Defects to be corrected
The Form Search feature is not good at all. The list of form names available for search do not match the real CRA form name. Sometimes the search result does not yield the correct form.

Where is TOSI
The only way I could tick the TOSI boxes is when I did the review. I tried for hours and googled how to access the TOSI but everything I found online, including info from Turbo Tax website, didn't work. Why can't I access this?

good product very poor support
ive used the same product many years without issue till this year. the software would not accept my rrif income and i called for support twice with no resolution and very poor service. i figured out how to get around the issue myself but was really disappointed in the lack of customer service and the knowledge (or lack of) of the help agents.

Dissapointed
I have been using Turbo Tax for years and never had a problem but this year some of the finished taxes did not save. I can not find them anywheres on my computer. When I went to print the taxes that did save it printed all 32 pages even though I answered yes when I was asked if I wanted to close unnessary pages. Not sure of I will use Turbo Tax again.

good until there's a problem
Turbotax is fine as long as nothing goes wrong. I was charged twice for a single return a few years ago, and it was virtually impossible to talk to a human being for help. The online forums and program help are useless. I never did get the issue resolved.
The program is also unable to process eligible retiring allowances that are part of a severance package paid out in January or February if the person does not have RRSP contribution room.

Too many ads
Every other page it seems like they're trying to upsell tax experts or "Audit protection". Not just once or twice, like 6 times through a single return process. Its heavy handed and the executive that thought it was a good idea should be fired.

Works, but flawed
Can't go back to Canadian Workers Benefit page to correct, program freezes if it can't contact CRA to download data, freezes if 2nd person of 2 is trying to contact CRA 9and has not filed as representative), index has empty pages, search doesn't work for all content.

No ability to select "not resident in CMA area". Also program doesn't allow "cut & paste".
Also should guide you better when you have to choose either yourself or your spouse for deductions when that it applicable.

tax questions
I have been using the Turbotax many years.
I was able to write questions to the Turbotax experts and got good answers, then it was changed to talk to the experts, they were still good. I couldn't find any body to talk to this year. If I can't to talk to the tax experts, I don' t need to buy the product. Trying to get answers to my questions from the "community" is almost joke.

TT Optimizers
Be careful with the Optimizers and Carry over amounts. I don't think the Optimizers integrate very well as you have to run each one again when a change is made.

Caution if filing from Quebec
Every year I have problems filing my Provincial taxes. No problem if you are only filing the Federal tax.

Needs user friendly & COMPLETE Tslip schedules. Requires spreadsheet style entry for T5008 including copy-paste. Include TSlip entry lists with ALL input fields. Provide pointers @ Tslip entry stage as to where Tslip data resides in CRA Schedule.
I tried Premier version -- waste of money; no extra capabilities for normal financial investments.

I wish there was more Marketplace competition
Although not having to do the math is a great blessing, never-the-less the Interview Method still needs refining. Since I lost my wife to illness this year, I found not enough care was taken with the interview questions to enable me to correctly fill out the tax form... for instance one question asked: Did your spouse live with you throughout 2022, Yes or No. Since my wife passed away in June, I answered "No." The software then assumed the we were separated and living apart. If I answered "Yes," that meant I spent over 6 months living with a corpse. Highly insensitive questioning... Plus when you change your mind on elective strategies and try to go back and make those changes in the Profile Section, it's actually too late... the software is going to print every blessed sheet anyway. It really doesn't matter that you asked to CLOSE any unused pages. My printed file copy was actually just over 3/4" thick. BIG WASTE OF PAPER!!! And another thing: When I tried to Netfile my Return, the Software said I had the incorrect NAICS BUSINESS CODE. Really? How does it know? There are literally 10's of 1000's of NAICS codes and the one I selected was the most appropriate and was also the one I have used for years and years without any blowback from CRA. It took me a day and a half to put something else in its place that I feel was actually quite wrong just so I could Netfile my Return and not have to mail 2 lbs. of paper.

Excellent software but...
The program itself is very easy to use and the steps are easy to follow.
If you have an active CRA account it even automatically transferred all my T4 data they had on file!
Filing online was easy as well!
HOWEVER:
The turbotax packaging and Benefits chart was misleading. Basic DOES NOT allow for charitable donations even thought the chart says it does. My mother had to get me to file on my Standard copy ... they wanted to charge her to upgrade to standard for almost $20!
Fix the information mistakes and my overall rating would be higher.

Needs updating in every way
I have been using TurboTax almost since its inception, and it has been a good program - but this might be the worst version made. Multiple errors during usage (yes, I did all updates), incorrect information (for one, my address changed, and it told me I could only call CRA - when I could update it online as well.) They need to update their internal information, some of the links are broken as well. The UI is in desperate need of a refresh, it looks very dated.

My deduction for CPP enhanced contributions went into 22200 (Self-employed earnings) when it should have gone into 22215 (Employed Earnings). No amount of redoing over and over again would change it. Even created a totally new return. No success. My profile showed I had no self-employment earnings. lHours of frustration.
