A few suggestions for future versions
When clicking "Detailed Tax Summary", please have it open in separate window so you can easily go back to where you were on Easy Step entering info. Having to use "Take Me To" to get back every time is a nuisance. Also, when viewing medical expenses or donations for editing/deleting -- the window is very small and you can only see partial detail. To expand detail, one has to open the item and then there is no delete option there and you have to "go back", slide down the list again to delete from main list. Medical Optimizer needs improvement.

Defects
1. Omission: income splitting alters (immediately) other data in a return, e.g. tax liability of the other spouse. This is poorly documented (and not known by phone help staff at Quicken.)
2. Tax Return Enclosures List for (new) Condensed Returns is poorly documented, lists the ON-BEN form to be attached to the shortened T1 yet does not print it for enclosure.

Doesn't optimize deductions
I had to play around with where I would file my child actvity credits to see where I received the most benefit. The feedback online was that it didnt matter, however when I moved it under my wife's deductions, it made a significant difference in what she owed.

Need better help and tools
I wish TurboTax had more "layperson" tips and some more tools to explore the effect of splitting deductions between spouses. "Who wants to claim the dependent amount?" it asks. Well, I don't know - I'm not the tax expert. How about a little guidance? Same goes for Fitness Amount and Art Amount. I play around with the numbers in the software, but it seems to have no effect on the bottom line. Clicking Help offers no guidance. How about an explanation of why the bottom line doesn't change? Is it because over a certain amount it doesn't matter? It's quite frustrating...

Needs Improvement
Better integration with Windows allowing select, cut, paste with mouse would greatly improve ease of use.
Back and forth navigation within the return is still clumsy.

ok tax prep softwear
Only concern I have noted is for last 2 years I have used this for my childs taxes as well as my own. She has had her child tax benefit cancelled both years but the view page on turbo tax showed she would recieve the benefit. Not sure how that worked

Difficult to navigate
The forms used do not stay open and they are difficult to remove if opened in error. The best feature is that Quebec returns can be done by the software at a reasonable cost.

wish there was a disk for Apples!!
I have been using this product for at least 10 years; an excellent program to complete your taxes and the Standard package easily supports more complex returns. The big negative is that I recently changed to Apple products and I can't get a disk compatiable to its operating system and the download is cost prohibitive - I have to borrow a friends computer to complete 6 returns.

I found Turbo tax this year significantly less helpful and less intuitive. Not sure why you changed it to be less helpful but I found it much more confusing than prior years. This used to be easy to use.
I may try other products as a result.

Jury still out
This was my first exposure to the Turbo tax software, although I have used other software from Intuit before. In most cases I found the navigating difficult at first, but easier as I got to know it. It was annoying to have my work time constantly interrupted by the ads for other services. These could have been collected and put in one spot for the user to choose to explore or not.
As long as Turbo does not introduce a radically different software, I will probably use this version again next year.

easystep:transfer education gives no choice of who it goes to in provincial section.Iassumed checking one in federal would be same in provicial but on return other was chosen.

Continues to have bugs
I've been using it for years, and would switch to another supplier if I didn't have to go through a new learning curve! Using TurboTax Standard 2013, I found that ther was no way to save Flags in the EasyStep process. I could create them, fill in a name and note, but there was no SAVE button, so they just disappeared.
The "advice" given by the program said I should defer some of my charity amount to next year, but it didn't indicate how much. By trial and error, I found that even deferring a small amount caused my refund amount to reduce. Obviously, wrong advice!

not as good this year..
Well.. some weird string pointer errors on RC310..
And it told me I had declared interest income which I hadn't actually declared.. saying that it needed to add up before I could netfile. (After trying to figure this out for a while, I tried out of desperation to just file anyways, and luckily it went through).

Please remove adds
Easy to use but we did not like all the adds that kept appearing - very distracting. We have used Turbo tax for at least 4 years but the adds actually make me want to try another prioduct.

Netfile complications
Everything works pretty well though with combined spousal returns, rather confusing as to what is going on with little explanation. Does not provide much opportunity for exploring options for filing purposes.
Also, problem when netfiling and get the question regarding interest from various sources adding up to a specified value - does not make sense!! Unclear how the total interest figure is derived and can't match it. Should link back to the values deriving the total. Did not figure it out, did not make sense, ignored and filed anyway. Frustrating and annoying!!

Hate The Ads
I like using Turbo Tax, but I hate all the promotional bull. I don't want to do my will, I don't want to have secure file bla blah blah, I don't want a reviewer, I don't want to represented.......
I want to get my taxes done thats all. The amount of promotional stuff keeps getting larger, how about making the product cheaper if we have to face all this promo stuff in my face.

Too Many Pitches to Sell Services and Programs
I paid for the program therefore why am I subjected to numerous up selling tactics? Even worse is your perverse attempt to sell extra products. I paid for this product I and I expect it to serve its sole purpose, not as a nuisance pitchman that I cannot even hang-up upon!!

Confusing
I used TurboTax last year and found it to be very user friendly. This year I had a similar type of return but with a larger casual income amount and it was a nightmare. It would not go forward until I put in the name and tax number of my business, which I didn't have. Ultimately I had to uninstall and reinstall the program and even then it was a nightmare as I couldn't use the Netfile option, the main reason I had purchased the program. This might have been because I finished my taxes on the due date. All and all, very frustrating
