MAC compatibility
Next year after 7 years of using your software, I will not be using it again because I have MAC systems at home and I don't feel that I should have to pay more because I have to process the returns online when I have to process 6 returns in the household and I can purchase the windows package for 6 returns.

First time user
This is the first year my boyfriend and I used Turbotax. My boyfriend thought it was a great tool to file income tax and so did I. The only issue I had was that at the end it advises that you do not have to send a paper copy of your return however it prompts you to print and mail it.
It is a good tool although perhaps I`m just being insecure but there is something to paying a professional to take away the worry of `did I fill it out correctly`.

Okay but can be confusing
I found the program fairly slick overall, but occasionally confusing and frustrating. Main problems I experienced were finding myself looping through the same "easy steps" more than once, and it had difficulty optimizing my options for donations. When I discovered the best option for myself, I could no longer Netfile because I apparently had put in an "override" to allow both my wife and myself to claim donation deductions. I also found if I missed ticking off an option I could easily miss potential tax savings.

Changes over the years
I have used Turbo Tax for years. I was somehwat disappointed this year to see the product differentiation to get people to upgrade and the sales promotion within Turbo Tax to get audit support. If Turbo Tax is any good, audit support should be rare.
I had some capital gains that did not seem to be supported by the standard software I purchased. That irritated, but did not deter me. I was able to enter it manually.

hard to maneuver through
Next to impossible to find where information has been entered into return.
Be helpful to actually view each page to be submitted and be able to correct errors then and/or override program if wish to submit differently.

Good but needs a big tweak
Have used for years but this year I could not use Netfile because I could not correct an error. I could change the information on the forms as directed and advised but could not get TurboTax to lift the Error Message or allow use of Netfile. Help was of no use. There must be simple way around this but after two hours I gave up.

There is a software whoops...
TurboTax is a great boon at tax time in Canada. Although I had always filed using the old fashioned paper method, 2012 saw peer pressure change this habit. Hesitant as I was, it went very smoothly filing 2011's returns except for one 'bug', the print function did NOT work at any stage in the process.
This year we have a brand new printer but once again, the print function did NOT work at any stage in the process of filing our 2012 returns although all other household functions print fine even wifi from our iPad2.
The software fails to be able to find the printer, the 'Search for Printer' button does not work nor does the 'Add Printer' button. However, the 'highlighted' printer shows as Ready. If it were not for this annual glitch, I would be able to review the product at 5 stars out of 5.

suggestion
Very irritating that in forms view all minimized forms are shown with only a first letter for the name. You have to open every one unless your guess is correct about its name. Mouseover to get the whole name, or put its name on it please.

Trouble Netfiling
I have used this product since it came out and this is the first time I had trouble filing. Both my husband and son have same name and could not do .tax save for my husband. Had to save to desktop. NOT GOOD. Please fix problem before next year.

The product itself worked well and was fairly easy to use. I had to restart my computer after each use to get Turbo Tax to relaunch. Not sure if it is a Turbo tax issue or something else. But all other applications seemed to work fine.

Not intuitive
I use this every year and it is a frustrating experience every year. It's not intuitive at all. I always buy the standard version and I have to reload all my personal information, when I get to the RRSP deductions I find I have to upgrade the software. I wish they had a simple chart to determine which version to buy..

too bad there isn't a mac version
I have been using this software for years. I do my return, my wife's, my mother's and three of my four children's returns. It's great except for the fact that I am a Mac user. For a number of years had use of a clunker of a PC but it died last year. I have borrowed a pc to do this return but would have preferred to use my Mac. I will be looking for a Mac friendly version that I can buy that will allow me to do the above returns at a reasonable price. Otherwise this program is virtually flawless and either I'm getting better (unlikely) or it's improving.

NOT THE BEST
I've used numerous softwares and found turbotax standard to not be helpful at all. You have to be aware of forms and your situation. If you are not familiar with the tax forms you will miss valuable deductions. I will be returning to Ufile which I find very simple to use and very helpful.

2012 VERSION BETTER THAN 2013
Two major problems. When it is time to Netfile and you have a partner it keeps defaulting to them, so problem if they aren't ready to Netfile. Also in 2012 version you could put in your partner's SIN in the rental section and it would duplicate for their forms, but no such luck this year.
These 2 problems not issues if just 1 filer or no rental property, but I'd expect better Intuit. Also Customer Support lacking, but I did find a helpful rep (Clint) on Facebook.

Medical Expenses work poorly
Every year with TurboTax I have the same problem: it does not properly handle medical expenses. If I try to make multiple entries, the software ignores all but the first entry. Every year I have to enter only a single, big item that covers all expenses for every member in the family. Fortunately, I keep a separate spreadsheet that tracks all the data.

Turbo Tax 2012
I have used your product for at least 10 years and I find this year that it is very confusing and a large part of that is due to the complexity of the tax forms - at the end of the day I just accept that your program is right - I find that I can't figure out where\how\why the calculations are coming from

Not as good as it used to be
I have been using TurboTax for the las 8 years. The 2012 version has to be the one I dislike the most. The step by step process is extremely long.

Great Program But no Mac version
I've been using this program for over 15 years and I love.
I hate the fact that there is no Mac verison and I have to bring home my work laptop to do my personal taxes.
PLEASE Intuit get with it and create a Mac verison of this software!!!!

Help is not helpful
Turbotax suggests reporting all spousal dividends under one spouse does not calculate properly when F2 override is used and does not accept 0% for allocation. Help section was confusing and did not provide any steps or rationale to complete properly.

Get Program for IOS
Want to use my iMac for my tax return. 'Cloud' version for iMac users not acceptable only offering Easy Prep and many schedules easier to fill out with 'Forms' version, and corrections or late additions of information way easier with 'forms' version.

Get a Version for iMacs
Been using the PC version for years, but want to dump the PC and use my iMac for tax returns. It's worth it
This program is very easy to use. My only complaint about it is if you do not use netfile and need to print your income tax return they print it with a "file copy, Do not submit" stamped on it. I have printed it twice from two diffrent area's and it is still stamped on it. Very irritating.

Do not like that you have printed "file copy" on copies to be downloaded and saved. It is hard to read the forms. Sometimes we need to have a copy to give to lawyers, bankers, etc. And sometimes we like to print forms to be used when using as a worksheet in the next tax year. And it wastes printer ink!! Please try to eliminate this for next tax year!!

Frustrated
This version is not as user friendly or as intuitive as any of the previous versions and I have been using this product for more than ten years. I found the "Easy Step" option did not flow through the various 'steps' as smoothly as it did in the past. Also I found the explanations, descriptions, definitions, etc. were not as easy to grasp as they were in past versions. The time it took me to file my return and that of my spouse was at least twice the amount of time it took me last year.
