Not always INTUITive
So after going through the whole deal and even filing returns and continuing past the prompt to do this survey, the next screen I get a message box pop up saying that our returns have been modified, and would I like to save them. I find that confusing and annoying.
After having pretty much completed both my and my spouse's returns, I had to start from the beginning with both of our returns after looking into one of the "warnings". I was taken to a totally different looking screen, with no back button. So I tried closing that screen. I was prompted to save or not. I thought maybe I'd done something I shouldn't have and thinking that it was referring to saving that last step, I opted not to save. The whole program shut down and I had to start from the very beginning. I didn't find that step very INTUITive.

If it Ain't Broke ....
The new version of Turbo Tax is Intuit's Windows 8 experiment. Navigation is awful. Readability is terrible. Instructions are confusing. Software is supposed to make tax preparation simpler, not more complicated. Unless they go back to the old format, I won't be using them again and I have used this product for over 10 years. Why do companies do this - wreck a perfectly decent product for the sake of what .....?

I have used TurboTax and its predecessor for many many years and I have always been happy with the program. However, this year, I was not impressed at all with the "Help" embedded in the program. It was useless to me on 4 occasions. I do have a somewhat complicated tax return, but it couldn't answer some basic questions. As well, I switched my home Money Manager software to Quicken (an intuit product as well) and Overall I am not happy with Intuit as they drag their feet to fix a known sound problem with Quicken.

How do I know if I've filed???
Everything seems to work well, going step by step, but when I get to the Netfile section, I get NO confirmation that my returns have been sent, and no indication that the software is even sending them??

Confused Student
I think turbotax is really easy to use except for the education part. You don't explain how t carry forward tuition fees to be used by the individual (not anyone else) at a later time. I really don't know if I have done this right and really hope I will still be able to use them when I have an actual job full time. And there is no where I can check

Needs work
Fairly easy to use, but assumes spousal deduction when you do not yet have amounts for wife. You get a false return of $4000 plus when in reality it is only $500. Most spouses work these days so the spousal deduction should be a question yes or no. Simple isn't it.!

T5 Box 17 Blues
TurboTax is a great product - but every year they ignore my common-sense suggestion, so I'm taking off two stars. What's the problem?
WHY DO YOU INSIST ON PUTTING BOX 17 OF THE T5 ON A SEPARATE SCREEN? There is plenty of room for it on the main T5 screen. But what's worse, is that amounts entered in Box 17 inexplicably do not show up in the T5 summary. WHY? WHY??? This is stupid, confusing - FIX IT.

Good product
While the product was easy to use and follow there are some issues with Netfile when dealing with QC employment province and residence elsewhere. Trying to get a point of contact from the Turbo Tax website was frustrating at best and the Q&A section just told me to reenter my info which I did despite it being correct. Same error and no 'live person' to talk too just gave up and mailed in my return.

I have used this product in the past. The last two years have been terrible. 2013 I used the online version it was awful. 2014 I went back to the Program format for download expecting a readable easy to understand format. I can only assume it was there because the size of text was so small it was almost impossible to read. Trying to how to make the text larger was a complete waste of time as the solution was never found.

Good but needs more deductions
Tis was good and easy to use but there needs to be a
specific section for Mic deductions for thins not listed. Such as work cloths and safety shoes. Also for things like medical expenses not listed.

I know you spent time on the interview interface.
however the form process has not changed since version 1.
double clicking should send you to the underlying fomr.
The process should be a lot easier.

TurboTax Standard
While waiting for a direct deposit account to be set-up (which took a few weeks), the tax return I had completed was missing most of the medical receipts that I had worked on for hours. I had to redo it all when all I should have had to do was file the taxes with Netfile. I did save the file, so I don't know why this did this. I did not have this problem with TurboTax Basic in 2013.

Technology Issue
I was not able to use the Turbo Tax on my home computer so, while the program is great to use, it was very inconvenient in that I had to find other systems to prepare my returns on. I kept getting a message that the program wouldn't work and I had to upload internet explorer but, when I attempted to do this, it would not upload. It may have had something to do with Google Chrome. This really needs to be corrected for next year or I will not be purchasing your program.

OK, but desparately needs data (Excel) import.
Works well for walking through, managing lot of complex situations, and providing suggestions. The Medical Expense data entry is stuck in the DARK AGES and needs to i) be a spreadsheet type matrix (scrolling?), and ii) allow import from external program, or at least a .CSV file. Hard to work with when you have 100 or more entries. I expect investment info is the same way for heinous data entry. TurboTax is HORRIBLE for this.

Some Help for Seniors Deductions
It would be very, very helpful if the TurboTax software were to give a hint of what some of the deductions entail to see if the user is eligible or not and a direction of where to go to find further info. If the user were to hover over a deduction headline, the program can give a short explanation. There are many people losing out because the government does not make it very clear.

Dated and old
I have been using the product for years; haven't seen any real improvement in all that time.
The one strong point this product does have is the summary window reporting live changes as they are made.
If they keep the summary window I will probably continue to purchase the product, if they drop it, probably not.

Medical expenses software glitch
This year I had a HUGE problem with how the software handled medical expenses. The program allocated 100% of our medical expenses to my wife's (lower income) return. The Medical Expense Optimizer showed that we would pay about $1,000 less in taxes if 100% were allocated to my return instead of hers. Yet, the program would not let me do this in whole or in part. I had to manually over ride with the result that I could not eFile. This means extra expenses and time spent by me. There is a software bug because the publisher claims the software allocates medical expenses to get the maximum income tax benefit for a married couple, but the opposite was the case for our returns.

Too Bad About Macs
The program is very good. Pretty easy to use for basic taxes. I am disapointed that the online and Mac versions are only offered at a premium price. I dont quite understand the logic there. I would like to see a change in that.
