Changes need to be made
The fields to enter on the return when income splitting T1032 refers to letters. There are no letters on this years forms. Only when I looked at last years forms did I know where to put the amounts.

In the program it says it will close all un-used pages but it does not. It prints approx. 40 pages for 1 adult and 1 child with 1 T4 and 1 RRSP.
Very wasteful...

Trouble Finding Netfile
Once my return was completed, I wanted to file it using Netfile. This year, however, it was difficult to find the Netfiling option within TurboTax. At one point, I thought you had changed your system and were charging separately for Netfiling. It took me at least a half hour, but finally I found the spot in TurboTax that allowed me to Netfile. Please don't hide the Netfiling option in future years.

Lack of tax knowledge
We had a few unexpected life changes and I had to call in for a couple of different questions. The reps I talked to all had good attitudes, so well done there. However, I would only say one of the three was able to resolve my issue quickly. I expect to have access to people who know more about taxes than I do without having to pay to talk to an accountant. The issues weren't all that complicated!

Number reviews/loops
Asks too many questions when just trying to save a return. Told me I was not old enough to claim ON property tax credit and that I needed to fix it, but all it did was show me a screen with both spouses showing NO. Could not get out of this loop.

confusing
Lots of issues with overides! Even your phone support had trouble "fixing" my issues. Got an erro when trying to NETFILE! Think Turbo Tax should PAY me for all the frustration with this version!

problems

Forced to use Opera & Edge for Data Downloading
TurboTax forces users to use "Opera" and "Microsoft Edge" to download CRA personal Info & data...if not , it gives you lots of headache & confusions during the data & T-slips downloading process.

pretty good
I like how I can enter in the forms method. I don't like how I can't have spouses claim separate amounts of CCA on the T776 - instead I have to enter data on each return as if it wasn't a joint property. Also, the software should have a feature where I can print a list of all the forms I have entered so that it is easy to double check my work.

One Major Drawback
I always use the disk copy of the program on an old Windows computer which I keep for this program. I have switched to Apple products and find it very frustrating they don't have a Canadian version of the disk, although they have one in the USA.

Watch out for medical expenses!
Although the import of information slips has improved this year, and saved a lot of manual adjustments, the big fault remains the handling of medical expenses. I entered them all in the slips section of the lower earner, and then the medical worksheet automatically put them on the return of the higher earner! I've pointed this out as a bug in the past and it still remains.

FAQs do not address/resolve all problems
Had issue in printing returns - would only (repeatedly) print my spouses return and not mine, regardless of which name I indicated I wanted to print. FAQs did not address the issue - ended up spending extra time in reentering the same information again and repeatedly closing the program before the issue corrected itself - very frustrating (and time consuming)!!

Frustrated
While helpful in many respects the program's implementation is clumsy and frustrating. Many boxes that have values entered on my T-slips but there are no corresponding boxes in the program. Some data entry boxes are unnecessarily limited to 2 decimal places, e.g. the number of shares of a mutual fund that were bought or sold. There is no Mac version of the software offered which is particularly annoying.

Improvement required
The Statement of Investment Income should specify not to enter investment information if T3 and T5 forms have already been imported into the return. Otherwise the user will be entering investment information twice, greatly increasing the amount of income received.

Glitchy

Form T1135 No Good - Not Enough Rows!
TurboTax Standard, actually all versions, doesn't have enough rows on Form T1135 in Part B Section 7, and there's no way to add extra rows. For many users/investors, this is inadequate. The shortfall prevents being able to E-File T1135 and forces you to print from CRA website, fill in manually and then mail to CRA. What a pain! Why pay for software that can't do it's job properly. Intuit, fix this please. This has been ongoing problem for many years, and many users have made you aware of it, yet nothing is ever done.

several problems
Once you click that you did not work it is impossible to get T4's to come up for my husbands retirement allowance. For a joint held GIC it is not clear if you have to enter it on both returns or if it automatically is entered on the spouse's return once you press 50%. Also, there is no defined place to put expenditure for preparing the return. And why is CRA insisting my husband pay what he owes up front when in the past they just took it out of my refund when we are filing together. My return was not accepted by CRA when I tried to netfile but they don't say what the problem was so how can I fix it if I don't know.
