Seems more confusing than previous years. Offers to import forms from CRA but doesn't do all T forms.

Started using TurboTax a number of years ago, but I find it hasn't been updated as a modern piece of software. For example, some of the wizards are very clunky, and could be made a lot slicker. Seems like 2010 software, not 2020 software.

Poor explanations of things like country codes could be better. entry from T slips very good. Medical entry should be clearer as some what confusing.

TurboTax tries to put medical expenses in the spouses return with the lowest income. This is not always the best place. The program should instead enter the expense in the return which yields the highest refund/lowest tax payable

I've been using this program for years, and it never ceases to amaze me how cumbersome it can be, or how many times it crashes. It gets the job done, but you'd think it could be more user friendly for repeat users.

The end is always weird - it asks to review the same things over and over. Print, submit, print, save, print, save again. Oh you're closing, we'll ask to save it again after you've saved it 50 times already. The cost of the base product is too much. I'll be switching or forgetting it next year.

I've used TurboTax for years, more because it's easier to have it carrying forward my info & numbers than starting fresh with other software. It does add the numbers together & fills out many of the forms but I've never found it smooth or helpful as I go through the return.

This form is inconsistent with paper form received from bank. Very confusing. Also free filling of fields from CRA was incomplete.

Great program for the last several years. But this years( 2019 returns) it was very painful to get it first started. Seems they had issues that they could not resolve until late March. They should have made the program for all users Windows 2007 and windows 10

getting help is far to complicated. Error read "you have reported the sale of your principal residence" I didn't dispose of my principal residence. Then very complicated to get help as I couldn't file until a correction was made..

Your calculation for Quebec Schedule K is correct. You forward the proper amount to Line 447. You do not use the same amount for calculation of Medical Expenses for Quebec. Lost a lot of time fixing that. Also difficult to play with different donation carry forwards.

It is a good program unless your spouse passes away and you need to split pension income with them during the during the tax year they passed away. Absolutely flabbergasted, no gobsmacked, that a company as advanced as Intiut is unable to design a program that will allow the spouse of a deceased senior to split pension with the deceased spouse without having to over ride easy interview and do it manually. Pretty sure this would be a common problem every year

I have found it difficult to finish with my wifes return and have had to mail it. I contacted CRA and together we were unable to correct the problem. Problem exists withT4A(P)

One thing drives me nuts with this. We do a spousal return, and the software flips back and forth between individuals. Would VERY MUCH prefer if I can answer all my questions and put in my data, and then my wife can do the same, and then optimize for the pair of us.

Changing an address due to moving across country is difficult to enter. The form T2091will not update the sub form … I will have to send in the paper copy to CRA to correct the problem... otherwise a good program ...

I do not appreciate pop ups for additional services in the middle of completing my return. List upsells near the end of the return. The other survey has 55 questions and I do not think that any of the information is your business

I love having the option of doing my taxes from home, however I am an anxious mess over if I filed properly or not.
I can't really afford the extra to have someone look it over so I'm now stuck. If it goes well I will purchase for next year if it doesn't I will just use a tax service instead.

Print Failure
Sometimes the CRA wants you to send in copies of specific parts of your tax return. Unfortunately it is extremely difficult to print the T1 or Income Splitting pages except with the phrase "Duplicate Do not send by Mail". These pages require signatures and dates when requested by the CRA. But it is not possible to get a "clean" copy of these and other forms within Turbo Tax.

I've used TurboTax for several years, and have noticed a common problem. In various forms, TT regularly doesn't provide enough space to fully enter data. For the longest time, the donation details entry did not allow enough characters to enter the full name of many charities. This seems corrected finally in 2019 (and maybe 2018, not sure.)
2nd, for the first time, I'm entering medical expenses. The number of lines that show up in the Medical Expenses Worksheet that gets filed is about 50. I'm allowed to enter more medical expenses, but these get lumped together by TT in one line entitled: "From other receipts". When I print the form, that's how it appears. I don't know if CRA receives all the additional details, or just the one lump sum line "From other receipts". If the latter, I can't think of a better way to flag a tax return for an audit. I sure hope I don't get follow up questions from CRA due to TT's own software limitations.
Lastly, a separate issue is, when I Netfiled it asked me if I want to register for e-notifications from the CRA, or not. It did not give me an option to say I've already registered for e-notification. Such an option appears when asking about direct deposit. This was confusing and I hope by selecting "no" (because I'm already registered), it didn't DE-register me.

Used this software since the DOS days. Even was a BETA tester for Windows. Was called Quick Tax prior to Turbo Tax. Only issue I had this year was the Manitoba Climate Incentive. I always use the forms method and always Import from the previous year. I had to call tech support (ID461141569) due to not being able to use the Climate Incentive form as directed by CRA. My daughter is divorced and their son is shared for the fitness and climate claims each year. This year was the father's turn to claim these two items. My daughter can still claim her son as an eligible dependant (equivalent to spouse). The issue for the climate form is that you can only check of the box stating you are claiming this deduction. The software fills in the rest automatically. You cannot state you do not want to claim the son for the climate incentive even though you can if you go thru the Easy Step process. Of course with the F2 over rides the option to NETFILE is eliminated. I was forced to start a brand new return from scratch without importing as described by the tech person I called. NOT VERY USER FRIENDLY! If the software works under Easy Step it sure better work under forms and with importing. I should get a free CD next year for all my trouble and call the tech support describing issue. Thoughts Intuit??

I have been using TURBO TAX for years but now that I moved to Quebec, I am not so impressed with the program. Great program for Federal Tax but for the Provincial great improvement are needed. You get a lot of explanation for Federal questions BUT when it comes to Quebec explanation it is almost not existent. It is too bad as I might have to switch to another Tax program

I attempted to do a refile I was successful in getting the form Now when it comes to re submitting the form through netfile I have no idea if it worked

I've used Turbo Tax for more than 10 years with no problem using the Forms entry method, but for 2019, the program wouldn't let me enter amounts on some lines that are direct entry lines. When I contacted a Turbo rep, he confirmed that problems existed & I needed to do a work around by backing up and using the guided data entry method. That's not an acceptable fix. Hopefully this bug is fixed for 2020, or I will have to reluctantly find more stable tax return software.

After repeated attempts to access items using the help tab, I gave up. The tab made reference to alternate sources (ie CRA) and I found this long and cumbersome.
