Husband and Spouse returns done together.
Previous years seemed to go better.
I got stuck several times.
example:- Program did not do the 50% investment split. Had to enter manually.
Error fix on one return resulted in being directed to the other return.

needs some getting used to
Have been using Turbo Tax and it's previous Quick Tax for many years. This year I did not like having to re enter all personal info that in older versions was retrievable from previous years. Did not care for the new method of review, liked the old way where you saw everything. If it ain't broke don't fix it! Some new features were acceptable. Others were too automatic giving all the power to the computer. Sometimes too much is too much!

Glitch found
Hi, it has been a very useful and powerful and user-friendly tool for income tax return but I found a glitch in this version for 2017 income tax return.
From time to time, when I click "learn more", it stopped working and was automatically closed without giving me a chance to save all data I entered. It made me annoying whenever I need to enter the data again.
But this fault has not been fixed with automatic version update and it took me more time to complete my return.

some flaws
Right now I'm stuck in an endless loop. I finished a joint return (for me and my wife) and net-filed it and now I want to do a second and then a third return for my two daughters. TurboTax keeps forcing me back to the completed return when I click 'Yes" that I want to start a new return. I have no idea how I'm going to get out of this loop. I also have no idea how I'll ever get any kind of partial refund if it continues to refuse to let me start a new return.

Server issues.
I had several issues to get connected with the server, the forms were really slow to get refresh. Sometimes the screen was not showing the data I just upload and was taking couple of minutes to refresh.
The software crash 2 times and every time that I was opening the software again I will not get data that was previous saved.
I didn't had issues with the 2016 version... this year was slow and painful. Even when I get better quality and faster internet service and I wasn't using wireless.

Every one's responsibility
It is every one's responsibility to fill out their tax form. Turbo Tax helps one do this. However, the whole process of filling out the tax forms should be made a whole lot simpler.

not as easy to use
The wording of everything could be made easier to understand. Even though i said i did not own property or sell property the program still gave me a warning for selling of provincial property. This was the most confusing file i have done with TurboTax the years prior were much more user friendly.

printing out the cra copy
I have used this software for over 10 years and this is the first year that trying to print the copy for CRA Mailing is not right after saving your duplicate copy. Just sends you in a loop and found it for a couple of returns and then when I go to do the next return have to figure it out all again, NOT IMPRESSED total waste of time, Lots of people don't want to NETFILE, so please put the page back in that lets you see that you are printing the actual return.

problems with some areas
I find that its totally confusing with auto fill and the forms version. Its very hard to follow , I find it very different from previous years and harder to follow.

Problems getting started!
I installed Turbo Tax 2017 using the CD and I kept getting a script error message that I could not correct. I could not find a telephone number to call for help! After installing and uninstalling a couple of times I finally downloaded turbo tax 2017 from the web and this fixed the script problem. Lucky!

Ease of use
I fund this version (2017) was not as easy to use as pasty years. I have I have used turbo for many years and I struggled with some features this year.

Getting worse as years go by
I have been using Turbo Tax and its predecessors for years and this year I found it to be far inferior to previous products.
The charitable donation optimizer doesn't optimize between a couple and the instructions aren't right. It is not easy to switch between a couple in the easy step and the menus are not as good as previous.
TOO BAD!

Glitchy this year
Had difficulty with completing forms.
Asked for spouses info for "line 236" but no where did it say what that info was- had to leave program to do a google search.
Also the link to electronically add t4 info from "partners" did not work.
Had to enter manually.- I had no problem last year.

This was the first year in 10 that I have been unhappy with this product. Previously I thought it was great and would not be without it. I found it very frustrating this year. When you click on some numbers it would blank them out but not redirect you to where they were being calculated. I would fill information in the information form (easy start) and it would not get entered into the T1 general as it was suppose to.
I hope you get this fixed before next year or my loyalty will certainly disappear.

Still waiting
I have been waiting for years for Turbo Tax to release a Mac version of this software. Most people I know have been using Mac computers for many years now. There's no excuses anymore for only releasing versions for Windows. There are over 40 million Mac users out there. Please get with the times and release a Mac version for next year.

not as easy as previous versions
Previous versions have prompted me to allow the import of my previous years' information. This time I was not prompted, and had to figure how to do it. So importing my 2016 tax return info didn't save me any time in the end.
I liked the tabs at the top of the screen in previous years because they made it easy to go back and forth in the document. This year I'm locked out once I move on to the next page. Major glitch.

Meh
I have used TurboTax for several years and Quick tax prior. This is the first year I didn't love the product. Install problems with Win10. Glitchy. Naviation issues. I managed ok but my confidence is eroded.

Capital losses from previous years
I had a very hard time to get my losses from previous years to register on the Prov return. The info was all properly entered and the "losses" correctly appeared on the Federal return but NOT on the Prov. It took a lot of playing around to finally get it and there were no prompts to get me there. On this point I was very frustrated as Turbo Tax is suppose to eliminate the stress whereas it created stress for me

I would like to see in the review section on the page where you confirm birth date, SIN etc that the address is shown as well so you can confirm all was typed in correctly. Other than that the I find the tax software good and it does make doing your taxes easier.

frustrating
Been using this for years and it was usually fine. This year when you open the T-slips dialogue a very large window opens up that is much larger than your screen. You cannot close it, move it or shrink it and can't do anything else with it as the usual buttons to close it are off the page. You have to change the formatting of your display resolution and then it shrinks down to be able to be closed. But if you open it again - and you will - it starts all over again and you have to change the formatting of your display resolution all over again. There seems to be no permanent fix for it. Very, very frustrating.

I have used Turbo Tax back to when it was called Quicktax. First started using in 1998.
2016 and prior versions good
2017 not:
-$ change after each entry always went to zero
-setup is different and doesn't look right

Overpriced
I've been a happy user for many years. With many new free tax filing solutions out there, and the simplicity of this software, it is far overpriced. I recommend a change to the pricing model for this software. I just finished filing my taxes and unless the price drops next year, this may be the last year using Turbotax.

Unimpressed this year
For some reason this year's version sends me in a continuous loop when I completed my tax return and net-filed it. The program just wouldn't close. Very frustrating, and needs looking at. The actual navigation to complete the return was good as usual.

NEED IMPROVEMENTS
SOME INFORMATION IS DIFFICULT TO CHANGE. INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHANGING ARE NOT CORRECT. EG. CHANGING AN ADDRESS. PLEASE SIMPLYFY ENTERING BASIC INFORMATION! DONE TAXES FOR 30 YEARS, IT SHOULD NOT TAKE ME HOURS TO FIND A WAY TO CHANGE AN ADDRESS FROM A PREVIOUS YEAR CARRIED FORWARD!
