CD required updates
Used this product for 5 years, This is the first year auto updates would not work, Took a great many tries to finally get update from website. Your update list wouldn't work either. Got update from Q &A section. I loved your product till this year, very frustrated right now.

Be prepared for hiccups!
Sometimes things get intense. My uncomplicated tax return led me astray a few times, much of which is the fault of the feds for forever making them things more complex with obscure credits or penalties. One or two incidents with the program were annoying -- loops that didn't want to close, and a question with a vital word missing that meant I had to re-enter a lot of personal data that should have been transferred from previous years' returns

difficult update
I have used Turbo Tax for many years, this year was extremely difficult getting all up dates for this tax year to Net File. Had to be redirected numerous times out of program and search in many different forums.

Too many continuity errors ie jumping to wrong page, not following one return with another, having to go back and re-open wife's return because TT 'forgot to open it before moving on. Did not carry over info from 2017 accurately.

When printing a copy of the return for file why not print a simplified form instead of tons of paper. I don't recommend this program for volunteers of which I am one.

Always Disappointed
My first disappointment is the price. I bought on line this year and feel that I should have gotten it for at least $5.00 than the best price in a store. Instead, I had to pay the same price as in all the stores in my city. As always, I am disappointed that a user manual was unavailable. The box that the CD comes in the store is a big waste of packing material. All that is needed is an envelope. The software works reasonably well, but there is always something that does not work as well as hoped. When I was checking the return tonight, I clicked on line 129 to see where the amount came from. The click took me to a T4RSP slip for RRSP income. There was a withdrawal, but I had decided to declare as income the amount of the minimum payment due on my home buyers plan. There does not seem to be anyway to click on line 129 and be taken to the form for home buyers plan.

Ok until the end
The product seemed to be in a loop. When I did not want to rate the product it just looped back. It also claimed my return had changed even though I made no changes. The product worked fine until the end when I became very frustrated.

OK, some shortcomings
I found it confusing in a couple of places -- it asks you about whether you want to file even after you've filed. Also, it wasn't clear what, if anything, to do with the travel deduction and whether the thing in box 32 counts as that or if it's a separate thing. I still don't know.

going around in circles
I have used this software since 1997 (when it was QuickTax) and every year they add more and more add on services to the product. I can't even imagine how many times I've clicked the NEXT button to FINALLY get to the end. Also, there never really seems to be an end, short of shutting down the program, I couldn't get back to start a new return. Very frustrating

Not trust worthy
Don't appreciate you trying to sell other products after return done
Also previous return, software made a terrible mistake by recording my T4's in two places.
Took 3 years with Rev Can to get fixed.
Turbotax didn't even help.

Movin on
Am a senior and have used Turbotax for many years but each year it gets more difficult. Blame CRS, my age? Not designed for seniors hazy on computer skills. Basic system which worked last year not able this year. Had to up-grade. When filing joint returns, no indicators of spouse's return to be also filed. Got caught by this in 2016 with major difficulty rectifying. Don't expect much help from CRS even for simple oversight. Thought I could handle things for a few more years but, time for someone else to handle things. Thanks for the memories!

too many glitches

Won't use Next Year
I've used Turbo Tax for a number of years and processed dozens of returns for our family. It's always worked well. This year was different and I ended up spending way too much time on their support line. I had 'phantom' RRSP purchases show up in the PDF version, missing CAI amounts on the Forms version and neither agreeing with the Easy Step version. After a lot of time and review with support services, they sent me an update by email that solved the problems. I had done all the updates that I was prompted for when opening the program and even checked for updates under the help menu. I will say that the support staff were fantastic. They understood the issues and worked to get resolution - really appreciated them. That said, my confidence in the program is shaken so I'm going to go another route next time. The only reason I caught the glitch was because I open the CRA forms and the PDF forms and so noted the issues. If I had not, I would have been none the wiser.

It is all easy except this year the Sell your property comes up???
Then I must have save it 5/6 times or more. I say Yes to start another account but just keeps going in circle. File was updated, resaved, updated, resaved. No idea what I'm not getting. Very frustrating

Careful with split income optimizer
Split income optimizer is buggy. Figures out the best split, tells you your refund amount, but when selected, the optimzer amount was different from the actual amount displayed in the top left.

OK product
Works well, but generates lots of scary (but not applicable) warnings at the end. Like capital gains for house sale (when we haven't sold our house)! How many years until they get it right? Should be cheaper for 4 return package. Who has a family of 8???

Kind of annoying
I paid for the software yet am inundated with protection offers, audit offers, etc. and the buttons are intentionally placed to snag you if you are a "next" warrior.
Save the return before and it asks you to save again after, what changed?
I only went this route because I liked using Profile, but that's a bit pricey for personal use. Shame Turbo Tax doesn't have the quick form selection and review function from Profile.
It's not all bad, some of the suggestions it offers are good to double check, but the interface could still be a little cleaner. Too many screen jumps IMO, needs a nice summary page with the questions and responses

Be careul of Updates
This is the second year that this has happened whereby I have completed my tax return, saved it, and then returned at a later time. There is an update, which I agree to. But when it opens up my account after the update, there is no data. This year after playing around and phoning, I was able to recover it, but last year was unable to and so had to redo both mine and my wife's returns. VERY frustrating.

Fair only
After entering my data, I get an error message and could not proceed. I had to uninstall your program and then re-install and re-enter all my data. This is a common error according to social media,
so fix it before selling, this is not a beta site.

I have used this product for years, but this years version is the worst in terms of QA. The March 1 patches created file save errors, so I had to print my returns. There is no clear method to call for troubleshooting and the web FAQs were not helpful. Very disappointing version.

poorly labeled
had trouble entering in meal and cell phone expenses. also didn't find a place to enter in extracurricular activities for the kids. system booted me out when i tried to go to CRA to get my info. had to start ALLL over again

Software slipping
Seems to have slipped this year. It would not allow me to input tax paid by installments manually (I had to import data from CRA) and it did not identify Climate Action Incentive as a possible savings.

I had problems when I was trying to split farm income with my partner and forced a field and then could not get the correct information inserted. I also was unable to delete forms that I opened but did not need for my return. There should be a simple way to delete forms.
