Where Is It?
I find that some of the areas are not clearly shown or explained, especially the Northern Residents' Allowance. Last year I had to put in to be reassessed as I missed the question. This year I had to hunt for the question to answer so that I would be directed correctly to fill out the form. I knew it was there, somewhere. Also, I would like more explanation sometimes of what makes a person qualify for a deduction or credit, or maybe the program should ask more direct questions to decide if a person qualifies. I don't know. I do know I am considering other options for next year as I got a bit frustrated with it this year still. It's good, but not great.

disability tax transfer from dependent
I found this part to be very confusing and the help menu and local community help to not be very helpful. There was an error in the transfering of the credit and I had no way of knowing until I tried to netfile and by then it was too late as I had already done 1 and couldnt do the other. Instructions in this area need to be much more clearer.

frustrating but better than the old fashioned way
I feel that TurboTax does not explain things as well as it should. I felt there was a lot of back and forth. I feel that this is an science that is not well understood. They try but it just misses the mark. I feel in order to complete my spouses and my own taxes there is a lot of back and forth. It should know my spouses income I should not have to enter it multiple times. I just feel it makes it more confusing. I also couldn't figure out how to save and exit to come back later. I didn't want to file my return until I had completed my spouses. I could do that but it was not obvious.

My Dad did it for me, I watched.
It kept asking me to apply for credits I wasn't eligible for, some based on my age. Since it knows my DOB, it should figure out which deduction/credits I'm not eligible for. Otherwise, like I said, S'okay! :-)

I have used this tax return program for years and have loved it. This year however I have been very dissapointed with all the steps you have to take to Netfile this tax return. I have always mailed mine in. I still can't get this return to go. I have to ask for other help than the one you give. I am a senior and cannot remember all those steps. It is so much easier to just mail it. This is very frustrating for a senior that is not a teckie.

saving file

There stiil seems to be a problem with Netfiling for the wife of a person who is claiming a disability credit. This maybe more caused by the stumbling blocks the Govt Netfile system has created.

type is too small

SW bug
There is a SW bug after filing Quebec Netfile, the screen asks to print a PDF to mail, but clicking the button does nothing, and in addion, the return has been Netfiled so no need to mail anything.

Double clicking
While importing the quebec files I double clicked on the revenue and ended up with double revenue
It was impossible to go back and erase the problem4
I had to return to the forms format.
Why can you not take info from forms and submit it electronically....

not as smooth as other versions
Have used TurboTax for past 3 years and enjoyed the product. This year's version seemed more glitchy, automated RRSP calculator didn't load properly, and the flow missed some important pieces such as child care benefit deductions in terms of a logical sequence.
This year's software to me was not as strong as previous years.

Don't make changes for no reason
This year changes were made that made it impossible to print medical expense worksheet.Even though we carefully save each time THE EXPENSE WORKSHEET DISAPPEARED AFTER AN UPDATE.This necessitated inputting all the data again.I could have done a paper copy in less time than it took to redo the work.Don't make useless changes to keep some marketing person employed.

Problems with Activation
Don't share your computer with anybody else because If someone else uses your computer to fill their taxes and after that they uninstall their programs and you install your own, the activation server will tell you that the program has achieved the maximun number of installations permited. Then, when you enter your own product key number and then suddenly, you have whatever the others persons program has left for returns, instead of 8.

The product is excellent, but extremely hard to see on a computer monitir using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9. The font was about size 2 and extremely hard to see. The font should be at least Times New Roman 12 or equivalent.
I searched in vain but could find no method of enlarging the font.

One Flaw
I couldn't access the NETFILE Demonstration.
I then searched through Google. The demonstration loaded but it was wrong. You DON"T need an Access Code!
NETFILE steps were easy to follow.

Good App but Printout Problems
In general, seemed good. However, it hung my printer badly when I went to print out the info I needed to use for Netfile. (i.e. sin number, birth date and '.tax' file location.) I had to reboot my computer to clear the hung file out of my printer cue! NOT GOOD! It did this each time I tried to file each of my three returns.

Netfile Demo
If I understood right I could only download it from the internet on to one computer. I would have liked to download it on both my computers as one is getting old and even though I prefer to work on the old one, I am always nervous that it will quit working for me.
I was very disappointed in the netfile demo as it was only a bunch of unreadable marks. I have been using Intuit's tax program for years so was not happy with this problem!!!
I chose to download the program from the internet but could have saved myself money by buying the CD

This has been the easiest experience I have had with Turbo Tax. The changes to the easy step process made a huge difference in the time it took to complete and file my return and much less frustration in trying to navigate through the warnings, reviews, errors, etc. My only complaint is that I have to buy the 8-return software and I do not need it. The "simple" return software does not meet my needs which I found out the hard way last year. I should be able to buy the standard version for 1 return at the lower price. I think I have pointed this out before. I really like the product but will be actively looking for a more cost effective, single return solution for 2013.

Nothern Residence Allowance
The one thing:
"Turbo Tax" hasn't done is picked up on the Northern Residence Allowance the last 3 years. I think this program should be able to do this by picking up on the Postal Code. I missed this allowable deduction for 2010 and 2011 and now I have to go back with a form T2222 for each of these rescent years and have my tax recalculated. Good thing my wife remembered it this year or I would have missed it again!

Good software, poor tactics
I like nothing less than the satisfaction of filing my own taxes and this software allows me to do so, but i have a major issue with the program trying to scare you into buying another product. This issue with the Audit warning scare over medical expenses is unacceptable. Tell me if its wrong, if it isn't wrong don't try to convince me i need MORE of your help by giving you more money.

great start, poor end
I have used turbo tax for the past few years. This year I am disappointed in the netfile process. The netfile button was greyed out and I was unable to choose it. As I was looking into the live community, I could see this was a trend. I would still buy next year, as this is the first time I have had this difficulty.

Room for improvement
Good program overall .When i got to the BROWSE section i had a little difficulty finding where tax files got stored in my computer . Also would like a way to get my confirmation number .....it disapeared before i could write it down or print it.

The good the bad and the ugly
The download would not go on my laptop. Finally had to put it on my PC. Program is easy to follow. Getting the necessary upgrade involved calling their 1 888 number because they didn't make it clear how to upgrade. The fellow was very helpful. Overall it is not a bad product but with using it once a year the directions could be clearer.
