Small Print Size
Print font size is extremely small when printed even though it is enlarged on the screen.
Registration and Net File confirmation are ridiculously small and very hard to read.
Please correct this.

not all forms are easy to understand
lots of info included but trying to find the ones for NT is hard to find.
IE: simplified method for calculating travel allowance.
or splitting your form with revenue Canada form. make it one or the other.

OK but navigation difficulties
I found I had difficulty navigating & finding the location to enter data. Example would be is to go back to the main TI form, do you use the windows tab or the view tab. I also had an issue to enter medical expense deductions the main T1 form does not have a deduction line for medical deduction you need to search various forms to find the expense form then check if the info was entered into the provincial tax credit form finally as I was entering a joint return with my wife her expenses were not shown on her return but was accumulated with my medical expenses.
The program in the completion has done the process I feel correctly unfortunately most of us use this program once a year so there is a re-learn of the process perhaps I should have used the one step approach but my computer expertise ego got the best of me.

some good some not so good
Somewhat easier than previous versions. Confusing how to return to fill in some information that was missed during original inputting. (missed filling in no of months receiving CPP on T4A (P), box 23) Almost ended up having 3 forms inputted. Only discovered when I noticed refund was greatly reduced. Ended up deleting all and re starting. Needs looking into.

Not as good as last year
In previous years, the personal information was transferred form the last year's return. This was not the case this year and I had to enter the information ... not a lot of work but less efficient that other years.

gets the job done
I like it for the efficiency but have concerns i am not getting all tax breaks. For example, not sure how to transfer tuition tax credits to father from son who lives at home. Your info suggests there is a way. When i tried with the flow chart it would not link up. Perhaps it is just me. I will probably call revenue Canada and ask. Overall good program and I DO like turbo tax. Thank you

Missing saved copies
I worked on my taxes for over an hour one day and continued to hit save and even save as (over the file name) and when I went back into the application a few hours later it only had a copy form two weeks earlier. Everything new I had entered has been lost.

Not as good as previous years
There is an error in the program under the dependent deductions. It forces you to claim the Back to School deduction because the summary page includes it but appears BEFORE it asks if you want to claim it. There is no way around it but to claim it then say no to claiming it. I also entered all of the medical expenses and the system crashed before I could save it! QuickTax should have an automatic save built in!!!!!!

Average same stuff difefrent year
Try using add mode as a feature to enter data for 2017,
so us advanced users do not have to enter decimals.........
The last "turbo tax " update resulted in script loss on Line 2?, and loss of help data functionality.

Confusing steps for filing ServiceCanada T4A slips
Could not enter an easy step T4A box 048 for income from a ServiceCanada Employment Training Program. I made no income at all in 2016 except for this training session. TurboTax forced me to go through filing a self employed business form which was impossible to do as nothing applied to me. TurboTax should have a quick redirect with detailed explanations on how to accurately enter the T4A box 048 as other income for an unemployed person. It took me hours to finally decide what to do with the small amount before I could Netfile!

Problems this year!
I had to reinstall TurboTax as every time there was a new 'upgrade' I continuously got 'script error line 1' This was extremely frustrating and as I noted on-line I was not the only one having this issue.

Okay until printing
All went relatively well until it was time to print the return and the acknowledgement of receipt of the return. Having prepared returns for myself and family members, I was subjected to an unreadable printout in each case that barely filled one quarter of each page--along with a 5 page printout of acknowledgement that could have been done in half a page.
While I'm not sure if the problem is with Turbotax or the CRA, it has been very annoying. I have been a faithful user of this software for years and have never experienced such an issue before.

1) there is no option to import previous years info.
2) had to do it 4 times to get 2 that were the same....exactly the same info entered! We'll see if CRA accepts it.

Sometimes it screws up Web pages
It's OK but to be sure you have to sign up for their Line by Line review which now becomes the correct price.
I've used this product for a number of years but this will be my last and I will look for an alternative.

netfile errors
states if you hit override files your netfile will not get submittd but it still does we took a chance after 1 and a half hours tryng to fix this error when it stated no errors found
you need to change the wordings

Good Product, But Trouble with Install
Had trouble with install. I had to install NET 4.0 independently to make the software run. You would think the software developers would include that on the install disk. No problem for myself as I am computer savvy, however for people who are not, it would be a nightmare.

Issue with RRSP carryforward
The only problem I faced this year was it carry forwarded 50K unused RRSP deductions to my return this year. The problem was that I didn't have any unused credits. My tax return told me I had a 20K refund until I found the problem and fixed it
Outside of that issue, the software performed as expected. Transmission to CRA was easier than ever

Meh...

Just OK
Be sure to check that the info is correct. Several times I saved the latest and found previous info still on it although removed as per instructions. The med expenses optimiser does not work. I have a small income and no tax to pay and it kept saying I should claim but going this route would have ;lost us the claim and several thousand dollars.

Netfile not working
So much for quick and easy. The software works fine except I couldn't automatically netfile - had to upload manually, which worked fine, but not what I expected from this product.

Turbo Tax
Will be looking for a different software package next year. I have used turbo tax back to the days that it was called by a different name. Over the years it did improve, but now it is going backwards. The registration window is a total mess for example and I was unable to netfile at the end. Along with a variety of other annoying flaws these things culminated in a very unhappy experience.

good software with quirks
I have problems with tick off fields which do not accept the mark off and especially with line 476 which does not accept the instalment payments. These changes are absolutely necessary, each field must be able to accept information.
Also if you are a return customer, which I am, you must tell the customer that the renewal is coming up not just a software. this year I had double entry and supply and it took me a very long time to have the credit for the second copy, and only on the 3rd try, with promise on all 3 for correction. you must have a separate contact for billing.

I used this program in the past, and loved it. this year it seems flawed. cant file my return. reverts to selection screen instead of file confirmation. this software was a reliable tax product in the past but 2017 software has issues.
