The Medical Receipts Worksheet does not match receipts by pharmacy, doctor, etc. Receipts contain a gross amount and the net paid after insurance, not the insured amount (therefor must do this calculation manually). Also, the form requires redundant repetitions of patient name, pharmacy, doctor, etc. without the ability to copy and paste them.

Turbo Tax
Can be very frustrating. A BACK button would make a world of difference.
Also filed for my kids and there was no connection between the returns so I had no idea if I should transfer tuition. I had to do a ton of trial and error to optimize my return.

3. No easy way to move around pages or info or switch from Forms to Easy Step

Tax form issues
One third of the screen is taken up with the advertising of a paid service for questions about a return. This is excess marketing and makes manipulating though the pages of the return far more complicated. Also seems impossible to jump from one part of the form to another when checking things. And finally, whatever happened to the TurboTax help phone number?

confusing and over complicated
I have been using Turbotax for years but this year I found it very difficult and had to keep going back for
information. I found the help to be very tough because
the information did not help. I was unable to use the
medical expenses optomizer as it did not give the
right numbers. I will be looking at other programs to
hopefully find something easier.

getting harder to use every year
doing taxes is hard enough on a person. it seems like this program just tries to make it harder every year by putting in more hidden little things that guys like me who aren't computer or tax savvy have a real hard time finding or understanding. and the help section was of no use to me at all this year. its a great program and it saves me money in the long run but it needs to be made more user friendly with less little hidden tricks. be straight up with us guys out here on the front lines and make it easier for us to understand what we need to do for our taxes and I assure you that we will keep using your software for a long time to come. I will try you guys again next year but it will be the last time I use you if you make it even harder than it was this year.

The 2013 version of TurboTax has the annoying habit of blanking out entry data when you click on individual data cells shown on the T1 and Sched pages.

new version
It seems like every year they try to automate some features, easy steps for example is hard to stop at one point and then navigate back to where you want to go after a while. If you start using forms after that selection it does not let you enter some data in based on the answers you picked on easy steps. It should be transparent. I am finding that it is getting very hard to do you tax on this software. I have purchased this product since inception. Net filing is another point.

only game in town
There are errors and glitches in the program. For example, even though my profile only said capital gains from stocks, every time I went through income I had to answer all the various capital gains questions (farm, foreign, etc.)
They spend more effort trying to upsell another program than complete your taxes. I don't need popups inviting me to spend money on a Will program.
Cd version does not download data from online version - very frustrating.

Although initially excited about the program we ended up totally frustrated! We could not file our return on NETFILE. The button would not activate. We tried many times, re-booted, etc. Very frustrating!!!!! We are now printing to mail, an option we did not want!

Printing Process Needs Improvement
Printing the tax return needs to be improved immensely. Very frustrating saving two different formats and printing two different formats. There should be a choice if you want to print your return for mailing and keep a copy for yourself. You should be able to do this in one step instead of trying to figure out what the program wants you to do.

Unhappy User
After using this program for many years, this year I found it very difficult and confusing. Far too many questions in the interview for easy step part. Do not appreciate the Pop Up Ads for up-grading the program, and additional program. I only use the program to do my our own personal taxes so do not feeel comfortable using the forms without the Easy-Step part.

STUCK IN QUEBEC
While I recognize that Intuit/TurboTax has a difficult challenge (the different jurisdictions; changing tax laws; and, we must not forget Quebec's repressive language laws), there are opportunities to make the workflow easier, more intuitive, faster. For example, the Medical Expense feature does not instill certainty that the best options are being selected. A summary of the calculations for the different options that are available, the changes in refund amounts and perhaps an interactive tool allowing changes to the options to see the effect on the refund will be very useful. There are other examples too. Perhaps, Intuit can extend an offer to form focus groups 8^)

This is our 2nd year of filing. Seemed more difficult to navigate and took more effort than we expected. Not the easiest format to get around. Had some difficulty going back to change some of our numbers but finally got it right.

not enough options
If I wanted to explore various options (such as claiming medical expenses), I had to say "yes, I want to do this." If I decided NOT to pursue that option, I was constantly warned and reminded that I hadn't entered the information. There should be an "exploratory option" where I can indicate "maybe", be given the info and then decide whether or not I want to claim it.

Average
As I am preparing my tax forms I want to be able to save/print the various summaries, such as the income summary, the deduction summary etc. I did that but it is vey awkward with TT.
Also I want to print the final result but NOT 40 pages of that. I want about 3 or 4 pages max.
There should be more helpful directions along the way.
I suggest you sit behind a person such as I, struggling with the taxes, and see where my frustration and confusion is most evident. No fare saying anything. Repeat that with a few dozen people. You'll improve your product for sure.

We are generally satisfy with Quicktax but very disappoint after so many years, it still doesn't have the ability to import spouse data to a combined filing. The only solution is manually enter all the data for the spouse after add to personal info.

It's Been Better
I've used TurboTax for years and have always been impressed with the easy to follow step by step guidance. Not so much this year. It seems like the Easy Step Guide takes you to the next form, and then goes for coffee while you flounder your way through the form. I'd like to see maybe three levels of guidance (self-guided, escorted and full tour guide). I will continue to use it though.

Still better than old fashioned way
I don't recommend use of Easy Mode.
It's easy alright, but misses data it should include, which is difficult and frustrating to correct. The help comments often are inadequate.
I had to go to the old way, using the Forms Method,
in order to navigate through the glitches.

several problems
My primary complaint involves migrating back and forward through the process. Often when I wish to verify what I have entered much earlier on, I am forced to go through the intervening screens to get back to where I was originally. I found the flag process laborious as I often did not realize that I would have to migrate back through those many screens once I had clarified my concerns.
Apart from that, I find the program reasonably well designed.
I would really love to be able to run the program on my Mac. I find the windows OS painful and slow. I know there is a Mac version in the States. Why not in Canada, eh?

Not as good as last year :-(
You 'automated' the netfile process and it is now frustrating if the return is to be filed at a different time.
I do tax returns for my family at no charge, and they like to file their own returns through their own computers, after I provide the netfile files to them.
This year, it was virtually impossible to do that.
This year's edition struck me as not having been tested adequately for enough use cases.
As a software support analyst for a global company, I was disappointed in this year's product.
I hope next year's will be better.

struggling in the Outaouais-Quebec
I have used this product for years and am totally dissatisfied with how it handles the Quebec return. Working in Ontario and taxed in Quebec, it would not let me transfer 45 % of my tax deducted, to Quebec. My calculations were correct but no-go. I could not transfer ANY money to my Quebec return. Therefore I have a refund of 50% of taxes from the feds but need to pay the same amount to Quebec. What a waste. Turbotax was designed to do better but help was a big wait.
why do I keep using it? not sure if the other 1 or 2 options are an better. I wish there was a Quebec software.
