Average purchase
I have a vision impairment and use other software to navigate the screen. Not the most compatible to to go back and forth to edit info.
Has taken me long time to make corrections due to navigation difficulties.
Not easily accessible for blind and low vision users.

Awkward
My first time using NetFile. I found that the paper method was easier; I have done my own and wife's taxes on paper for many years. If I was a computer wiz, it would have been easier. In future years, maybe it will get better.

Lots of ads
I liked the product but was annoyed by the fact that ads kept appearing trying to sell me more of the vendor's products and services. Having paid for the software in the first place, I shouldn't be bombarded with advertising while trying to compete my tax return.

awkward to use
because most people only use your program once a year it should be made simpler for the untrained user when they net file to find their file name. suggest it be part of the permanent info kept for each person and if it remains the same from year to year it would be automatically there in the net file section instead of having to retrieve it.

Quality Control Issues
Problems this year; could not complete first return to this feedback section even though submission confirmation numbers received from both Federal & Quebec; was looping between print PDF & Print without an option to continue; cannot complete return under TurboTax even though submitted.

TURBO CHARGED TAX NEEDS SOME JUICE
Overall TT is a good product, but sometimes more cryptic that it needs to be. I use Easy step because it's , well it's easy, but when I want to see what's going on in the actual tax schedule, it's not so easy. I just noticed that my capital losses T5008 for 2012 show up twice in the PDF - why? because the program walked me through an easy step and then flipped me into a schedule - it didn't summarize the two. Don't tell me I need the premium edition!! I have few T slips with some interest income, no high financing. 2012 I sold some shares - that's hardly "Premium"edition. You guys need to make it easier to see the whole thing not just 1 screen at a time. That's a coding design approach that cripples most good software!!! Maybe use the program and you'll understand. The review should run through the "PDF"version so obvious issues jump out!!
Also, the Tuition transfer never comes up, I always have to go look for it! Even though I noted dependents. It was just awkward.

not impressed this year
I was not impressed this year....I received an error code and had to uninstall and then re-install the program. This was very inconvenient and confusing...had to search out a solution from the internet, just overall not the good experience I am used to having with your product as I have been using it for the past 5 years at least.

I had trouble installing the Turbo Tax Standard 2012. The 1st time it knocked out my internet connection. I had to uninstall it. The second time all I go was the icon. I had to uninstall it again. The 3rd time was successful. Not good!

Easy to use program but...
I have been using this program for about five years now and have not had much trouble with its ease of use or simplicity. However, this year I cannot send my return in through the NetFile service that has been so very easy to do in the past. By having to print and mail my return because of the program not being able to verify my mailing address is just plain stupid! Even after re-typing and trying to submit over and over again with no success is just not acceptale.

Very misleading it said that if her income is more than this amount your credit will be this. Well her amount was more than that and I don't receive a credit any more but I have to pay.

Hard Work
I've used this soft ware for several years and found this one to be most difficult. In other years I could toggle between files, not this time. My software got a "bug" and had to be shut down midway, thus requiring all the info to be reentered. Not fun.

Don't Rely on Live Tax Advice
This actually applies to last year. I asked a very specific question regarding the eligibility of certain medical expenses which were both high and unusual compared to other years. The "expert" declared that they were, indeed, eligible. However, the CRA disallowed the expenses, and over $1,700 (including over $70 in interest) had to be repaid.

Very good and fast
I found the program to be very user friendly, but I had a problem with the printer again this year. I really wish that you guys can solve this problem in the future. But I will purchase again next year. Have for the past 3 years and find it is accurate and saves me a lot of time.

frustration
i felt that this year that the program was not as easy to use as in the past. If you make an error it seems more difficult to correct it. I would like to be able to see the form to confirm that the information had been corrected.

The program worked really well until called upon to netfile. At that point, even though it was saved, the computer could not locate the .tax file. After a few reboots and time away from the computer it worked.

This program does not offer any help or guidance for high-school students earning little money by babysitting, tutoring or something similar. Also, I can not deduct cost my books and school fees.
Very hard to browse – if I need to return to particular form I had to go thru 100 questions and answers already answered.

Problem
I have used this program and do a return for both my husband and myself - two returns. I do the Easy Step method, it asks me to enter Tslips for my husband, but then does NOT ask for T-slips for myself. I have to go back and manually enter these. Did the same thing last year (in fact it went all the way to the Revew stage without having my info inserted.
I also do not like the Help Feature where you ask a question and get advice from other people - their answers may not be correct. I do not like having to pay the extra fee for getting Turbo Tax professional advice.

one bug
in easy step I checked both me and my wife with T5008 required but in the form filling, only my T5008 shown up, not my wife. I have to go to the form and select my wife's T5008 individually. it is the first time I got in last 5 years with TurboTax.

Lots of errors
Certain boxes on T4A are still locking program and this was a problem last year as well and has not been corrected. It is also telling me to put in dates for medical expences when none have been claimed.

Preferred previous version
I have a very basic tax return and have been using TurboTax and its predecessor for years. I preferred the 2011 version which displayed the amount of tax owed (or to be refunded) on each page. I also found this year that Windows2010 could not open previously submitted versions of TurboTax - so be sure to keep your hardcopy printed form and receipts as back-up to your electronic file.

2012 Edition with glitches
1. Installation on Windows 8 was a headache. Setup Wizard froze after about 5 minutes into the setup. I waited, waited, waited, and after approximately 30 minutes clicked Cancel. Instead of canceling, it asked me for the installation key.
2. It asked to restart the computer after the installation was over, the computer froze again at 15% of Windows restart progress. I left the room and came back two hours later, at that time everything was set up. I do not know how long it takes for 2012 and Windows 8, but this is clearly bad compared with all previous editions, I have been using this program every year after 2001 and this is the worst installation.
3. After the program was finally installed, it started giving error messages and started asking if I want to debug some web pages.
4. When the set up was finally over, the program started functioning normally, my experience of actual tax preparation was great, as usual, fast, straightforward and easy.
Intuit: please hire more testers, you have a great product, why not have great quality control too?

Gets tougher every year
I don't know why but this program seems to get tougher to use every year. Trying to be too much to too many people I guess. Just to file a simple tax return takes hours and it's a good thing I used to do these by hand as some items had to be entered manually on the forms. Cheers till next year!
