I am having some trouble with this year. First there was a problem load it from the CD and I had to get someone to help me fix it .Every time I finish a return I have trouble either closing it or starting a new return. It just keeps coming back to the same screen asking to save a pdf with I had already done.

Buggy
I have been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years, it's always been easy to use and reliable. This year was an exception to that string, with bugs showing up in a few places and causing additional time to repair. Support rep was very understanding and helpful, I am hopeful that these will be addressed in next year's version.

Caught in Loop
At the end of Turbotax, it gets stuck in a loop between print and trying to end to start a new return.

not as simple as usual
Not as easy to stop - go back- and then continue.
I somehow skipped the provincial tax forms
Im 85 years old so that could be some of the problem. The price is right.. This is the 1st time ive had problems but its done anyway. Netfile is still a snap.

There are free out there but no steps just forms
Lots of unneeded questions, to go back and add a missed item you have to step through all the pieces you already did to correct it. A little cumbersome for anyone with limited time or computer skills, ie Seniors..

It works
I had no problem importing from past years. One issue was that it automatically takes the spousal deduction without telling me. Every year I have to go and find the section and tick the other box. This is very annoying and somewhat of a letdown when the amount changes.
My return is very simple and this works fine. It is certainly better that the old method of paper forms and tables. Automatic netfile is very good too.

Okay software, but not great
If you do your tax return start to finish in one sitting everything is easy. However, if you do part of it, close the program and then come back another day it can be a bit of a pain in the neck to find the place you stopped at. For that reason, I give this software only a so-so rating.

Overseas tax problems
The software is easy to use and flows well. I ran into a big hitch because I work overseas for a Canadian company and my T4 is coded "ZZ". The software "assumed" I was a non-resident for income purposes and started asking questions about the sale of my principal residence in Canada, etc. I do not have non-residence status. CRA references me as a defacto resident meaning that my primary residence is in Canada, my family resides in that residence and I pay taxes like any other Canadian worker. However, I do not qualify for provincial medical coverage because I am outside Canada for more than 180 days a year. This is the first time I have encountered any problems with a tax software.
At no point did the software ask me if I was a non-resident or resident for tax purposes. It may need a bit of tweaking to lessen confusion when answering the questions.

some frustration
I am now retired. I do not know why Turbo Tax thinks I am running a business and prints 8 pages with no figures on them. I have never run a business and never will run a business and find this very frustrating, year after year. Other than that, I find the program relatively easy to use.

Suggestion
I would say I am a loyal customer: I am using TurboTax over 10 years (including US version).
I have a suggestion about the info in the help file. The mailing address of Revenu Quebec (Downtown Montreal) is outdated. Also, it will be much more user-friendly than when the main wizard tells the mailing address of Revenue Quebec (or any other mailing address) on the main screen. Except these, I am satisfied the product. Please keep up the good work!

stupid pop ups
I used the CD and the pop-up window stating it could not display or interpret or whatever the heck.... I must have had about 700 of these in the course of the filing! I have never had this problem before! So annoying

Quebec version could be improved
No summary and comparaison reports provided.
No provision to enter RL-27 data even if you provide
for RenoVert credit application
Not much assistance provided to insure that RL-1 used to report group health insurance premium paid by a company for retired workers, does not generated 'Deduction for workers ( L-201 ).
I would recommend it but with a number of warnings.

Almost a great product!
I would have given this product a 10 out of 10, but this version of Turbo Tax 2016 did not allowed me to save a PDF file to print later. it only gives me the option to print right away by sending the file to a printer, or Netfile. This time I wanted to save it and print it from another computer but the software did not allow it. It was fine with 2014 and 2015 but 2016 is a problem

Crashed during Netfile
The software is fairly easy to use, however during netfile the software crashed. I had to close it. I received an email confirmation but when I reopened the software it indicates that they were not filed.

had some problems
I've used Turbo T for the last 5-6 years but this issue was a bit different,
1. it didn't auto fill our name address SIN etc as it has in the past?
2. I downloaded and registered it (I thought) but when I came to use it it asked me to register it Again. I filled in the info and pressed register and the waited for "registration in Progress" for at least 25 minutes, in the end I had to ctrl-alt-delete out of it and start again, after that ot worked ok

Not as good as in the past
I really like Turbo Tax software, but the 2016/17 version is not as user friendly as in previous years. In the next couple of weeks I will be using the 2017/18 version to submit my 2017 taxes. I hope it is formatted back to the same style as before. This version does not have the help option, or at least it is not as useful.
It also did not offer suggestions as previous version did. I liked that option. I might not have used them all in the past, but they were there if I needed them. Especially the definitions as you went through the process. Why was all this removed?

With more people hitting retirement age you need the option to increase print size on the forms, etc.

Meh, I was dissapointed this year
Program crashes repeatedly, no auto save function or backup.
Usually use online, software version sucked. no cross importing information, don't wantto be forced to pay more to use your website.

TURBOTAX STANDARD PERSONAL
I have used this product for over 10 years and never had a problem. Unortuantely the 2017 version appears to have slowed down consierably. I use a 3 or 4 year old laptop running windows 10 and it is taking 10 to 15 seconds to process an entry before allowing another data entry. VERY IRRITATING TO WAIT FOR NEXT ENTRY

fRUSTRATING!

Lots of programing needed and not as fluid as it c
The terminology used in some areas isn't as friendly as it could be and the programing and flow is not smooth.
You could use a lot of work, but still better than filling out the forms by hand.
