2020 headache
I have used turbo Tax for several years. This time was a wrestling match as it did not want to cooperate with Windows 10. Even when loaded it fought me all the way to Netfile where it totally freaked. Told me that I had used up all my filing slots and yet the following page showed none used. I could pay $19.95 to purchase additional filing capacity. Today, it worked the way it had in the past. She's been a struggle. Done for this year!

software problem
I have used Turbo Tax for many years but for the 2020 return it was terrible! They missed a prime component is entering data for spouse, specifically date of birth. This caused me hours of problems in trying to have the return fixed before being able to netfile!!!

Problems if Win is configured with comma for cents
If the cents are configured in Windows with comma instead of point the "Easy Step" does not work and will require you to change the data in every form to consider the cents. Software bug not corrected yet. I spent time showing the on line service the problem.

Best if used previously
TurboTax is a convenient way to be comfortable that the proper forms have been accounted for and tax filing is accomplished accurately. If you've used it before, TurboTax is also good for importing data from prior years. I find its user interface quite frustrating at times. For example, entering medical receipts requires keying in all 8 characters (including leading zeroes) for every, single, date, and with a year's worth of receipts, that becomes old real fast (not to mention that even Intuit's Quicken 8 for MS-DOS (!) figured out how to manage date entry far, far better. The help files are only useful about ¼ the time. If I was starting out, I wouldn't get on the TurboTax bandwagon, but since I'm here, I endure it annually. Not, perhaps, the most ringing endorsement.

Not as good as pevious years
The program refused to save or print my return until I purchased another license for $20.00 even though I had purchased a $35 license entitling me to prepare 10 returns.
Tomorrow I will try to get my $20 back
I would also have appreciated the provision of a voucher I could include with my cheque to the CRA.

not this year
I have used turbo tax for many years and been very happy up until this year. took an hour on the phone to fix a glitch. The program would not let me . print or file a return. Said I had used all my returns and I used none.. After it was fixed it said I had already used one file and would not let me change anything on the return that was up when tech was working on the problem. was not satisfied with the program this year

Not as good as it used to be
I have been using "Quick Tax/Turbo Tax" since it was invented. Over the past few years it has become very frustrating to use once you go to finalize your return. I was purchasing the CD version in the stores before Dec 31st as I had self employed income. When it comes to get the updates to file, it ALWAYS makes me reload the program and then this year I ended up calling "support" which was near impossible to find the telephone number. The lady was able to assist in reloading the program again! Please fix the 'fixes' before releasing the product otherwise you will be losing long time customers. i used to recommend it to everyone; now I hesitate.

2020 Turbotax review
This years Turbotax was not up to previous years standards. The easy step forms were sometimes confusing, especially with medical. The print and save options at the end were unnecessarily duplicated

constantly repeats questions and you are not sure
Turbotax can be helpful, once you get by the multiple repeat questions, the NOT so helpful help, the OVER PRICE for doing simple Financial records of buying Premier package when you could just enter it in Basic. And the need to review all the calculations as you are sure Turbotax didn't do it right again

Disappointed
I have used this tax software for years. It has always been great up to this year. I suspect problems at the CRA caused issues during download of slips but the Turbotax software locked up 4 times and lost my info each time. Then once I started entering the information manually it would bounce back and forth between my tax slips and my wife's slips rather than letting me finish mine and then move on to hers. Terrible!

I purchased the standard disk from Walmart. It would not load so ended up, with some difficulty, downloading a copy. Once I got past that, I was very happy with ease of use of the program. I will be back next year.

Feedback is given but change never comes
This is my last year for giving feedback on TT which started with QuickTax many years ago. There are ongoing issues with forms not being printed when they are not blank. Not all the data entry is saved, so if you look back at a particular page, you have to reenter yes/no or dollar amounts. In other words, if I change a dollar (income split amount) amount by mistake (I have) the bottom line changes and I wouldn't know it. Please make the changes Turbotax.

Clunky
Clunky flow of data, required to insert cents ( even the govt has eliminated cents), information supplied with this product is lacking. ex. No ave exchange rate is given, taxability of usa soc sec received is not spelled out ie. tax treaty info, carryovers of contributions or medical expenses is not included in this product, like it fell off the face of the earth, I could go on... fix these items and your product may be more useful to us. your price seems to increase every year, while the features stay the same. A review of new tax changes and effect on me, would be more helpful. Every tax preparer at tax time is unavailable (or availabe for much $$) or call CRA and try to get any tax answer and therefore impracticle for small $$ tax payers. Suggestion: get a copy of US turbo tax and compare for yourself.

Manitoba Education tax fail
There is a bug in the Manitoba Education tax credit. If you did not receive the credit, you cannot put 0.00 as required. if you do, it will fail the Netfile Check and you will have to submit a paper return. The workaround is to put $1.00 in on line 61140 of Form MB479. Hopefully this is fixed soon.

There seems to be a glitch in transferring Saskatchewan Tax credits between spouses. Luckily, it didn't impact my return (an error message keeps showing up that isn't an error), so if not transferring credits, TurboTax should work you.

Good but 1 Flaw
If you have done taxes through online turbo tax it will not convert a store bought version. You will have to start all over again. Otherwise it is very easy to walk through and it catches stuff that you miss.

Repetition is Frustrating
Long-time users of TurboTax, like me, must be frustrated by the repeated questions, such as whether we want to import tax slip information. Also, I needed to speak to a service rep but could find no telephone number on the web site. Very frustrating!

Poor Customer Support
After getting close to completing my return, something happened which caused me to be unlcear if it had netfiled. Called in to clarify and got hung up on after 45 mins, the next guy couldnt tell me if my return was or wasnt filed. It wasnt until I spent 1.5 hrs on a CRA call that I discovered if you dont have a netfile number ID, it wasnt filed. And couldnt not resume where i was since, all was lost. So, another 2 hrs wasted. Just re-did it all and it worked this time.

Glitches
I have never experienced this in the past, but this year Turbo Tax had glitches, hanging; I Netfiled my taxes and Turbox Tax froze during me accessing my CRA account for express assessment; when Turbo Tax re-started, the program wanted me to resubmit however, CRA already received my taxes. Did this for my return and my spouse's.

Does the job, but has started to become dated from a technology and look and feel perspective. Also, the new option to claim flat fee expenses for working from home due to COVID, didn't really work. Wasn't intuitive at all, and I had to go to the actual form rather than use the wizard.

Counter Issues
Went to Netfile today. Purchased standard version, as I have for over 10 years. After one return under $25K, and one over $25K, system asked to reactivate - twice - and miscounted my usage. Very frustrating morning. Tax calculations went awesome, but the final steps were frustrating. Finally got it working by rebooting computer several times and reactivating several times.
