The only difficulty I had was with the net file and assisting me with the errors. Very disappointing help in that particular area.

Very slow navigating across..
I have been using TurboTax for 3rd year in row, this year (tax year 2012) the software appeared to have become very slow. Very painful to navigate between pages/screens. Also too many unnecessary key strokes to move across pages.
Can make it more user friendly by avoiding these multiple 'continue' buttons. It also takes longer duration for each page to load.
The software Tax preparation functionality is still good and I will continue to buy it next year as well, hoping they would have improved this sluggish navigation.

First Year I had issues with TurboTAx!
Usually user friendly but with all the changes of heavily pushing to e-file it was painful!!
Difficult (to say the least) to e-file and almost as difficult to print another file to mail. Why? This year was the first year it was not idiot proof! And I would not call myself that as I have always done my taxes myself for the last 25 years! It would be easier to go back to the paperform and manually do the math involved! Turbotax needs some adjustments for next year!! Good Luck. Need further proof go to all the other guys that have sent questions, we are not alone!

Annoyed with all of the advertising
I really like this product, but I find it very annoying that in order to use it, I have to deal with all of its advertising for upgrades and such.

Couldn't use netfile.
I've used this product for a number of years with no problems but this year I couldn't use Netfile - we had two GICs on which the interest earned was claimed 50% by me and 50% by my wife. The amount on the T1 was calcuated correctly but when I tried to Netfile I got an error mesaage (I think it wasn't doing the 50% split) - very disappointing - I guess I'll have to mail our returns. This has made me very cautious about using TurboTax again.

Not Good This Year
This is my 13th year in a row using this software because it is easy to use and you can find some tips helping you filing.
I did not like it this year because it did not work after installation and had to bug the software to get it to run. After a while I came back to use it again and it did not work and this time I had to uninstall it and install it again to get it to work.
I do not know if I will buy it again next year!

tried to enter my son's net income in my return as part of deduction, but your form request info from his line 260 - which is taxable income, the gov't wanted his net income line 236.

This product is good but in my case it does not show the returns as netfile completed. It stops at step 5 which implies that the returns are not yet filed when they have been already filed and confirmation from revenue Canada has been received.

Perpetual installation issues
This product cannot be installed on more than 2 computers. Considering the fact that one may need to access information from previous years, and that most people only keep a given computer for a small number of years, one has to go through a burdersome process to be able to use the software again.
In my case, my previous system had a system board failure. I had done full backups and was able to recover all of my applications and data. Turbo Tax is unique in that while the software ran fine, it still needed the installation code, which it then rejected.
To date I only needed to go through the process for 2011, but I will need to get some older years working again as well - what a bother and useless waste of time!!

Frustating
I have used Turbo Tax in previous years and have found the 2012 version frustating to use when comparing different scenerios - ie who should claim donations etc. The program did not seem to change the values on the returns. Also when i printed out the copy of the return, the medical and donation lists were not included - just the totals. In other years, these were included as part of the printout.

Value for money paid - if simple return
Print was cumbersome. If you want to provide a print copy to CRA... you are not given directions to carry on past the initial print screen.
Donation C/F info appears incorrect... we get 7 years, not 5 .

every year your program makes it very hard to do the home buyers repayment. year after year I put in the amounts and each year on my assessment it says that i didnt, so if you can make that part easier that would be great.

not the most practical for quebec resident
I like the overall system with easy steps and how it was possible to view the form and slips at any time. However some deduction for quebec were very confusing like box J for insurance and the help section regarding those issues had lot of question from other users like me and were not answer or the answer was not useful. I saw in the comment section of the help section how the help was not competent

could be simplified
difficulty switching from one format ie; easy step to forms. Hard time saving it and it really ticks me off when you only want to print a few pages. It insists on printing several dozen pages with nothing on them.

Difficult to read
This product has poor contrast on the display, and the font is too small for elderly. Light blue on white background is not a good contrast. The fonts could be larger, there is a lot of empty space on the screen.

screwed up
This is the first time that I have ever had a problem with this program and have been using it for many years. For some reason the program took my husband's disability credit and put it on my return when I netfiled the returns to revenue Canada. I hope this doesn't get to them this way. How did this happen??????

Feedback - improvements
1. have a larger font, with option to enlarge font
2. darker font so it is easier to read
3. provide easier access to correct omissions/errors by being able to click on item in T1 and have it take you to input screen or profile
4. Make it easier to switch between T1 general and other forms
I liked last year's software which showed all the forms at bottom of page.
