Hard to find things
I like to go back and review sections, and I found it difficult in Turbo tax. I also found that I had to go through the same things numerous times. Some tips are helpful but overall I will try a different product next year.

TurboTax
Good product. The reviews are lacking - they don't ask recent students if they claimed all the eligible deductions - and the bugs related to interest and T3/T5 forms on the review as you are trying the NETFILE need fixing. Errors need fixing promptly. I see that same error was reported three weeks ago and is still there - right in the middle of the busiest part of tax filing! Needing the check your forums for how to work around bugs and whether it is ok isn't a good sign for something that should be able to add numbers.

Easy But
The step by step was very easy to follow and most questions were answered but the review found an error which we tried to eliminate by selecting fix and also by going to the forms to edit and fix but the error kept coming up. I am only fairly certain that the error has been fixed.

More Expensive than Competitors
It works fine but seems to be getting more confusing to use every year. Also, more expensive than the competition. I will probably look at a competing product next year.

Good product except for the promotions
I've been using this product before it was known as TurboTax. Very good product and easy to use.
This year however too many promotions/adds were presented when using the Easy Step feature. This was very annoying.
If it would be a free product, I could understand, but since I bought this, I would expect to be free of these annoyances.

Not for Beginners
I would not recommend this product to someone with no tax filing knowledge. It is not very user friendly. The program could do without the advertising throughout the whole program. A simple tax return that would take 5 minutes to complete takes about 30 - 45 minutes using this program. I found myself having to go to the forms section because the easy step did not ask questions pertaining to a particular form in some cases. Be careful when you get to the Netfile section because there is no option to save the net file and submit yourself on the Canada Revenue website. The program will automatically send if you click you would like to netfile. Would not buy again.

This year was harder
The wording this year ...the way things were phrased, was definitely more confusing than in years past. We use this every year and this is the first year we felt confused in some areas.

I use TurboTax as I have used it in the past thus making transfer of information from year to year simple, but every year I get frustrated with moving around within the program. I know enough about the tax reporting that I find the "easy steps" helpful but not the only way I work through the process. I also like to jump around to add and subtract things at different stages. One can do this going to the actual forms not within "easy step". When I try to go forward or backward it is a slow and painful process because Turbo Tax does not allow you to jump easily between "easy steps."

Great but with limitations
Great Product to help you though completing your taxes making it simple and easy, however would be better if it supported a greater number of capital trades (stocks) in a year or allowexd you to import a spreadsheet (csv) of this information. Software only support 80 trades in a year.

Good product
I've used TT for several years and for a purchased product it still contains too much advertisement. I can understand seeing other product hints in a free software but it should not appear so often in Easy Step when I paid for this product.

Too many adds for upgrades
It seemed as if ever other screen suggested that I upgrade the product or buy some other intuit product.
I find completing my tax return stressful enough without having to say NO ten times to ten different offers. If next years version has this many adds, then next year will be the last year I buy Turbo Tax.

More complicated
It appears to be more complicated each year since renamed TurboTax. This year even with EasyStep, it asks way more questions then I think necessary, even though I imported from last years files. Also the Reviews process does not make sense that I had to go to the forums to get answers on how to get around the errors. Not happy with it this year.

not enough help
I will never buy a do it yourself tax preparation again.
I had too many questions that were not answered and
couldn't find the answers without paying more to TurboTax. Not fair :(

AT TIMES FRUSTATED
I HAD PROBLEMS FINDING ALL THE FORMS THAT I NEEDED. THE SEARCHES I DID OFTEN WERE OF LITTLE VALUE. WHEN I NEEDED TO ENTER A 2ND RENTAL PROPERTY, I HAD TO RETURN TO THE FORMS AND RETYPE IN RENTAL ... TO CONTINUE. I THOUGHT IT SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY ASK ME IF I HAD ANOTHER PROPERTY TO REPORT.

2013 Turbo tax is the worst so far
I have found the 2013 Turbo tax to be the less friendly and easy to use. I have been using Turbo Tax for over 4 years (great for people like me who do not like to fill out forms and numbers). Overall, Turbo Tax is a great product with the latest in taxes changes and modifications. I will use again next year.

Helpful but Confusing
I have used Turbo tax for 3 years and never ran into a problem until the 2013 version. Although the program was very helpful and fast, making changes because of strange errors was not quick nor easy. The software insisted I had a Business and applied $350 as income. It took many hours of frustrated attempts to change my status to "retired" with no Business.

Can't Netfile
I completed everything in the Turbo Tax, but it wouldn't let me netfile. It showed warnings that I had to enter business information. I never indicated I had a business, nor do I have a business. Now I have to print and mail my return. What a disappointment

Transferring Amounts from Dependants
When filing taxes for the family, the children are always completed first because of education amount transfers.
However, I have not found an automatic input of these amounts to the parent's return. You have to physically go back and re-enter the necessary amounts in the correct spaces; i.e. write them down on a piece of paper for later use or constantly open and close individual returns until all the info has been transferred. It is very time consuming, whereas other programs do this automatically.
