Too secretive
I couldn't file one tax return for some time and spent hours trying to find out why. Our daughter had the same issue and phoned Intuit only to be told that you hadn't integrated some forms. There was a notice of this when filing a copy but it didn't say that we couldn't file a return until the forms were integrated. There was also no indication of when this was going to be done. We checked the form you were waiting for and it had been available for a number of weeks.

Upset customer
Tried to down load off the Internet would not complete down load .All it would say ( cannot down load the application. The application is missing required files. Unable to get it straighten out .Called TurboTax on hold for half an hour . Need to call back again tommow

not happy
I have used Turbo tax for years and been very happy with it until this year. My husband and I are filing separately and I could only mail his in as it said his spouse birthdate was missing and there is no where it can be entered. Arghhhhhhhhh

TurboTax 2020 Terrible!!
I have been a huge fan of TurboTax for over 6 years, but NEVER again will I purchase this product. There are multiple issues and bugs in this program that had me pulling my hair out. Fix these bugs in the program!

Some Disappointment
Seem to be more bugs than usual - drop down info re Climate Incentive did not include the province I'm in but the form did. A Fix error asked for info not required (partners D.O.B.) making it so I could file my return. Asked to do a 'short' survey that is anything but short. Info in the survey not current i.e. referred to 2018 return which was not valid.

Net File message, not error
I confused the message in regards to the CRA forms that were not finalized. I traced the form which seemed final at the CRA site. I finally contacted Turbo Tax support and find out the form was blocked. The message should read "Finalized or blocked due to xxxx...." so I would understand and wait for a few days to be updated or unblocked.

Simple Return Difficult Task
Turbo Tax did things to me this year that it has never done to me in the past. I even had to call their help line but they didn't solve me problem. At one point was getting a refund more than we had paid in taxes. Not good. Nova Scotia

Not the best this year
Have used QuickTax and then TurboTax, so a long time user. A bit disappointed about the extra forms that are not required being displayed and not closing out. Had an issue related to a "Do Not Enter" symbol showing over the Netfile button. Had a TurboTax support person remotely review my submission and concluded that some forms in use have been locked by TurboTax due to changes expected from CRA but my submission looked fine. Just keep trying to submit it. After a couple of days I was notified of a software update and then I could complete my Netfile submission. Help info inside TurboTax is short and just sends you to CRA. Tracking numbers in forms back to other pages or receipts does not work as well as it used to.

Forms not ready
It is frustrating to be ready to file your completed returns and be unable to do so because forms are not approved. There should be a warning label on the box that the product is not yet ready. Also should be a way of finding out what forms are not approved.
Some forms like Principal Residence designation print and have some "X" 's even though no sale was done. Is this an error that is holding up filing?

Needs some improvement
When using the questionnaires, Turbo Tax should know what to leave out of the rest of your tax return experience. i.e. If you answered NO to did you sell a home/principal residence in 2020, it shouldn't bring you to that screen when you are completing your information. This is just one example. It presents a lot of stuff to you that you already screened for in the introductory questions. It is not efficient to go through them twice and the software should be smarter than that.

Error Fix Frustration
An error requiring fixing appeared in the East Step mode. Easy Step Mode had an "undo over ride button". It did not work. Intuit's advisor and I went back to forms and did an "edit" "remove over ride operation to finally fix it... Grump

usage
I do my, my wife's, and my son's taxes. I must use separate access codes for each one. Why is the code not kept with the last year's file?? I am having great difficulty in getting these codes as my kept file was in portrait form and some of the code was missed. I have the only cra account. The others have not been made. I cannot make them up, as it must be from them??

There is an insane amount of prompts to upgrade from the copy I have already bought. I bought this version for a reason, I don't want to spend more money. And after I said no the first 5 times, I surely wasn't planning on changing my mind

Fair price for simple returns
Price is fair for simple returns. The only issue I have and why I can only give it a 3 star rating is that it tries to up sell you on protection and qualified review services. Put your up sell ads in the help menu don't make me read and click past them in the middle of my return. This tactic equates to a pop up ad in a paid for product.

Lots of issues with employment expenses forms
I only wanted to fill out the covid work-from-home form (the temporary easy method) and the software kept asking me to fill out TP64.3 which is not required for that temporary method. And deleting an unused form is painfully hard and counter-intuitive.

Many changes in 2020 version
For the first time EVER we had multiple problems entering our return this year. A question missing in the turbo tax prep questions caused a major issue. There was no way to find a contact number to ask a question. FRUSTRATING!! Had to print and send in.

issues with Netfile
Was unable to clear errors that made Netfile unavailable. Turbo Tax identified two errors but the Fix didn't work....had no effect. Ended up printing/mailing return....very disappointing and unexpected....have been using Turbo Tax forever and never encountered these problems.

Have used this for many years.
