Very slow and not well thought ou
This year there is no screen that links previous years information. Moving thru the screens is torture. The system is very slow. Don't get me wrong I like the overall system but there are some bugs that need addressing

bad CRA download experience
good product but a problem this year with auto filling download from CRA. one spouse downloads ok, but when downloading the second spouse it erases the first spouses download. Any recommendations for a tax program that does not have this fault?

Note friendly for deceased joint filing
I've used turbo tax and predecessors for 18 years with much success but this year due to wife passing in 2017 it became extremely complicated. I had to prepare each file separately and then go back and forth to entered required info. In addition it provided no optimal amount for splitting incomes etc.

It's just full of bugs
This product freezes frequently. If you have any errors with the CRA website, it's impossible to recover the information that was already provided... for the price, and having experience with different products, I expected more.

Review of TurboTax Standard
Using the product for more than 5 years. One software glitch in the Qc. Provincial form for Property Income already identified. Took me a couple of hours to go around it to be able to Netfile.
Customer Service was not very efficient around the T5013. Also identified to TurboTax. Rating 3/5. Would i use it next year: Yes

poorest version
This years version of the software was the worst version I've used and I have used this product for over 10 years. I generally use the forms style to enter data and it does not accept data properly.

Issues
I have been using this program for years but have run into some issues this year. It did not split investment income with my spouse when I entered the 50% into the box. I had to go in and manually split it myself. I have had to go back and double check everything I have entered to ensure it is correct. This has never happened before

just okay-some glitches
Ok. When completing one return and starting a new one, several redirects to screens previously seen.
Too many advertisements- a screen at the start should allow to see the rest or skip.

There is a problem using the File-Save button. I was saving the file using this method right up to the end, upon which I printed the returns. At this point I tried a few changes on my return to see their effects on my bottom line. Seeing no value in making these changes, I decided to close the program and reopen my file as it was before the changes. I was shocked, however, because the entire file I prepared had disappeared. The program was still on my computer, but my file with all the data was gone. I had to completely reenter all of the data, costing me several hours of work. Turbotax should give me a free copy for the 2018 taxes to compensate me.

Support was not Acceptable
I had some basic questions about the optimization coordination. The support person on the phone did not answered my questions to my satisfaction. Also, the use of how the optimizations in the drop down windows could have been outlined in more detail.

Script Error
I have used TurboTax for over 10 years.
As always, this year I purchased my TurboTax from Staples and this year I had a terrible time with a consistent "Script Error", which showed up multiple times on every screen and the screens were not working well. I also had a terrible time finding a fix for this error, which I finally found today. APPARENTLY THE ERROR WAS ON CD VERSION ONLY. Next year, I will download your product online or use another product (not decided yet).

Good but confusing
Disability deduction claims were not documented except on the printed return ($8001) It never showed up in any summary that I could see. It also appears that the Disability box was unchecked by TT for some unknown reason and had to be re-entered

More difficult this year
My wife and I like to our own returns separately. This year we had to do T4s one after another, then T5s etc. Suggest for next year you give us the option to do both together (like this year) or separately (like for 2016)
You have Charitable Donation and Medical optimizers but it appeared that when used, the optimized result was not transferred into the forms, but had to be manually put into the forms - not user friendly.
NetFile appeared to be much easier to use than in previous years - where additional questions were asked.

Did NOT enjoy the joint calculation of taxes.
Even though I would be doing my spouses return, I should have been given the option of doing a combined return verses doing them separately.
Otherwise, a great product.

Not as good as years past
For the first time in 15 years, TurboTax has frustrated me beyond belief. The biggest issue is that when I realized a mistake might have occurred, and I wished to back out, the system just seemed to hang. This caused two issues; first, there was not way out except to kill the program, and secondly, TurboTax did not perform an ongoing "Save" so that I would not have to re-enter everything I had already entered. The other issue that I had never experienced before was that I do the taxes for both myself and my wife and when downloading all the TSlip information from Revenue Canada, after doing my own, I was not informed that I needed to do anything special to do my wifes. But it failed because I was not registered as a valid agent for my wife. Something new I'm not sure, but it caused TurboTax to hang permanently.

slightly improved from last year, but still much too kludgy and awkward to use. After more than a dozen years with your software, I have figured out how to make it work, but it is not nearly as easy to do so as you think.

2017 tax package.
I found that the 2016 tax package was easier to use and . This 2017 package did not allow me to go back and include additional in formation. I had to prepare three Tax return packages to get it one right. I am not a one time user either.

2017 Turbo tax standard
This year, I found this more difficult. It didn't load/import my basic info from previous years. It didn't automatically have my RRSP contributions either. I couldn't go back to RRSP and put in contributions.
The new rule about Super RRSP first times was a bit misleading. So if anyone in your family has/had made a donation, no one was able to get that bonus.

Good but some bugs this year

Good Value for Money
I use the standard version to do my taxes even though I own bonds, equities and mutual funds, but am automatically directed to your more expensive product when the regular one will do the job by simply entering data in the T-Slip field, which I have been doing for years. I have completed two 2017 tax returns and noticed that the marginal tax rate is not always calculated correctly. I noticed the same issue last year. This item needs to be looked at immediately. Overall, Turbo Tax is good value for money and much cheaper than an accountant or tax preparation service.

Had to FAKE it
My husband and I file separately and he has not yet filed. The software WOULD NOT let me complete my file as "married", have a spouse "with income" and allow me to put $0.00. The software automatically includes as a DEPENDENT unless I stated an income amount - I had to FAKE it and put in an amount OVER the "dependent threshold" before it would complete.

I have used this program for several years. As your deductions change and you have different items to list more information would be nice to see, such as disability tax credits and what can be listed as medical items such as respite care.

confusing hard to understand parts
