Software Bugs
I have used Cantax and then TurboTax for many years and for the most part I have been happy with it but this year be careful when I deleted a T5013 (I loaded my information through CRA) it also deleted my T4, be careful and double check. I believe there is a bug as I was able to replicate this problem each time I tested it.

issue with "You have claimed childcare expenses for an ineligible dependent" even though it was claimed last yr the same way
found others having the same issue. after 2 hrs helpdesk suggested might be because data downloaded from CRA, suggested manual entry

Okay, Pricey and a little unstable
Crashed 3 times while trying to file. Seemed to be a problem on the Turbotax side as the whole program stopped responding and had to be restarted.

The functionality for T5008 forms needs to be improved.
The display should show Type of gain, gain or loss instead of or in addition to proceeds
When a gain type is not included your error routine sends you back to the list of T5008 forms with only the proceeds showing so you have to check every individual entry to find the one where "capital gains" was not specified.
You should also display the total ... I had to print my return to validate that the total entered was correct.

Pretty good but could be smarter
We had to print my husband's return and mail it in because he is 65 but only turned that in Dec 2020 and didn't receive any old age pension. The system saw that as an error. Maybe it's CRA but it not, TurboTax could be smarter to look at the date he turned 65 and realize that OAP wouldn't have been received in 2020. Other than that, pretty good.

2020 Version took a long time to install compared to previous versions. It flagged items that I did not report as income and asked me what to do with without adequate explanation of what it was

Good for basics
It's fairly simple to use until you have anything out of the usual. Also searching for info and forms is not that easy to get exactly what is needed. I needed to Google and find other sources from from the CRA or others.

A lot of bags
Windows and check marks are not properly located, some issues with the form switching and my medical was presented in the list of the recipes but not in the final calculation and in the medical forms. Have to redo all the recips from scrach

Beware if you receive U.S. bank interest
Both the CRA and the U.S. IRS agree that a Canadian resident should not pay a U.S. withholding tax on U.S. bank interest. It should be taxed in Canada. But the Canadian TurboTax automatically gives a 15% foreign tax credit on U.S. bank interest, which implies that a Canadian resident paid a tax on U.S. interest to the IRS. Overriding the formula to zero it disqualifies NETFILE. How can it be certified by the CRA? U.S. TurboTax is less error-prone.

I had a number of problems with the tax program. The biggest one was that on the Revenu Quebec return, when trying to claim the appropriate caregiver credit, the program wouldn't let me enter my mother as a caregiver receiver over 18 years old and with impairment.

Errors They Just Never Get Around to Fixing
Really the only benefit I see to using Turbo Tax is it carries your data over from year to year. From a usability perspective, if you're anything but the most basic of tax cases, it's infuriating. Then easy step menu is a great idea but once you get into the details it becomes messy. I found dozens of either flaws or usability issues, that did get reported last year, still there this year.
Very frustrating.

WORST TAX EXPERIENCE
I had to borrow a computer with windows 10 to use this program this year. I will not buy a new computer just to run Turbotax. I can pay to have taxes done and have money left over. Quicktax, then Turbotax for many years, but NEVER AGAIN if win10 is needed. Good bye.

Complexity
Given the extreme complexity of Canada Revenue tax calculations, how can I be confident that turbo tax catches all the nuances.
Canada Revenue could help by making the tax system less complex and easier to understand. I feel that the tax system is driven by politicians who who have no comprehension of the consequences of their need for money

Good, but with caveats
I liked Turbotax, because it makes some things much easier, however I found dealing with the CRA netfile - the main reason I use Turbotax frustrating, as well as trying to get a direct deposit. The software is opaque that the requirements right at the start are NOT necessary, and unless you've already filed online before, you don't know that.

Not as simple as they say
Many early "basic" questions are not detailed enough to answer correctly - had to go back to change answers several times after advancing farther and more information was given. Many questions asked that are worded confusingly or about topics that I, as someone with a fairly in-depth understanding of taxes and related calculations, have never heard of.
Overall, it works, and is probably done correctly... but there is a lot of uncertainty and lacking confidence.

Average software, need to be careful
There is not many options left, since Intuit bought out all the competition. The 2018 version works better than some of the versions from the past. Intuit makes it virtually impossible to contact them (unless you want to listen to hours of elevator music), so if you have a problem or simple question, you are on your own. DO NOT expect any help from Intuit

Needs Improvement
I have several issue with this software. First it should be available to use on a Mac and not only online. Second almost every year I have one file that I can no longer open and need to re-input all the information and finally it keeps asking me to register when it's already done.
