Some difficulty
I had problems with the Turbo tax this year. I entered my information and saved all the data but when I opened the file the next time none of the information was saved and I had to reenter it all. This was very frustrating. I've used turbo tax for several years and have never encountered this problem. On the plus side, filing this year was so much easier with your new process.

Too many ads
I really dislike the ads for Audit Defence etc. Don't bug me to try to make more money from me - I do not want to see any ads for anything while I do my taxes - you need an ad-free version.

Income thru Employment Agency
Found this software not very compatible with this area. I had to enter employment income from box 81 on t4 for income received thru employment agency. The overall return should have been very simple but ended up having to delete the first one and start all over. Took hours to research where to complete the required information as Turbo tax did not take you there automatically after it gave you the error.

problems with saving
couldn't save changes to my initial saved file. When I re-opened changes were lost! = ( I had to redo and resave under a different file name. Not impressed!

Bad Forms
Been using this for years. This year the Netfile is quick and easy but Turbotax refused to let me enter any data in any form with the form option. Had to go through the whole long answer question bit even though I only had 1 t4. UGH!

home buyers plan
the 2012 & 2013 versions do not record the home buyer plan repayment as an rrsp contribution. you need to manually re-enter the same contribution amount in both the rrsp contribution and hbp repayment fields. if you don't, the repayment amount will remain outstanding, and will record as income for that tax year. this may cause you to have tax owing, even though you've made the repayment and recorded it as such. this should be fixed.

Somewhat adequate
Prior versions of Turbo tax seemd easier to use. The Optimizer services as less user helpfull than in past. The smart review questions are less insightfull than past years. The Netfile service claims to be easier but instructions are confusing as to where to affirm agreement to terms and conditions. The red dot beside review the term and conditions is a strange place to put approval. It should be in the center of the page and larger to be more useable.

It doesn't give you the opportunity to print page with this number on it. If you don't write it down, it is gone. I found that out the hard way.

Disappointing this year
I had a lot of problems with overrides, trying to get them cleared and inserting the correct information. After several attempts it did work, but by then, I was quite frustrated. It seems to me that TurboTax was a lot easier to use a few years ago.

2013 - most difficult year
I have been using Turbo Tax for many years, but this year the program keeps freezing and not responding. Also, it does not let you "fix" any issues that may have been detected by program. Most frustrating year to use program.

Could use some improving
I found that it optimized the medical deductions. However it did not optimize the deductions for dependants born after 1996 as well as the fitness deduction. I originally put it under me, as well as the medical. We found medical under my husband, but the other deductions under me to be the most benefical.

Frustrating
I kept being given the Northern Resident deduction and could not remove it even after asking for help on Live community.....so my refund will probable not be what the form says. Also I kept getting a message about my medical expenses being too high and they were not.

Needs to be fixed
There is no instruction if you are filing outside the tax window time frame, you make it more confusing than it needs to be. You cannot Netfile but your software still takes you through the procedure which is wrong.

Font reminderers
Once you are working within the file why do you always have to acknowledge the fact of accepting a font change with each new screen. Once you do it once I would think that is sufficient. It is just a nuisance.

Hard to Read
I have completed my taxes for 2013 for my wife and I. We have used the income sharing option, which was very helpful. However, after printing out the forms I can't find where the bottom line is. I don't know what we owe or what we're getting for a refund. You'd think it would be on the last page or the first page, but I can't find it anywhere.

2013 TurboTax Standard
I wish that doing your tax return would be as fast as the name (TurboTax). I had to redo it 3 times. It is very difficult to find a filing errors. I could not find where I had make the mistake.

Glitch
There is a glitch that does not allow one to file a dependant child with an income of 0.00. Had to put $1.00 in to allow it to move forward. The 2008-2012 did not have this issue.

OK Young'uns-
Small, faint print is hard to read.
Next version, MAKE THE PRINT LARGER AND DARKER.

Not what I expected
I am not a financial wiz so I needed all the help I could get. I needed my hands to be held as I go through this process. I found that the same questions were asked on different pages thus making it confusing. Sometimes I felt that I entered the information required on a previous page but then asked for the information again making me second guess myself. Not a relaxing process as it was made out to be.

Wrong input produces wrong output?
A person must know how to answer questions in
order to get correct tax return.
Therefore in most cases a person should have previous tax knowledge as well as prepare his own analysis beforehand of what his tax return should look like.
This program provides you with a printed copy of your return and allows you to netfile.
Its up to you what your return looks like. Bad input means bad output.You have to learn how Turbotax thinks and operates.

There are several deficiencies that prevented me from using the NetFile facility. Field #160 will not accept enough digits to accomodate LP investment gross rents. Copying form T1164 for use in a partnership also copies the original PIN as well as the financial data. This results in confusion at CRA because two different returns have the same PIN.

Lack of support
I had some problems using the software and was unable to find a number for live help or even chat help in the "Help?" . I swore last year I would not buy it again for that exact reason but someone bought it for me so I used it but I will make sure I don't next year.
