Unwanted pages
I have been using turbo tax for quite some time back when it was called quick tax. My complaint is when you print your taxes out you get 50 pages and you don't need them all, can you just make it print out the ones you really need?

There was no option to change RRSP contribution vs carry forward, I had to use the forms to directly change.
Why does it ask for past pension contribution information when there is none (0 entered on other forms).

when getting to the final page the program seemed to be getting caught in a loop and wouldn't move on to let me start a new form..extremely frustrated. Never ran across this before . may not bother with this product again. Made my day very stressful with 7 returns to file

Deceased
Very difficult to navigate when one of the spouses has passed away. Took a few times to realize we couldn't file together. Also you enter for a deceased and marital status at end of year is non existent. Why ask someone to specify it.

not easy to use
I bought the CD version. but I need to download the updated version and reinstall it. It not easy to use.

Faulty Instruction
This is at least the second consecutive year, where TurboTax advised me to locate my RRSP contribution room (on the CRA site) by "Line A". This does not exist as far as I can see. Please provide updated instructions.

Error messages galore
Filing was so much easier this year then previously however, I got an error message box on every page and had to continuously click to forward to the next page. Frustrating.

Found my first miscalculation by Turbo Tax
Been using TT for well over a decade and have been quite happy with it.. Am an accountant though not practicing in the income tax area. Found an error in one of the optimizers this year. It was suggesting a more expense course of action. Reported it to TT Canada and they agreed was an issue. Also suggest you modify the Canadian version to provide Canada contact numbers and not those of the USA. Got into the US que and wasted time there.
Usually give 4 or 5 stars to TT. Knocked it down to 3 which may have not been low enough given the issue above.

Tricky in spots
Can be confusing when having to change prior information. For example, will keep asking for RSP deductions even though you stated in the profile no RSP contributions were made.

endless loop
When trying to exit the program, it goes into an endless loop and it does not exit the program. Also, it only allows two decimal places and entering T5008 data, you had to truncate the data

Vicious Loop
Product keeps going in a vicious loop, and won't let me finish my tax return on any of the people I work on. Would love for it to not do that.

not good this year
There are a lot things one does not see unless you scroll down.
I do not know why i can still change my taxes after i have filed. this seems odd.
i am not happy with this years Turbo tax as it had me entering my investment income twice ...once with the t slips and a second time in a form so my investment income was doubled.

Did't optimize CAI credit on a split income return
Everything went well EXCEPT the program put the Climate Action Incentive on my return automatically and I got nothing. AFTER GETTING A NOTE IN THE MAIL FROM CRA AND LOOKING UP THE CAI; I tried it both ways I put it on my wife's return we got another $231 refund. I had to mail in the amended tax return!

Software Glitches
Been buying Turbo Tax for years. This year Turbo Tax CD would not load. Had to call support who gave me web download instructions for workable copy. Although the program worked, still had glitches saving files. Worked several hours on return, saved file, only to find it didn't save. Finally got it to save after three attempts. Something is not right with this years' software.

could be better
turbo tax ( downloadable software ) needs to offer an option to purchase per return. Standard version includes 8 returns - that's too many for the avg household or a couple who needs only 2.
on ' easy step ' forms, boxes that require input should offer a '?" feature to explain what needs to go in that box. Customer service staff don't understand the forms & can't offer any help explaining what that box means - very frustrating.
Easy step forms should be printable after completion - before selecting " continue ". this would help users remember what boxes need to be completed & what to enter next time they use turbo tax.

Not very User Friendly
Thought the Easy Step was kind of confusing when using the transfer option of CRA info...I re-entered information twice by accident cause I thought I had to in regards to selling a stock and realizing a capital gain. Thought previous years had a better product.

Printing Woes
Why can't I JUST print the Detailed Summary? It is really unnecessary to have to print 29 pages for myself and another 23 pages for my mother. That sure killed a few trees. I have it all saved in Turbo tax and you want me to print and print and print. I'll have to buy another ink cartridge. All I want is to see a summary and place it with the T4s and other paper. Furthermore why did 7 pages regarding TOSI print for both our files when it has absolutely nothing to do with us. I wasted an hour carefully reviewing every answer on both claims and can't find anywhere I clicked a box indicating TOSI applied. Ditto regarding sale of Principle Residence. Neither I nor my mother have ever sold any home so why did it keep coming up? This was a really frustraring experience! But the printing! That is truly FRUSTRATING. All I want is the SUMMARY! That's all I've ever wanted to print. JUST THE SUMMARY! I'm sure that's all a lot of people want. Please give me the choice. And by the way I don't think much of your questions below. For the record: No life changes; I'm a widow; I have grandchildren; and I'm retired.

Great software for a standard life only
I used this software for over 20 years and was very satisfied.
Unfortunately, my wife died last year and that software has become a nightmare this year.
Since I can not file jointly I have to close constantly one file and open the other and search for reference lines to transfer data.
Some of the fields need to be overridden and the whole file cannot be netfiled for my wife. My own file needs attachments and also needs to be mailed.
I really wasted my money this year.
Intuit could have just added a few choices in case of filing for a deceased person jointly.
Also being able to attach some PDF letter would have helped.

Not as good as previous editions
2018 version is not as user friendly as previous years. After you file it is like an endless loop that you can't end without closing the program. Deductions are not as easy to find. I felt very frustrated at times. I have used this program for over 15 years and this years version was the most frustrating.

Still has a few minor issues
1) It would be nice if you could print some of the tables (i.e. t4,t5,t3, etc for checking)
2) Most of the T slips allow you to do a split between husband/wife. The T5013 does not allow you to do this, and everything has to be calculated manually

2018 version had a few bugs
After using Quick Tax and Turbo Tax for over 10 years, I was a little disappointed with TurboTax 2018 as I had some trouble saving my return initially until I obtained a software update in late March 2019. Also, received an error about a T1135 line not filled in which was filled in.
