I have been using this program for years but seem to have difficulty every year when I netfile with the proper format; I save it in *.tax but then I am unable to open this file..I always have to get help from an IT person!.

Makes filing process easier and fast.
Turbo tax software is excellent value for its cost, eliminating the long, painstaking detail work out of manually completing ones' tax return. It is especailly advantageous when filing joint returns sharing when income with a spouse.

Reliable
Easy to use, and about the only complaint is a bit around the interface. The next/back buttons jump all over the place, rather than letting you scroll back and forth smoothly.

Well worth the purchase price
Easy to Use. Only one problem: Foreign addresses with house names rather than only numbers, do not show up on the monitor as completely in the first section and the last section of the TurboTax standard version.

Easy to use, but Restricting
Taxes were a breeze. It goes over everything in easy to follow steps and makes sure you haven't messed anything up. The only concern for me is the number of computers (only 2) you are allowed to install the software on. I have already paid - If I am allowed 8 returns per disc, let me share them with friends and family!

Beats going to somewhere to get it done
I like the fact that I can start on my schedule be interupted by phone calls, go out to help a neighbor,, run to a neighboring town to fill a prescription, drive my wife to work and return and finish it the same day. After supper print it and put in the envelope to send on monday.

Easy to Navigate
I like how easy it is to navigate back and forth. However, remember or write down where your file is saved for NET FILE it makes it easier to find when you hit the Browse button on CRA site.

Really easy to walk through
I was a bit concenred with other new income sources after retirement but it was easy to adjust with the guides. Pretty straight forward even without the enhanced versions.

Great product
Some weird quirks with entering medical claims. Can't delete lines once saved. Also kinda goofy form to input info. The tax form is better than their input form. But, I've been using this product for at least 10 years and still find it easier than doing it on paper.
I do recommend.

Fast and easy

Wonderful Product
Very easy to use and takes you step by step through the process of filing your return. The price was great and I would recommend Turbo Tax to everyone. Way cheaper then going to any accounting firm.

I liked Quicck Tax last year better than this year. It was I wanted to see what would happen if I went and bought an RRSP what would happen with my Taxes and I never did get to see the bottom line) So I preferred 2010 Quick tax much better.

I think this would be a better product if when using the various 'optimize' options, you were actually informed that it had been applied and the difference it created noted somewhere.
If this is too complex to do, then at the summary section of the process, if the software was designed to ask you to optimize tax savings on the whole return or not again, that might catch some missed opportunities as well----if a no answer is received, then allow the user to customize the return through another series of questions.
Generally a good program but could be better.

Sometimes I get upset when Turbo Tax inputs numbers that I know are not on my forms; but I think these are just automatic and you always have a chance to make the corrections - if you're paying attention and catch them.

Good purchase, IF...
Good purchase if you and your husband are both and have been for the entire tax year, perminant residents of Canada. My husband was not even in Canada for most of the year, and became a resident in November, and there were no options at all for our situation. It made some things confusing. I have finished the process and have been left unsure if I filled everything out properly because of this. Other than that it was very easy, the program guides you through the steps and tons of information is available throughout.

ease of use
As usual Turbo tax seamlessly imported our personal data from the previous year. When prompted for any changes in our residence I clicked no changes but this still came up as a warning several times before Netfile was used.

Awesome Product But...
There is still no software available for MAC computers. I know there is the online service, but not really comfortable with putting my SIN, income and other tax info into an online database. How long before some cyber crook hacks into these files.
