Very efficeint and straight forward EXCEPT Netfile function. It took me 30 minutes to fully prepare my return but more than 3 hours of unsuccessful effort to Netfile.

Good, but some gliches.
Transferred the info from my 2011 return to help jumpstart my 2012 return, as I had some amounts carried forward. Had some gliches. ie. had problems / couldn't leave popup screen after removing my oldest child as a dependant, (who I had listed in my info transferred from 2011). Had to Crtl+Alt+Del and use Task Manager to close, then restart. Pain!
Ended up having to do things manually using the forms individually. Thank goodness I'm a bookkeeper, otherwise I'd have had major problems. Not the same as QuickTax!

After completing a "Review" of the tax return, TurboTax has a "Bottom Line" page that may not show the correct information. If the person electing to get the trillium credit is changed in the program, the Bottom Line shows the tax credits being received by both persons of a couple.
Also, the Tax Tips section does not mention the various Sales Tax benefits, such as the Property Tax Grant. This refund is easy to miss.

On Line - no RRSP Transfers
I have used the on-line version of Turbo Tax for several years and was very disappointed in the 2012 version when I found it could not properly account for a transfer between RRSP accounts. After talking to a Turbo tax advisor, I concluded the best way to handle it was to buy the desk top version, which did have the capability I needed. I could not, however, access the previous years data from the on line version. Also, I could not install the desk top version from the disk supplied, and had to get TT support to install it for me.

literal application
line 214 dificulties: the child activity credit must come in the first box, before the day care expenses are entered in box 2. The reverse order does not work no matter how one tries and despite having the right information all on the one page at the same time!!

No Price advantage & discounted every February
You no longer give any discount for pre ordering your software. Adding insult to injury when I bought it at full price in January I noticed that for the second year in a row that I could have saved ~$5 or so if I had waited to mid to late Feb when price discounts on your products seem to appear at retailers. Where is the loyalty discount for people like me who have been faithfull for many many years?

Good until the end
Easy to use program except when it comes to actually filing your return online. It wouldn't give me the option to send and after research other feedback, I found out that I had to do more upgrades. The program told me everything was up-to-date until I clicked on check for updates and surpries... it updated and I could send in my return. I'm not great with computers so I was disappointed when I bought a new product that was already out of date and wouldn't let me do what it was designed to.

changes make it confusing
When doing spousal returns on easy step , I had to keep all the paper files open all the time to fill in the data instead of completing one then the other. The check for netfile errors gave me trouble with the address. I had put a( . )after the short form N for North on the street line.

Annual Turbo Tax adventure

Way too many error messages, had to save and close many times and reopen to continue inputing data.
New user friendly format really wasn't - harder to navigate
If this is the new improved version of turbo tax I will shop for different tax software.

Thumbs down this year.
Not overly impressed this year. The netfile was a pain to find to send the tax file. Work on your directions. Also I accidentally copied over my files about half thru. Needs to be a SURE YOU WANT TO DO THAT box. I`ve used this product before with no problems. Lots of swearing this year:-(

Medical Expense
When I filled in my wife and my medical expense form, Turbo Tax did not inform me right away to combine the expenses on my wife's form and did it want me to have it do it automatically. Only after everything was done and it reviewed my completed taxes, did it come back and advise to claim combined expenses on my wife's form. We were wondering that when we made the claims out, but Turbo Tax was quiet the whole time.

Not as good as it used to be
We have used QuickTax in the past and then TurboTax. It did not seem to calculate things as well this year - some things I had to fill in that should have been automatic.
The spousal charitable giving splitting was terrible. I ended up manually splitting the giving and then it used charitable giving at the expense of other credits that couldn't be carried forward. I ended up doing a "number guessing game" search until I optimized the return (and ended up getting several thousand dollars more back). The optimizer wasn't helpful as it seemed to apply to only one of the couple at a time. Not impressed.

I have used Quick Tax / turbo tax for years. However I do not like the constant adverts popping up and the text IS WAY TOO SMALL AND VERY DIFFICULT TO READ. FOR THIS REASON i DOUBT THAT I WILL USE TURBO TAX IN THE FUTURE.

difficult to read
the font is too small and not bold. for older people with cataracts, it is not a pleasant experience. you cannot use CONTROL plus to enlarge the letters

Excellent investment
Overall rating was set for me at 3 because everything was smooth and fluid: up until the moving expenses portion. It became confusing where to enter what from the two moves which i had one being from the previous year which i hadn't claimed in 2011. The wording became very confusing: had to go back again and again to fix some fields.

Found the print to be difficult to read. Grey print should be black. Light blue "tips " or "explanations" should be in a high contrasting colour. Remember the population is getting older and contrast is good.
