Good, but..
Reasonably easy to use, but found that there were many repetitive areas, which were confusing, as one thinks they missed something when in fact the program was just repeating itself.

Cumbersome
-if there were a more user friendly tax, I would use it. Turbo Tax designed for programers, not users. Navigation cumbersome. Need to simplify.

Transfer of tax info
The transfer of previous year tax info should be a basic tool when buying any version of your tax products. By this I mean it SHOULD be included in the Basic Version of your tax products, not just the Standard Version and above. I require only one (1) return to fill out, so paying the extra for the Standard is a waste of money.

OK but tricky
You need to realise that some deductions like Medical don't automatically give you the best refund. e.g. just because one partner has the lower income doesn't mean they should claim. Seniors deductions too.

Decent but
This is easy enough to use with the helpful hints and guides. The thing is, when you make a mistake it's not very easy to figure out where you went wrong. Like, you can download forms from the CRA website, but sometimes the full data does not make it to TurboTax and that can be a problem.

netfile & updates won't work
Tried to submit my income tax using netfile - neither that option or the get updates feature would work despite several attempts - very frustrating, and will now have to print & mail.

I always use Turbo Tax
I have used Turbo Tax for many years. I have always found it easy to use and I've have had no issues with accuracy. However, this year I found that my new computer (that my son got) had no cd drive. I had a terrible time finding the download information on the web site. I would suggest that it be made more obvious for us older people to find easier.

Not as easy to use as before
The layout and interface of this year's TurboTax has been simplified but it made it harder to use. There are areas that are not explained clearly and have cause confusion. Not a good version. I may try other product next year after using it for more than 10 years.

Principal Residence Error
We have used Turbo Tax for many years and not had a problem but this year there was an error that we could not get rid of. It mistakenly thought that we had sold our Principal Residence and even though we went back and clicked "No" repeatedly, it would not allow us to Netfile with the error. Very time consuming, frustrating and not what we had planned on. I will think twice about purchasing this software again next year.

First Time Filer Problem
If you are a first time filer, you will not be able to file electronically using TurboTax. The software will not allow it even though there is no reason for this restriction.

good up til the end
This version was easy as advertised right up til the printing part. I don't like it but I get over printing 22 plus pages for my "record" copy but to not be able to easily print the real deal hard copy for CRA is beyond irritating.

Not that great
Ok, I have used Turbotax for years but lots of marketing junk included in the setup and when I need to Netfile with CRA...please I am paying for your product so I don't need more marketing junk/information ...just a more streamline tool

Canadian taxes are complicated
TurboTax aims at making things easier and it indeed beats paper filing by far, but the Canadian tax system being so complicated, TurboTax at times has me confused. Good tool - complicated tax system.

Lost in Comparison
I have been a Turbo Tax customer for years. Recently I have had to use UFile for doing tax returns and I found it easier to follow, it allowed me print forms such as year over year comparison that I am unable to print in Turbo Tax. I will be moving to UFile to do my personal returns starting next year.

Needs more options
Received T-3 slips vary late (Canada Post slow delivery). Tried to file amended return but not able as I do not file electronically. I had to write a cover letter explaining this was an amended return. Should be able to file amended even if done by hard copy.

Confusing interface
I have used TurboTax and its predecessor for years.
It certainly "gets the job done", but the interface is unnecessarily confusing in many areas. An example that quickly comes to mind - the DSUM form - is intended to provided both a yearly and a spousal comparison. The presentation is initially confusing, but after several years of use I am used to it. However, printing/saving to PDF both presentations failed several times.
After many years of development I expect that the developer would have streamlined the interface and eliminated the confusing areas. While I acknowledge that there have been improvements, the product should have a much cleared interface.

CRA Fraud
Use this software for many years. Over last 3 years, I rec'd fraud CRA calls when starting and finishing my taxes. Maybe it's the TTax/CRA interface that is being monitored. Sorry TTax, can't trust this software anymore. bye.

Always has problems
Every year I encounter problems with this software. They still haven't fixed their charitable contributions optimizer. This year their optimizer suggested that I throw away over $30,000 of tax credits and so that I can never use them. I feel sorry for anyone who blindly trusts their software.

Call it a work in progress.
I had a number of problems with using this software. As a retiree my situation has changed substantially. I have gone from a T4 reporting wage earner to managing an investment portfolio. T3s, T5s and T5008s require detailed inputs and this software doesn't handle that in a very user friendly way. Also in entering medical expenses, it defaulted repeatedly to assigning them to the lower wage earner, with the consequence that we had taxes payable. I had to repeatedly change it to the higher wage earner to achieve no balance owing. On this issue, Turbotax worked more effectively when I did the opposite of the instructions TurboTax gave me.

NOT AS GOOD AS IT SHOULD BE
not impressed. had questions didn't find answers to, malfunctioned at 1 point & said i'd have to restart turbotax after i'd spent hours doing our returns. when you kept having to back up to check medical expenses you couldn't go forward like you had to reenter info.

Loosing it way
I have used Turbo tax for 20 years. I am an experienced investor and use Turbo tax to prepare info for my Chartered account. I prepare my spouse's tax. In the last 2 years this program no longer works and will not accept entries. 1. Instalment payments. + many other problems.

2019 return was not as good as in prior years
Disappointed with the software this year. Have used Turbotax for over a decade and was quite happy with it. This year user interface and overall navigation are not as intuitive. And the fact that even at the end of May it's still impossible to register software online is quite surprising. Tried it several times but received 404 error. At least it still allows to Netfile. Hope things will get smoothed out in the next year's version.
