First Time User
I found that this was an okay software to use. The only question I ask myself is, "Did I get the best possible return?". I ask this because in the prevuous year, when I filed with my accountant, I recieved 57% more than this year when I filed by myself. Anyhow, this is my first time, and I this software helped me very much in understanding the tax return process.

First time user
This is the first time we used TurboTax and we were quite pleased by it! We will definitely use it again next year! Ofcourse with something using something "new" we were a little nervous as we always had someone else prepare our taxes. We really liked the help menu!

please make for Mac
The only thing that would make this better is if it worked on a Mac. Very frustrating to have to load up 8 year old computer to have to do my taxes each year! Please makie a version for a Mac.

QUITE EASY

Once again... filed Tax

good but could be a little more intuitive
I've used these products for years and I always find a few sticking points although they do seem to get better year after year and this was the best experience yet.
I did have one sticking point however, we did not qualify for an eligible dependant but somehow it kept pegging one of our kids as an eligible, even after I'd used the 'guide me' feature this still remained. I have no idea what triggered it, but I had to go through a process of saying I wanted to claim my child as elligible and then when that step came along had to anwser 'no' to get them to drop off. I did not see this error til the end and not sure how it got their, could have been easier, ie. just ask me a yes or no answer to clear the error??
Another thing I would like to see for convenience is a simple pop-up calculator or a widget on the side for adding up receipts.

I have been using your product for many years. It is very easy step by step instructions, and offers solutions on how to look for ways to get better returns on your income tax. It used to be Quick tax.
You need to change your options on status of if your married, single etc. You need to add Widow'd.

Best bang for your Buck
I have been using Quick/Turbo tax for around 10 years and enjoy the option of netfiling one return if there is a refund and mailing the other if there is a payment so one pays the other.the direct deposit is fast and the returns are always accurate,The info carry over is a nice feature to as taxes are a pain to do .

no calculator needed
Couldn't download tax info from Quebec so I had to enter the information which took a little longer than
if it was already there, but its still great not having to do the calculations.

overall great software
the only thing i would like to see change is having an easier way to navigate to previously entered information. the tabs on the top are helpful, but having to go through the pages one by one instead of having a list to click from is annoying. that change would make this a thousand times faster & bette rin my mind!

Ease of use
Turbo tax is fairly easy to use and covers most situations. however they forget how many trades people exit in Canada and left the part of tool tax exemptions out of their options for deductions thefore making it hard to find out hoe to get that deduction onto the form.
the rest of it works well.

Will be nice if...
It would be great if we could send .tax file directly from the TurboTax dashboard.
It would be also handy to have direct deposit and or make a tax payment from TurboTax dashboard.

the only way to do your own taxes
I am of an age when we did our taxes with a pencil, what a confusing and frustrating adventure that was. I have used turbotax for a few years and I am so pleased with how easy it is. Thanks turbotax and sorry tax lady, I wont be needing your services again this year.
