Good Guidance, but Frustrations
The initial guidance for getting started with the fill-ins was okay. However, with every click of the mouse a message stated, "An error has occurred in the script on this page. Automation server can't create object." I tried, but wasn't able to find a solution to the problem in a reasonable amount of time, so would click the message from one to over 20 times before it disappeared. Also had trouble in switching back to certain pages for a second look while in guidance mode -- I should have just used the forms method as if I were using a paper edition.

Several weaknesses
Clarity in the investment Easy Step questions was an issue. I ended up with duplicating my entries.
Navigation between forms and easy step was awkward as I needed forms (i.e. loss) that weren't apparent in Easy Step.
The inability to print from screens is a major headache.

RRSP glitch
The program skipped the step where you enter the RRSP statement information. Can't get to that step without using the navigation bar to the left of the screen. Found out only after some trial and error. Almost cost me $900 in refund.
Been using Turbotax since 2012. First time to encounter any glitch.

more troubles every year
trouble loading at beginning had to remove and reload
used a password protected account but it loaded on both accounts displaying info on open account,WHY?
couldn't access account from short cut,not a good experience for a newby.
I'll decide next year whether to continue using Turbo Tax or go to something else? I read some reviews and see if anyone else had similar problems

Not good for Fedral and QC slip upload
I have been using TurboTax for many years but this year I found that the setup is not correctly done when you upload the federal and Quebec slips, it kept duplicating the amounts and I ended entering the information manually to avoid mistakes. The rest was good as always.

Disappointed
Ordered turbo Tax directly. (been doing it for several years). However, I have Windows XP, and the program wouldn't function. Very disappointed that I am expected to acquire a new computer system to be able to use it. I WOULD recommend it to those who have the facilities to be able to run it.

Problem
It was all very good like other years, until you seemed to have a glitch and we had to uninstall and reinstall, everything went to pieces. After many attempts to do just that I could still not get back on. Much frustration later, I finally got a phone number and called and a very helpful gentleman talked me thru correcting the error. I have used Turbo tax for probably 10 or 11 years and have always been satisfied.

I originally bought turbotax basic. Turns out that I needed standard to input my rrsp. There is a difference between optimization (which was what was on the box) and basic filing.

Clunky and awkward
I come from a professional tax background but have now retired. I am amazed that anyone can actually navigate through this software and get results. Moving around the software is awkward (there is no "jump" or "go back" feature) and many forms are counter-intuitive. There are many features that have to be accommodated by mickey-mouse work-arounds which are time consuming and likely to introduce errors. I cannot recommend this product. It's relatively cheap - you get what you pay for.

User Experience updates badly needed!
- Product wording for easy step should be much simpler
- In easy step it does not allow for multiple leased vehicles for employment expenses. Work around is to state "Second Employer"

Cost More than It Should Have.
I had a bit of a struggle with the set up of the pages. I found it hard to review my entries. I changed over from the other tax program, but didn't find it easier, only different.

Not as user friendly as previous years
In previous years, Turbo tax was more user friendly with popups that gave pointers immediately for tax savings. This year it just leaves one to guess. Not sure if I will go for this software next year.

More complicated than previous versions
I love turbotax but found this years to be alot less user friendly than previous years and the wizard was horrible this year. Please go back to earlier versions.

Installation was a bit of a challenge this year
Hi folks,
The package tours through your taxes with ease and the interface is well built and intuitive.
This year though the "online upgrade" required a complete application re-install, which was time consuming.
This is the first time it's had these kinds of issues.

Problems with the program
When entering T-slips for a retired couple the program does not ask for the T5007 slip for one of the individuals even though the profile indicates there is a slip for that individual.

Improve Northern Residents Deduction
I have been using this software for several years and with great results. Wish there was not an error generated with Northern Residents additional amount overide. Prevents using Netfile for both spousal returns. Very annoying. Part of the ease of use that made this software attractive was the ability to Netfile easily. Hoping for an improvement

Multiple Software Bugs
Had to remove and reinstall several times in attempt to cure error messages that ultimately led to being unable to install updates. Clearly product was not ready for a Windows 10 OS. Marked departure in performance of prior year products.

Good Product
I have used this program for many years and was disappointed on the error messages I had to deal with. Talked to 3 different customer service people and finally got issue solved by third person. I spent probably a total of 4-5 hours dealing with this problem. Hopefully will not have this issue again!

Good when it works
When I ticked yes to "would I recommend this product" it would be with caution. I have been using TurboTax for years with very little trouble but this year was not good. I purchased TurboTax Standard as I usually do. To begin it was not easy to get it to install. When I finally got it to work it had updates to be done. The updates would not work. I kept getting an error message. I was told to uninstall, reinstall and then update. Did that three times, still did not work. Checked online and found many other people experiencing the same problem. Tried the update download but still got the error message. Finally had to download complete program to get it to work. This caused a lot of frustration and wasted time. I would like to use TurboTax next year but only if I was sure that I would not have a repeat of this years problems.

Disability allowance transfer
My son is disabled. He gets the disability tax credit. He doesn't need it so I transfer it to his mum.
The only way I can stop this credit (8001) from being claimed on his form is if I say to turbo tax he is not disabled. However if I do this it is not correct, and besides he loses the working income tax disability.
I want a question in the interview process that says 'are you disabled' and then 'are you transferring the disability amount to someone?'. If I answer yes, it just doesn't claim the 8001.

More frustrating every year
I've used TurboTax for the past 3 tax years. Each year the program seems to get more difficult and confusing to use. This year's program took an amount from a T4A and inserted it as business income This caused repeated error messages which took me a long time to figure out and correct by manually deleting the amount and re-entering in a field where the program wasn't asking for business name, industry code and Province where my non-existent business was located.
I don't think I would buy this software for future tax years.

no real support and vrious errors in the pogram
Every year the program is getting less friendly. No real support or live chat is avaiable if you have questions. This year software has problem upgrading most of the time you start turbotax. various error messages are keep coming. I had trouble filing Quebec taxes, keep saying that internet connection is not avaiable, while we can use other website.
Customer support line must be provided or should be included in the program or live chat.

Problem with Update
I had a problem this year running updates and at one point I had to Uninstall and Reinstall. This meant I had to retrieve my Key from email, not always an easy thing.

No Mac version
You have to know what you are doing to use this software, you can easily miss things or enter the wrong information and not know it. However I do really like that it keeps all your info and carrys it over year after year.
