Helpful with minor bugs
When I change profile, I expect that relevant forms are changed or deleted. However, this was not case when I changed profile for Employment expenses. I had to track down the original form and delete the amount, even though I had changed profile to omit all employment expenses. This is second bug I have found in TurboTax 2014.

glitchy this year
found the printing of the final returns to pdf failed more than once (I do 6 family members).
I did not change any personal information on any return and the net file submission failed because of supposed differences in personal address information. this is not the first year this has happened to me. I had to file paper. this has been random with different family member's each year.

UI Design
The UI design results in a lot of scrolling on a laptop. This makes it more difficult. Providing an option to use a more compact and/or business oriented view would be good. The compact view would use smaller fonts, less whitespace and probably no or smaller images. This is an application designed for purpose oriented adults and the excessive use of graphics trivializes it. Income taxes are serious and should not be treated like a game.

Good But
Encountered script errors while trying to review forms. The errors were in fields carried forward from last year's return and could not be corrected.
Could not use NetFile because of the non error(s).
Used a manual override to NOT change the T1 fields in question. Was then able to use NetFile.

Good But still wishing for MAC

Can NOT print out the Summaries !!!
It is absolutely maddening that one CANNOT print out the income tax summaries for the 2014 tax year, nor the year to year comparison charts. I was able to do it in 2013, but it is not possible in 2014. I couldn't find a work-around, either.

It is too commercial, you keep on wanting to upsell me on something I don't need. It was easy to use but printing it was a pain. you keep printing forms that are blank, why print blank forms?

Unable to complete a shared Income tax because one of the individuals was deceased wanted to split income unable to do wanted to input amounts directly to form 1032 would not take numbers although amounts were previously oo Waited 3 hours before Turbo Tax returned call.

Trouble Netfiling
Product refused to Netfile through TurboTax. Had to upload and netfile myself. Big hassle. Liked the product in previous years, but for 2014 return it failed on the netfiling aspect.

This return format is good for standard submissions but only after running through it several times to make sure you haven't missed something and to understand what has been submitted. It is simple in that there are only the 2 buttons at each summary level "back" and "continue". It is confusing when you get to the end of the filing and when submitting to CRA. I did not really understand where I really was in the process of submitting to CRA and managed to stumble through but was never asked to confirm the auto deposit information so don't know what will happen to the refund.

It was so much easier
I MUCH preferred the previous set-up for Turbo tax .This new system is harder to navigate < I have always used turbo tax previously (even tried a different program once but switched back to turbo tax the same year)But now Im not sure about this format at all. Spent far toooooo much time trying to locate info and trying find earlier entries. Not as user friendly as in earlier programs

User interface could use help
I appreciate the accuracy of Turbo Tax Canada. However, unlike its US counterpart, the use interface is not very good. I cannot generally right click for data sources, or directly delete forms I don't want or easily navigate within the program.

The worst I've seen
Too many conditions
IE. if you lose your hard drive just after installing "turbo tax" What you need to go through in order to get turbo tax re installed and working again.

Screen Scaling Poor
The scaling of fonts and window sizing is poor on a high resolution monitor. (MacBook Pro retina 15")
Buttons and menu text is clipped.
Dialogs and entry boxes and miniature and barely useable.
The tax program itself is fine. Have used it for years.

Some suggestions to make it better
1. When submitting T slip information for husband and spouse , follow through with one individual at a time.
2. When submitting tax return to the CRA, indicate on the submission sheet that if you have problems , give direction s on how to change Internet explorer with SSL and TLS changes. I really got frustrated searching for info. on what to do . It is not obvious

Not as good as last
I did not find this years issue of Turbo Tax to be as easy to operate as previous years. I found it difficult to leave one tax return and proceed onto another one. I do several returns for family members and quite often questions arise that are only answered with a phone call, necessitating leaving that return and going to another.
Also although NETFILE is quick, seems easy, the rules outlining its use seems to preclude using TURBO TAX to do other than your OWN personal tax. Am I right

need to be more friendly
The software works but needs to be more friendly or provide more tips to solve issues. it highlithed an issue and keeps turning in circles with the option "fix". Finally I had to go to the forms and manually fixed. still not sure why the soft put RC62 in a line that was inaccurate

Difficult Navagation
HAD LOTS OF PROBLEMS THIS YEAR. HAVE USED THIS PROGRAM AND ITS CHANGES OVER POSSIBLY TEN YEARS AND HAD LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH MY COMPUTER COMMUNICATING WTIH TURO TAX . VERY FRUSTATING WHEN TRYING TO GET PRINTED COPIES AND KEEPING THE PROGRAM FROM FREEZING UP.. I AM A VERY LOYAL CUSTOMER AND WILL PROBABLY USE THE PROGRAM NEXT YEAR....BUT PLEASE MAKE IT AN EASIER JOB NEXT YEAR THAN IT HAS BEEN THIS YEAR.

Income Tax Completion 2014
The Turbo Tax format was easy to follow. The Net Filing became a challenge in that I did not receive confirmation of filing from Revenue Canada however I did receive confirmation #'s at the end of the return which have been copied for record purposes. Attempts to contact TurboTax and Revenue Canada, to ensure our returns had been received, (via Net File) failed.
I can only assume that both my wife's and my I.T.returns
were forwarded/received by Revenue Canada.
