good program, too complicated
I was not able to use the Net File feature this year. I went through my work at least 6 or 8 times and this 84 year old was not able to fix what was supposed to be wrong. If you dumb it down to what it used to be I will but it again. I have never had this problem before. What Happened?

Worsening Software
I have used TurboTax and its predecessors for 20 odd years, but this year was the worst ever experience. I spent an hour trying to get the spousal income splitter to optimize our tax returns by distributing refunds to both my spouse and me rather than attributing a refund to one person and requiring a tax payment from the other. The print function also didn’t work. No matter which return I selected only my return was printed. I had to save the files as pdf documents so I could print each of our returns.
I buy tax software to save time, not to have it give me hours of aggravation.

Things Change
I find it a great product - Used if for years. Still some difficulties from year to year but manage to sort out issues and taxes filed in plenty of time - this year though had to pay - result - Paid CRA owing and adjusted automatic monthly tax payments.

Problems
It is more confusing this year than any other year.
The medical section is never very clear and no help from you when it states you are over the amount to claim no help on what to claim or not claim. that has always been an issue. just thought I would let you know

I couldn't import my personal information from my previous returns, you made changes that I couldn't seem to follow. Also, some information did not come up when I first clicked on it - I had to go back to see all of the options.

Will you listen to me??
TurboTax proposals:
1. The T-slips window is too small - it holds only 3 receipts. I don't see any good reason for that. And unlike other windows, the T-slips window cannot be resized, only closed.
2. Medical receipts window shows only 3 receipts at a time, but could show more than 3 receipts.
3. Refund/Balance for spouses shows the subtotal Refund/Balance for each spouse separately. This would be very convenient to also show a combined grand total Refund/Balance amount to make it easier to find out the maximum return for the family. I had to do it manually, but it would be very easy for the developers to implement directly in the program interface.
Summary display should show the grand total refund/balance as well, not just two individual numbers.

Too much duplication of questions, becoming more cumbersome. It appears you add things every year without deleting old stuff. Your survey at the end of the filing is ridiculously long. 55 questions some with 10 sub questions. NOT SHORT.

Never Again
I have used TurboTax for the past 5 years and never had as many problems as 2021.
TurboTax doubled the amount recorded on a T4A and I could find no way to correct that.
TurboTax understated the amount of tax deducted at source and I could find no way to correct it.
Efforts to resolve these problems using TurboTax's help or "contact us" links were unsuccessful. I needed to speak to a real person and could find no way to do so.
So now I will have to file a request with CRA for re-assessment.

Importing several T4 and Releve 1
There seems to be an issue when we import documents from CRA and Revenue Quebec. If person had more then one employment and therefore several T4/Releve 1, the software is adding this in a wrong way (mixing these documents up), so I have to delete some of them and enter the info manually. The same issue was present last year.

too many prints

Worse than previous years
I found this years Turbo Tax to be the least user friendly. Lots of glitches. When it tells you where to find information on your Notice of Assessment, it has not been updated to reflect the changes CRA has made to their website.

Program wants me to farm?
Incredibly difficult to file one family member's returns as Turbo Tax program error locked open a farm worksheet and wouldn't let them process the return. Nobody are farmers, and there are no entries in the form, it just refuses to close and let things proceed.

Software Needs Modification
I wasted far too much time trying to find a way to print my detailed tax summary. Turbotax should allow this with no problems but it does NOT. Also, I should be able to select areas of my return, including my detailed tax summary and copy it to Microsoft Word for printing. Turbotax does NOT allow this either.
Maybe there is other tax preparation software that I could use that would allow me to do this.

A bit frustrating
Do not like being interrupted by ads... it's frustrating not to be able to see more on a page. It would be helpful to have it explained that certain boxes do NOT have to be entered. I don't like the "warnings" that are really not applicable.

Purchase vs on line
I am upset that TT standard purchased on line is $19.99 per filing. I purchased the box version for 34.99 and I can do up to 8 filings. Online is a rip off especially when I purchase in a store they make a profit and you don't even have to supply a box, and a CD. Smarten up or do you think the consumer is a dummy!!!!

i have used Turbo Tax for over 10 years
I have found over the last two years that something is not quite right with calculations. Turbotax said both my daughter and I would be getting over 2000.00 but when Rev Can did express noa we both lost over 1000.00 that is a huge let down. So, I am highly disappointed.

Problems
First there were no slips with the code at the New Liskeard WalMart.
Second. Our name needs to be at the top of the forms when working on 2 different people who are connected. Kept losing things. Like the program Check Mark at the bottom of my screen kept missing

I hate the nagging ads
I am really annoyed that while you are doing your taxes, this product is constantly trying to upsell you to a more expensive turbotax version or to get audit defense or to hire one of their advisors. I paid for this product, it is not ad-ware. Doing my taxes should be a simple process and I had at least a dozen upsell pages come up. Also, the application seems to run significantly slower than other years, so it is annoying to wait for the time it takes to skip these pages.

Very slow this year
This year the program took a very long time to load and was very difficult to find the caregiver amounts if claiming. I think it has been oversimplified and some of the details are missing. Still a good program but don't like the changes to finding forms or info.

Overpriced and NOT Helpful
You used to be able to use Turbo Tax easily and without hasle. Now you have to pay per use and get sold crap you don't need. The 'help' section and functions are NOT helpful. Example: go and search for a term. If they've actually got a helpful article (good luck btw) go back and search for another. Chances are the search field will NOT HAVE rest and will try to search for the same string under the same heading returning ZERO results. How hard could it be to reset the search term box you ask? Not hard probably but Turbo Tax would rather have you pull your hair out searching the internet.

Hard to launch on 3 PCs as promised
Had real problem using the software on 3 computers as promised. Third launch gave error that all licenses were used. Could not get around.
Also got a T5 form after submitting - seemed impossible to fix.
Also completed taxes - checked with CRA import of files - it doubled all income!! Went from a refund to owing big time. Had to back out. The product should not allow or should catch this type of error.

Dissatisfied
Found the program did not run as smoothly as previous years. Printed documents included blanks, even when prompted to delete, total of 18 pages. Completely lost the first set of returns from the program, had to start over and redo entire returns

used all my ink and paper!
I have used Turbo Tax for at least 10 years and have always found it easy to use, especially now with the table of contents on the left side. BUT, this has been a problem over the last few years (wasn't always like this) - even if I only want a schedule printed, the whole return prints. I just want to review some numbers but I'll get 30 pages of junk. Can you not limit the print selections to just one schedule? It implies you can do this but if you pick any of these listed schedules, the whole return prints. Also, if I ever used a business statement in self-employed earnings but no longer use it, it prints with no entries anyway even though I have deselected it in the interview, cancelled it under forms and done every other thing I can think of to get rid of it, it still prints! Turbo Tax users, if you want to print your return, buy shares in the ink and paper companies or make darn sure there are no mistakes first or you will regret it!! Drowning in shredded paper over here!!
