I think it is over priced. Once you buy the program (good value). Subsequent years should be at an upgrade cost. I hope the GofC makes their own program so that I stopped getting screwed year after year.

error found!!
There is an error with medical expenses!
When I included expenses, we got a refund.
The program said they weren't necessary and to remove them.
I did, and we ended up with a balance owing.
Not good!
Needless to say, I added them back in.

Turbo Tax is easy to use and automates many of the calculations. I also like the Optimize functions that assist with determining the best amount of pension to split with my spouse. The one problem that I experienced with it is the calculation of Motor Vehicle Expenses percentage to use for CCA when you have more than one Motor Vehicle. I had to add all expenses in the Auto A column in order to be able to calculate the appropriate percentage to use.

Wished I know about Saving
First time i used this software. Saved as a PDF only, lost all my information and had to start another file! Did not realise I had to save it as TurboTax file as well. Would have saved me a lot of time. Now that I have used it, it should be easier next year.

I found the program decent to use considering the amount of information it required. I will use it again next year. I would like seeing an improvement in searching for line items and finding them, such as where to put the annual fees for professional licenses. I would also like to see an easy way to increase text size. I found the text much too small for comfortable working and often had to strain my eyes to read the information on the pages.

you need to make questions in bolder print and include more information for medical expenses for travel more than 80km Ihave to revise last years taxes to reflect this and only found this from a friend so your program does not seem as easy as you advertise on T V

Start Up
There is a lack of any startup icon showing start up progress. Probably does not matter on super fast computers or machines with very fast internet connections Annoying that one does not have any idea if program start has even occured

Gotta Be A Kid
Although Easy Step is just that, the font size and colour of the questions is VERY DIFFICULT to read unless of course you are 19 and can see without corrective lenses. What is with 8pt light blue type on a white bacground. Next year, please give me an optionto choose font size and colour.

Missing basic data checks
Software is still missing some basic data verification checks. For example, you can enter a medical expense and date it 2014, and the system doesn't give an error or warning... how can you have a future dated receipt?
Nothing is idiot proof, but anyone can cause a typo error, and software can easily do basic verification (if coded to do so).

BASIC V STANDARD
I'm disappointed that I have to pay an extra $21 to upgrade to standard because I have one RRSP slip to enter. I think rrsp contributions are pretty basic these days. :(

Less than perfect
I am a retired US Federal employee. I receive a US gov't pension and Social Security. The program gave me 50% deduction on the Social Security benefit when I first ran it, and I paid the tax based on that. I did not have the Netfile code however, and had to contact CRA to obtain that. When I re-ran the program to prepare it for transmission, the Social Security deduction was 15%, which meant less deduction and more taxes due. I will have to pay interest on the difference. Furthermore, when I click on the data and tax summary in the upper right corner of the screen, it shows that Social Security deduction as a Northern Residence deduction, which I do not qualify for. I spent about four extra hours trying to figure out how to take off the improper deduction. I finally found that mislabelling when I studied all of the forms.

Mostly easy
Filling in the form was no problem but when I went to file it, I kept getting a warning that I wasn't connected to the internet while I was. When I ignored the warning it continues on. The warning may have frustrated first time users.

I hate the hard sell and ads in this program.
Pretty much self explanatory. The program itself is okay. No better or worse than it's competitor but where this program is the really bad is the constant barrage of ads that gets in your face every chance it gets to upsell you their audit services, upgrade your package, etc. Cut the garabe ads already.
