easy to use tax software
I have used turbotax for several years and I like it. The only thing I would improve on is have hints/alerts to tax savings pop up in brighter print, etc.. For example when reporting pension income the first time I entered my info I didn't get a 'hint' to split the income with my spouse...but when reviewing my info I noticed a hint in small writing that suggested I split.... Maybe it's my eyesight but if the alert/hint would pop up right away or even at the end in tax saving hints but in BIGGER bolder writing it would help. I also didn't like the new 'home page' with the sections in the semi circle.... I found it less user friendly than older versions.

Great results for over 20 years. Only complaint is, on medical expenses, if I had taken the advice to file under lowest income spouse, my refund would have been $200 less. Easy to catch though as the refund amount was displayed at the top corner and I saw it drop as I moved the claim from one spouse to the other.
I am on the automatic renewal plan and saw the product selling for up to $10 less in stores.

Helpful Software
TurboTax is easy to use, and I feel confident in the accuracy of my tax return.
It does auto-fill many forms that are unnecessary for the return, and it would be nice if users could delete these forms if desired to help streamline the process. Many people will automatically print all of these unnecessary forms, and that is a real waste of paper.

Support and Concern
Support
As previously pointed out, via letter last year, there are times when support should be more accessible in case CRA has made changes to the return later in the year.
Concern
My older desktop computer running XP Pro crashed while preparing the 2011 return and I have not been able to restert it to date. The return has now been prepared on a new laptop using Windows 7.

Hopefully Helpful
TurboTax Standard is a great product, however, as the boomer generation is aging you need to address entering data for a deceased person's final return in greater detail. Currently the best method is manual, as that is the way it has to be mailed.

Ease Of Use
I have been using Quick Tax/Turbo Tax for a number of years now and have always had good results with it. It is easy to use, ensures that I don't forget anything and the net file option makes filing the completed forms fast. I would highly recommend this software .

Suggestions
The most significant issue that applies to me and thousands of others living in Quebec near Ottawa and working for the Federal government in Ottawa is the way PWGSC issues the Quebec releve 1 form.
I don't know any Turbotax users who are not confused when trying to enter ther R-1 slip info into TurboTax. I'm sure many TurboTax users would appreciate anything you can do to make it easier to enter this data. Also very annoying to pay a higher price for TurboTax Standard than the retail price at WalMart. Why not offer the Wal-Mart price to repeat customers who buy directly from you online?

a little confusing
In certian fill in the blanks i had questions and they were answered but still when i follwed the instructions given it still would not do as i was prompeted to do so for example the subject of the uccb it said to fill in the blank to whom had the lowest income of the yr which was my wife. and when i got to the end of filing my report it told me to go back and change that. Beacause it only applied to ppl whom were single but when i went back to change that it still told me to put that under whom ever made the lowest earning that yr . so that was a a confusing issue

Worth it!
i have used TurboTax for many years now and it is the only way to go! It asks you all the right questions to file an accurate tax return with the minimum effort. No worrying about having missed something.

Better every year
I have used this product for the past several years. It gets easier every year. Better value for money if several members of the family all file returns electronically without the hassle of paper mailing. Also significantly reduces time to get your refund.

It would be beneficial for 2012 Turbo Tax to have a pop up calender so entering dates may be easier also an autofill feature may be beneficial when filling out repetative information other than keep up the good work and make the software easier to use if possible
