Progam lockups
After program download, had repeated problems with program restarts. Often required disabling security system. Unacceptable when dealing with personal info.

Form input method errors exist in TTAX 2020
I had some perplexing problems with using the form method which I had used for the past ten years. 1) It started with the installation with some applications settings not created properly during the installation. I fixed that following instructions. 2) Then I used the form method to enter my tax data but got a new error when I reviewed my return "You have indicated that you marital status on Dec 31, 2020 was either married/common-law but not confirmed.The FIX button that DID NOT WORK with TT601 and TT604 error appearing that resulted in about 2 hour easystep??? session with the TurboTax help chat staff. 3) I the got a message that stated that an new TurboTax update was available, so I installed it only to find it did not fix the problems that I encountered in 2) and I had to "easy step" my own way through the return AGAIN. I am very disappointed that it appears the easy-step process is now MANDATORY. TurboTax coding has not been checked to ensure all data is correctly carried forward from previous returns or that a FORM entry user has boxes to input new EASY STEP??? requirements. I hope that this oversight resulting from Covid-19 coding staff problems since it really perplexed me and resulted in substantial time waisted preparing this year's return. Robert A Mackett

Contemplating for next year
I have used Turbo Tax for many years and have encountered few problems. This year however was different, i.e., importing last year's return, Home Buyers Plan, business income. It was very frustrating.

just ok!!
the inability to bring forward basic info from prior years is annoying. While I know a higher version allows this, things like SIN's address etc. should be included in the standard version...

not easy like before
it won't send my taxes, says theres a problem, won't tell me where. just keeps sending me in circles, 10 year customer of turbo tax and never had issues like this! not worth the money this year if I have to hire someone to do it! very unhappy with product

not as easy as it could be
lots of times where turbo tax doesn't provide enough information to understand what to enter. one example - does CRA have record of date of birth? If you say 'no' you can't netfile. i don't know if cra has my son's birthday on record so I said no, but when I discovered it wouldn't let me netfile I changed to yes. Netfile was successful. Netfile is the main reason I use this software. Even community answers were wrong on this one..

'Foreign' confusion!
My Canadian daughter lives in a foreign country. Turbo Tax is not clear about documenting this information! This survey is completed as if I was my daughter. I would recommend Turbo Tax IF the inquirer did not have the same situation as (me) my daughter.

Worst TurboTax ever
After more than 12 years of using TurboTax and loving it, this year was total frustration. Submitting my license key, having it accepted and then being returned to submit it again. 2 hours on the phone to support solved this. But then the software thought I was self employed and wouldn't let me net file. An internet search solved this but even the solution was hard to do because the form was not operating correctly.

can't report & track bugs
After software update, user directory is reset: can't resume returns in progress. (There is a workaround :).
No way to report this bug. Called support, but they can't take and track a bug report.
There is no online form.
There is no email address to send a report to.

Solid performance but no longer a leader
Large text and graphics make this seem a friendly approach to taxes, but if you are not tax savvy, you can end up down rabbit holes and have extra forms opened that you don't need. There are several free options available now so increasingly the gap and value that TurboTax once had is rapidly narrowing. Not sure if this is my last year to purchase after 20+ years of use.

OK
Had to get help from Turbo Tax to install my copy I bought in Staples, took over 2 hours! Could not import information from Government site origianlly, then couldn't send by netfile!

Too Many Steps
Could be so much simpler to use. Good have a few questions like Which Tforms do you have and then you could make selection. Instead you have to go through pages and pages of questions, then they ask redundant steps/checks plus try to upsell between the pages instead of moving to the next page. Things are hidden behind those questions and if you are looking for something specific you have to answer questions to a questions to reveal what lies underneath to see if that applies. Then go on to next question if not there.

Not Happy
for 2020 I worked approx 6 mo in Ontario, moved to BC and worked approx 6 months here. My T4's reflect a double payment of CPP and EI. When I try to transfer the return to Rev Can, it comes up saying I am self employed and won't let me transfer and won't allow me to send.

Needs to get with the times!
I have been asking for MAC based software for years - they don't listen, don't pay attention to customers. I keep an old PC just for doing taxes - refuse to use the cloud based product - way too much of a security issue. I'll keep my info on my local laptop thank you - for the umpteenth time - provide software for download to Mac based IOS. I've been involved in IT for over 50 years - since computers were the size of rooms and don't trust anything that you can't download. Get with the times - there are lots of Mac users out there - not everything needs to be streamed - especially not your financial information.

TurboTax infinite loop and crash on M$ Windows 10
TurboTax advised me to sign up for a Seniors tax break, although it new I was too young, then it wanted me to remove the check mark, which I did, then it kept looping, check then uncheck the box, until TurboTax crashed. Bad idea to run something important on MS-Windows.

T1135 needs improvement
Turbotax should make major improvement on the T1135 page. It should allow more than just 3 lines for each of the investment type. People tend to invest more than just 3 stocks/properties over the years.

Employment Expense
After using Turbotax almost 10 years this year, the technical glitch for work from home option known issue(as per your tech support), I was not able to use easy steps to add my work from home expenses with T2200. I was advised to use workaround so not happy :(
