Sales propaganda not a tax filing packing
E-file is a requirement by the Government of Canada and it is irritating having to click through all the sales and propaganda to file. I feel it is time to look at another option focused on tax returns and not sales.

error page
Doing the actual easy steps were great but, every time you finish a page you get this anointing error page that comes up that you have to clear before you do anything else and that made it time consuming. Half the time it took several times to hit the yes button before it cleared.

not happy with turbo this year it caused me to miss splitting income because it changed twice the X that says who's income to split.
now I have to file a T1 to get my return completed and miss the use of my money for the time it takes to correct. So I am not happy.

found not to be so user friendly, tried to do 3 returns and it does not go back to allow you to process a new one but holds the previous return information even though I said new return....tried a no at the end and it still does not go back to allow a completely new submission. had to amend screens. When trying to close it still goes to same return. most exasperating and time consuming.

2017 not as Great as 2016
I found this year's Turbotax froze way too often, would clear my data, and then when I went to file said I had opened up and created over-rides ?? When I selected clear - it would not clear these mysterious overrides nor would it allow me to file online. Last year's product was a breeze! This year, there were definitely a lot of glitches. Please address and resolve for next year.

Some Issues
The method to enter is unchanged - both good and bad. It just not move with the times. The download of T4s etc., is unhelpful. One of my deductions was not downloaded; the Quebec slips are mixed up across the entry columns; multiple downloads result in multiple entries - all of which can easily be programmed correctly in the software.

Netfile Problem due to TurboTax usability problem
Netfile failed for my wife's return. The TurboTax error message, and the 'Fix' UI were so confusing that I could not figure out from them what I was supposed to do to fix the problem.

Frustrating
quit trying to sell added services as we go thru the return process
if we wanted those services we'd have asked for them

GOOD VALUE
if an error is made because of a change there are too many places that must be adjusted.....ie public transportation... we edited to nil but there was still a box ticked on the information page which is very frustrating until you figure it out.

some hickups
Overall it's a good product. However, in the beginning there is a glitch: Even though I did not change my province, it wouldn't accept a NO. It kept prompting me in fill in a date.

T1135 Still Unusable
Why or why can't you guys add functionality to the T1135 for extra rows? You continually force many of us to fill paper T1135s because of this. What a pain.

Update Problems
The software worked great and solved a lot of our problems. However, whenever it wanted to do an update, it would be missing a file and unable to complete. I would have to go to the following site and download a whole new copy of the program. https://turbotax.intuit.ca/product/download/index.jsp That part was a pain.

Fell a bit short
Overall, I like Turbo Tax, except that they don't have a version for Macs. Gave 2 stars for ease of use because the program crashed as CRA files were downloading, so had to start the returns over and enter slips by hand.

Frustrations continue
I've used TT for several years, and every year it is very frustrating. I wish there was an alternative. After 4 years of complaining there is a "Back" button on many menus, but not on all of them. You enter a form and you can't go back to previous one. Very, very frustrating.

Slow and faulty
When I tried to use the import feature to Auto-fill my tax information the system crashed. I had to re-enter all of my information again since there is no warning that you should be saving your file.

Update Dates, please.
Looks like the 2017 Manitoba Tax Credit page still refers to '2016' in error. Took me a while to sort that out. Still, I punched through 6 tax returns in pretty short order. Please stay on top of TT updates.

Used to be better
It botched a save of my return. File name was there but file size was zero so had to do it all over again. I've been using this (or its predecessors WinTax, QuickTax) for 20 years and it seems to be getting less intuitive not more.

Worst Turbotax in many years
I have been using Turbotax for several years but this is the worst I have seen. I got stuck several times for example getting the wrong page when double clicking of a line of text; program not advising when printing would count against allowed number of returns. I will try some other software next year.

Not quite as good as past years
Some of the questions in EasyStep are worded imprecisely, making it unclear as to what are the proper responses. Once tax return was completed, reviewed, and submitted, program would continually cycle back through last steps to re-save and re-submit return. However, it ultimately remains easy to use and stable.
