Convenient Tool
Love the software, but it should be able to import more than one previous return at a time. This would be useful for when marital status changes occur.
Otherwise, I had no complaints about the software. I also loved how you could switch from the EasyView to the forms and you would be taken to the relevant forms for your current position in the interview.

Fell short on import
I used Online edition for 2011 and it was a nasty surprise to find out that you cannot import my 2011 filing into the 2012 Desktop edition.
This is a black eye on an otherwise good experience with the rest of the program.

Difficulty with some warnings
Some warnings before netfiling were not appropriate to my situation and took quite a bit of investigating to solve. Did not find as much help as I needed, but I eventually got it sorted out and was able to netfile after all.

In the interview I checked no for Medical Expenses but then the final review came an error came up to fix date range for medical expenses I claimed but I did not. This is a glitch that needs to be fixed.

Questionable results
Overall the program is good but, when it come to net filing I spent hours trying to get it to file. For some reason it couldn't find the tax file with the .tax file format.I finally gave up and have sent it through the mail. By the way this is the second year in a row that I have had to do it this way.

Very unhappy
This software was difficult to follow and confusing. Trying to figure out if I could deduct items like mechanic tools for employment, private health insurance and home renovations was not set up in a user friendly way. Nothing was obvious. The blue links were set up to answer questions that could easily be located elsewhere but the difficult and confusing parts had NO BLUE LINKS with more information. I'm left wondering if my refund and my husband's payment are accurate or if we just didn't complete the forms correctly. I will not be using Turbo tax again!

GOOD PRODUCT
THIS PROGRAM MAKES YOU GO BACK TOO MUCH, AND GETS CONFUSING WHEN YOU TRY TO CLAIM SOMETHING AND IT LATER ON SAYS YOU CAN'T, BUT THEN JUST BEFORE YOU ARE DONE IT TELLS YOU TO TRY AND CLAIM WHAT YOU PREVIOUSLY TRIED TO CLAIM.

I found TurboTax to be easy to use. I did find some components to be a bit confusing such as when they said you could enter medical expenses as one lump sum, but didn't let you do that.
It was a good program especially if you haven't done this before.

Can't see the Screen
I found the text on the screen way to small with no options to increase the screen size. You need a button to increase your view. I almost took the product home and even increasing my computer text size did not make a difference. I am not sure I would buy this again if I have to use a magnifing glass to see the questions.

Trouble with Windows 8
Things would have run smoother if I would have known ahead of time that TurboTax would not work with Windows 8 (even after running the "fix" from the TurboTax website). Was grateful that the online support was able to help us solve the problem.
I also find some of the "optimizer" tools confusing, such as when it is clearly in our best interest for one of us to claim deductions like donations, but the program insists that the other should.

I've been using turbotax and quicktax for the last 5-6 years and I have generally no issues. One of the things I noticed about declaring moving expenses is that the easy step method didn't allow me to enter in the expenses directly. I had to go to forms to enter it manually which took some time. Seems counter intuitive to the "easy" step method where you are usually cued to enter in information in the Easystep environment and not the CRA Forms format.

there should be an easier way to print the document without printing off 40 pages. often ther is one line on a page so there is massive waste when printing off the returns. really annoying.

Has some glitches
For the second year in a row, Turbo Tax does not recognize a zero value in the RRSP limit entry. I have to fudge and enter .01 to get a proper result. Also, I have to mail in my return, but Turbo Tax is focused on netfile and gives mail-in customers short shrift. The US version of the software is better in that you can choose to explore on your own at the beginning of each section, instead of having to go through all the screens whenever revisiting a tab. I stated that I would recommend this product to a friend, but that's only if they have a fairly straightforward tax situation. There's definitely room for improvement here.

Go back to the old version
2012 filing was the most painful yet. Believe it or not - not EVERYONE is computer literate or has internet access. My grandfather is 92 years old and in an extendicare home. This was awful trying to fill his in this year.

Good Purchase
Trying to fill out information is a pain as the text size is much too small and not a sharp, black font. The gray colour font is difficult to read.
I thought that this problem would be fixed this year as there were many complaints last year about the size of the font.

TurboTax Same as Ever, always something missing!
This year Turbo Tax told me I should enter the Medical Expenses on my return, but when I started to enter them,it would only let me enter one expense! There was no button to let me enter more than one expense. When I entered the Med. Expenses on my wife's return the "Add more expenses Button" was there! So I had back out the one I entered on my return and then transfer the Med. Expenses to my return later in the review section. MORE GOOD PROGRAMING FROM TURBO TAX!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy but got there
I have been using Turbo Tax for a few years now and this year was the hardest for me to use for some reason. Hopefully next year will be easier as I will always use Turbo Tax to do my refunds as it is as simple as a,b,c. Kind of goes against what I wrote but once I got it then it was easy again.

Be Careful on Easy Step
One must watch the selection of choices in the easy step process. The language in the choices does not easily match the joint filing of returns especially in split pension incomes and of claiming medical expenses in particular. Only one of the parties may claim medical in the end analysis before they are optimized to the lowest earner for tax purposes.
The language of the statement in the net file section includes one double negative question which one must answer correctly. Good luck with that question.
Also ,the government change in net file processing method has produced unneeded name and address errors.
It could have had smoother edges.

Good but needs improvements
The "interview" method is cumbersome and frustrating to use. It is also almost impossible to change a value in a field if it gets entered incorrectly. I eventually had to delete the file and start over. The "forms" method is much easier if you don't have many changes from year to year as I do and the various "optimizations" (such as pension splitting) work very well.
